Help me identify the caterpillar. Caught on 15.10.2013. A caterpillar crawled across the road. In body color, it is similar to the caterpillar Spilosoma lubricipedum, with red hairs on Spilarctia lubricipeda. The color did not change after preparation.

It is not clear what you mean by Spilosoma lubricipedum and Spilarctia lubricipeda, but actually, Phragmatobia fuliginosa is more suitable here.

I meant that the caterpillar is very similar to the caterpillar of Spilosoma lubricipedum, and its hair is red, almost like that of Spilarctia lutea. Please forgive me, but I can't explain it any more correctly.
Thank you so much for the tip. The fact that it could be a caterpillar Phragmatobia fuliginosa, I did not even think.)

Eriogaster lanestris, a cocoonworm. I'd like to go to the studio, if possible. Near Krasnoyarsk?

Yes, I came home and checked my photos, it was him. Just at that time, I needed info on the name of the type. I will inform you about the discovery of this caterpillar tomorrow.
As for the meeting places of these caterpillars, these are mixed forests (pine, birch) near Krasnoyarsk, also in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (Minusinsk), in Khakassia the Shirinsky district (larch with birch) is quite often found on shrubby vegetation and grass near them. Unfortunately, there are no butterflies in the collection of this species.

I'll duplicate it just in case. Please help me identify the species. The caterpillar was found by her daughter on a dry leaf on bare dry ground without grass under a tree without leaves. In Luanda (Angola).

Good day. This is a caterpillar of a cocoonworm of the genus Stoermeriana. Latin-Stoermeriana. These caterpillars eat different types of trees, in Angola mainly on acacia trees. This is an adult caterpillar. Most likely, it will soon pop a cocoon and turn into a pupa in it, and in 2-3 weeks a butterfly will hatch from the pupa. If you can, post her photo later.

1 - 10) Right.
11) Cerura vinula
12-16) Correct.
17) The caterpillar is very young, it is difficult to determine, but still Cerura vinula
18, 19) Correctly.
21) Very similar indeed to Pyrrhia exprimens. And exactly from Karelia?
22) You should not doubt, Trichiura crataegi is what it is.
23) Correct.

You just have an allergic reaction, if there is no deterioration of the condition, then it will pass - you will live smile.gif
The caterpillar is similar to some kind of wave moth (Lymantriidae) or silkworm (Lasiocampidae, for example, Euthrix potatoria)

I have such a cocoonworm escaped from home and I am asthmatic this can be reflected in death confused.gif

absolutely, its extreme southeast

On 29 - there is a slightly different angle:

Thank you for your help
absolutely, its extreme south-east

On 29 - there is a slightly different angle:

For the last two tracks, I suspected that there might be difficulties.
And on the cocoonworm (No. 20) - there are no considerations, like similar?

By Pyrrhia exprimens-yes, undoubtedly she is! Nice view, congratulations!

On 29 - and from this angle is also poorly visible. You need a back view. According to this photo, there are two options: either the bear Spilarctia lutea, or the scoop Acronicta auricoma.

According to cocoonworm (No. 20) - yes, Poecilocampa populi. I can't find anything more similar.

A few more old shots with unidentified ones were found (all South Karelia)

1) Notodonta ziczac (but there are small doubts)
2) Clostera curtula (there are also some doubts)
3,4) Sawfly larvae.

Thank you, but what's so good about it?
In all the caterpillars of Acronicta auricoma that I observed in our north, only the pubescence was red, but not the caterpillar itself (as in No. 1). I think it's a dipper, but what is it ???
