The "battle" coloring is very similar. The question is in the form of a head capsule. Or is this a variable attribute?

What's wrong with your head?

What's wrong with your head?

When viewed from above, it has the shape of a saddle.
Here is yesterday's find measuring 10-12 mm (the previous one was about 15 mm). There are no questions with this one. Very similar to caterpillars Apamea remissa.

Yes, it must be her. She also has this protrusion on her back.

I read that a caterpillar spends the winter. And what conditions does it need to create for a successful wintering? smile.gif You don't need to feed them, do you? Does she have to sleep?

Ideally, yes. In reality, this is a terrible hemorrhoid, overwinter M. rubi. How many of them I sent to the next world...

And if you wait for the cocoon - and hide it in the grass? In the spring, I accidentally found such jumping cocoons on the surface of the soil and not in very thick grass - I got butterflies

I don't want to send her to the next world. Let her go free?

So the cocoon, if I understand correctly, will only be in the spring, and what to do with it all fall and winter?
