27: 08: 18, at 17: 30, Belarus, Kamenetsky district. I caught such a funny caterpillar. She lived on a raspberry leaf, although she did not eat it. The caterpillar is "fluffy", orange-brown (red) in color, with two thin gray stripes on the sides. The ends of the limbs are black. "Pooh" is also red. A very active caterpillar, constantly running on a piece of paper and was barely caught and held for a photo shoot.

Thank you. I started digging through the tape scoops and found, in my opinion, a more similar one (the most recent photo of the caterpillars).

Were there any coniferous trees nearby? Laspeyria flexula, or the lichen scooper, is said to feed exclusively on lichens growing on coniferous trees.

It's a mixed forest with lots of fir trees. Under them and filmed. Unfortunately, I haven't read about this type of food. If this is indeed Laspeyria flexula, then it is not clear what it did on raspberries.

If there were no traces on the raspberry, i.e. gnawed leaves, then the caterpillar could climb to bask in the sun or just fall

Maybe she doesn't eat because she's going to pupate ? Maybe put it in a pot with earth, and it will be buried for pupation.

Maybe she doesn't eat because she's going to pupate ? Maybe put it in a pot with earth, and it will be buried for pupation.

If you put earth in the container and pine branches on top, you will see whether it is time for it to pupate. If it starts to dig in, then it needs a vessel with earth. I don't know just how deep it is buried. And if not, then you need fresh pine branches.
