And how do you cook hawk moth?

07.03.2008 9:54, americanecz

I'm a net! Then brutally ammonia in the solar plexus...)))

07.03.2008 14:21, Grigory Grigoryev

Or I catch my fingers under the wings and immediately prick, or also, as I wrote above.

07.03.2008 16:54, americanecz

Fingers paw the last thing I think...
Need a table like this with syringes!!!
And learn how to play darts!
Hawk moth - 20 points... Ursa Major - 15 ... Andgot hit in the head from 3 meters away! - Double your points!!!

don't know..

I somehow did not get used to straightening without fixing, which usually acts as a pin..
After all, how many of them do not pee, all the same wooden

28.05.2008 4:21, Mylabris

And poison what?

28.05.2008 9:55, collector

I etch only ethyl
acetate Elasticity at a height of tens of years
Chitin at the same time retains its original color to the smallest shades!

28.05.2008 14:42, Tomas.Adzkee

I'm going through the fees for 01 years... They were soaked in vinegar

Now I use nail polish remover.. It would probably be better..

28.05.2008 16:26, RippeR

how do you get wet? Maybe it also depends on this? By the way, try a little water and 15 seconds or as long as you need, in the microwave, if there is-I wonder if the result will change smile.gif

28.05.2008 23:24, Guest

I soaked it in a desiccator, now I just throw it in boiling water. Easier and faster. by the way, there is no particular difference. The main thing is not to overdo it.

I think the microwave won't solve the problem )

29.05.2008 0:04, RippeR

Yeah, probably so.. down with vinegar

That's it!Don't overdo it.But still, the color can be damaged.Told here Morozzz about the freezer, I think about the best killing speech can not be.If,of course, you don't have to leave for long.
As for the topic,as a person from the outside, I will say that a beetle glued and straightened on pins and brackets looks more aesthetically pleasing and cute than a pierced one.Imho

Also recently started using frozzilku smile.gif
The results are excellent-for example, beetles are very soft and perfectly spread out. Moths and moths are also good to freeze, because they are not damaged, they are kept perfect. But to freeze diaries tszhasno.. although of course looking at someone-for example, Parnassus freeze-good, and golubyanka or something like that-terrible, as the wings are lowered down and you can say the ex is lost (but not all..)

31.05.2008 16:28, Dmitry Vlasov

You also need to be able to freeze, daytime butterflies are still better to press down first. And most importantly, keep the material in the freezer either in an airtight container, or for a short time, because they dry out over time.

01.06.2008 0:01, RippeR

I keep half an hour, sometimes a night or a day or two, if I don't have time to spread everything I need - the rest on the mattresses. I consider it unnecessary to freeze the diaries, just press them down and that's it - you can soak them if you want, rather than keep them in the freezer for a long time.
I had a bad experience with butterfly ice cream last year - I kept it for about a month, then just touched the mustache, and it fell off.. And so all the butterflies became very fragile..all.. smile.gif

Dabbled with chloroform - something in between, he has

I've already read so many reviews about chloroform... And I read that to get it, you need all sorts of certificates that you work in medicine somewhere out there. Or has it not been so for a long time? confused.gif (same question about cyanide)

16.08.2008 11:54, Tomas.Adzkee

Put it in the freezer-soak it ?

Yes, sending 5200 copies is serious.
And if you consider that, old copies are always more difficult to correct than fresh ones or leatherworkers did a little work, and God forbid, cyanide-starved......

And what if you smear it with cyanide confused.gif, ethyl acetate?

18.01.2009 0:37, Jarik

To Liparus:

An employee of the Kiev Zoological Institute at the Museum of Zoology once gave me some Central Asian material from Kyrgyzstan, satires and egg yolks covered with cyanide. I kept them in a desiccator by the radiator for a week, injected water into my chest with a syringe, but I still had to cut the muscles with a blade at the base so that I wouldn't have to wring my shoulders. As I understood it, their muscles were stiff. And with ethyl acetate, there were no such problems!

I read the topic soaking insects. Various participants expressed their opinions about what to use (up to the point when they found themselves in a hopeless situation - from triple cologne to bird cherry leaves, they advised-among other things, it's interesting), but they didn't find ethyl acetate better, despite its disadvantages (rapid evaporation). At least for myself, I made this conclusion.

the main drawback of ethyl acetate is that it is dangerous to transport it across the border.. and in general to carry..

often the best option is vodka or a freezer, if there is one nearby.. butterflies can be vinegar. If you go abroad, it is often better not to take risks..
Although I have never been burned smile.gifyet

You can check it in your luggage.
Or buy nail polish remover - they are all based on ethyl acetate.

People, tell me, does ethyl acetate corrode corks for laboratory utensils, well, such black vulcanized rubber?

14.04.2009 13:16, Aaata

Logically, Nikolai, you shouldn't. Why then do we need such a chemical product?dishes, even if ethyl acetate is far from the most aggressive solvent, it does not stand up? But this argument doesn't always work. For 100% confidence, in my opinion, there is only one method: sacrifice one vessel and a cork for the experiment, and how to test for the effect of ethyl acetate.

in my opinion, the rubber does not corrode.. I had a rubber stopper on the flask, made of such rubber as you write. Ethyl acetate didn't touch it.
Ethyl acetate does not touch all plastic, either.. for example, the plastic from the jars for passing moth and fecal tests does not corrode at all. And also from food containers (I don't know about all of them, but I tried on those with a fairly flexible plastic)

Ethyl acetate does not dissolve rubber stoppers, but they swell in it and after removing them, it is very problematic to insert them into place

Perhaps there are varieties of rubber that do not swell. We need to check.

To be honest, I had in mind the possibility of the process of destruction of rubber by ethyl acetate VAPORS (stain with such a cork), but apparently after some time in the process of using the cork will still swell. frown.gif

Many people write that they are being treated with 10% ammonia from the pharmacy. Is it effective??? Or order stronger ammonia from gosaptek?

I earn 10% and am quite satisfied. I use insulin syringes. Just a small drop in the chest (butterflies) and the "patient" is ready mad.gif

I want to share my experience in the production of stains and offer my own version.
1 - "ingredients": whatman strip, plasm circle. napkins with a hole, the bottom of a plastic bottle (0.5 liters) with a hole, a cotton pad, a glass jar with a polyethylene lid
2, 3-put a cotton pad and the bottom of the bottle in the jar
4-put a circle of plasm. with a hole
5 - a circle of whatman paper with a napkin
6, 7-insert a strip of whatman paper (choose the width of the whatman paper with the condition that the upper edge reaches the" upper shoulders " of the jar, then the contents will not fall out when tipping.
The holes are needed to fill ethyl acetate, for this I use a syringe.
I have been using such a stain for a long time and it completely suits me. I hope this scheme will help someone.

Five points!

I first used the stain this year...and I had a problem with the cows with cotton wool sticking to them and I started using a napkin instead of cotton wool...
And another important question is where to get ethyl acetate in Kharkiv ,because there are no entomological stores in Ukraine??????????????????????

I use nail polish remover without acetone. Most of it is ethyl acetate. It does not affect the color of butterflies (except for some green moths).

16.04.2009 22:42, Aaata

I don't know about Kharkiv specifically. In general, ethyl acetate, like other solvents (turpentine, acetones, etc.) is found in hardware stores. In Russia, in entomological stores I met infrequently, but much more expensive. You can get it on any chemical plant. factory (used there for laboratory purposes) or buy from a chemical warehouse.products, however, they like to sell tanks smile.gifthere .
