Friends, colleagues and comrades, on Alibi, put up for sale a unique book about the entomologist Chetverikov - for the first time an extremely interesting correspondence between him and various entomologists was published. I bought a copy for myself a long time ago and occasionally reread it. There is even a partial species composition of some lepidoptera in the letters... You can try to bring down the price, of course... The print run is surprisingly small for such an interesting publication.

Sergey Sergeyevich Chetverikov. Documents for the biography. Unpublished works. Correspondence and memories (Series Nauchnoe nasledstvo; Vol. 28) M Nauka 2002. 641s. Hardcover Encyclopedia format
(Seller: BS-wmg06, Moscow.) Price 3000 rubles. Buy
a print run of 350 copies.
Condition: Excellent

http://pdf-knigi.com/1218/349851/Sergei_Se...etverikov._.pdf NB: only read online

By the way, who-thread knows how to upload from thissimilar site?
VK docks there is a lot of modern and up-to-date literature in the form of a link in a PDF sending to this site. By the way, I will repeat - a reliable repository for old and other books, which copywriters do not graze. And if you search in djvu , then there is no slag - just the essence. If the user is banned, it returns an error, then you should add the document to yourself and then download it.

August 25 marked the 70th anniversary of the head of the Entomology Laboratory of the BPI FEB RAS A. S. Leley. Friends and colleagues, in addition to the warmest congratulations and wishes to the hero of the day, timed the publication of a special issue of the Eurasian Entomological Journal to coincide with this event. 60 authors from the USA, South Africa, Germany, Japan, France, Italy, China, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnodar, Petrozavodsk, Cheboksary, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok and Komsomolsk-on-Amur)participated in the preparation of this publication.
Together, they have prepared 39 articles that describe them as new to science: 1 family, 1 subfamily, 1 genus, 1 subgenus, and 35 insect species from 6 orders. Of these, 30 new taxa from Argentina, Ecuador, the United Arab Emirates, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, Malaysia, Japan, Mongolia, Korea, Montenegro, Kazakhstan, and Russia are named after our hero of the day.

Does anyone know what kind of book it is???

Ivanov S. Exotic butterflies
, Bely Gorod Publ., 2016, 66 p., color Fig. Cover in encyclopedic format.
The book of the famous German entomologist Eugenius Johann Christoph Esper (1742-1810) on butterflies was one of the first sensational publications on this topic. Now it is presented to the Russian reader. The publication is based on the latest discoveries in the field of entomology.

Already on the forum somewhere they wrote about it, this is more for lovers of painting-miniatures to entomological literature can be attributed with difficulty to the translation of a book two hundred years ago with the same illustrations. The quality of the illustrations is lower than that of the original.

06.09.2016 13:15, Penzyak

And what does this have to do with a certain S. Ivanov-if the book was written and published by an Esper???

I once saw the book "Bumblebees of the Caucasus"in the Museum of Georgia. Immediately lit up to buy, but... as I was told, the author does not sell it so that no one could steal its data (?!) Judging by the fact that the collection of the Caucasian Museum was shown to me from afar, before that even a pencil was selected, so that I would not write anything down (there is nothing to say about the camera), at that time such moods were in order things.
And about Eteri Akakievna - the most pleasant memories, as well as in general about that trip.

Book
The Noctuoid moths of Kyrgyzstan
published
Authors: A. Y. Matov, I. G. Plyushch, Z. F. Klyuchko, A. N. Poltavsky and your humble servant.

230 pages, for each species - distribution map in Kyrgyzstan, data on the original description, links for Kyrgyzstan, type location, ecology, material used.

The book has 18 colored tables.
Printed on coated paper, quite heavy (slightly less than a kilogram). A4 format, hardcover.

At the moment, the book is the most complete source on the scooplike lepidoptera of Kyrgyzstan (69 species are listed for this territory for the first time). Several lectotypes are identified. The scoopback lepidopteran fauna of the country has been mapped as fully as possible; geographical coordinates are provided for all localities, and for many localities they are accurate to seconds. The color tables show species that are difficult to find online; approximately half of the butterflies depicted are typical specimens.

Book price: 60 euros (rubles are also accepted for payment), excluding postage and packaging costs.

If you have any questions about the purchase, please send me an email: grappa (dog) list (dot)ru. Please note that I will not respond in PM on the forum, and I will not accept orders in PM either, as this is inconvenient.

Sincerely
Stanislav

I came across this recent article with a description of the new Russian epiplemid (!!!!!), decided to post it here and at the same time ask you to look at your collections - suddenly someone has this extremely interesting view of the Far East in their collections. Because it is strange that it is in one copy; it would be nice to clarify and expand its range.

Ladies and gentlemen,
In the "Truth" appeared some contradictory information about the publication of a long-announced book by Nikitsky about the beetles of the Moscow region. Confusingly, it was first announced in one German (!???) a publishing house, and then - in another, already Russian-German...which is known only as the" publisher " of pseudo-books on compact discs. As such, this publisher can only print books on individual orders, which makes their cost comparable to the weight of gold. Does this mean that this, undoubtedly, very significant work, if it is published, will only be a few copies in circulation?
Has anyone seen this book and what libraries did it go to?

It is not clear that this book is also in several volumes? Where is the book's photo and abstract?

18.02.2017 10:12, Nemov

The first search results for Nikitsky's book.
I wrote him a respectful letter asking him to sell the book. No response yet.
The book is not available on the website of the CD publisher - although it should be, it was published in 16, and already 17.
The libraries of the Zoological Museum of Moscow State University (the main place of Nikitsky's coleopterological work!), TSNSHB and MOIP have not yet received the book. Especially in ZIN.
There is a report that the book was recently demonstrated by Nikitsky at the Department of Entomology of Moscow State University. At the same time, prof. Zhantiev, who is written there as a reviewer, was frankly surprised that he is a reviewer there.
These are the pies.
And how to work with such manuscripts?
