I realize that there are doctors among the forum members, but I answer this way - I was waiting for them (morfid). smile.gif  smile.gif  smile.gif

Oh, Volodya! I (unlike many) understand everything! Especially since you (undoubtedly) waited for them! Let them be envious! (if they need it...).

El Cazador, can you collect catocal eggs? I'll buy it or change it....Just put the female in the cage and feed her with a solution of honey... it's very simple.

01.10.2008 19:49, El Cazador

I have already finished the season, I took all the ammunition out of the dacha, although the fraxini probably still fly. It's too late, my dear, it's too late.

Tell me, what insects can be caught on baits right now in October, and which baits are better?

09.10.2008 9:30, bugslov

Depending on where to catch

Zvinayte, instead of responding to the flower clicked smile.gifNow in the middle lane, most of the insects are already in a state of diapause or close to it, so there is no special point in catching baits anymore. Look forward to next season.

I live in Ukraine, and now we are not cold (+20 - +25). At this moment, I will be at the dacha for another two weeks, and the dacha is located 4 meters from the forest (oak, beech, birch-far from each other toist very rarely, pine), and all the trees are mixed up. Anyway, there is nothing to do in the evenings at the dacha (if you do not use hibernation).
Excuse me for my naivety and persistence, but what if I catch cheto, and what if cheto is interesting. Tell me, after all, which baits are best to catch right now, and what, if you are lucky, you will reap?

I picked a lot of karabuses under the bark in Abkhazia!
And the bait was good, too.
BUT THIS IS IN THE CAUCASUS AND NOT IN THE MIDDLE ZONE! umnik.gif

At the end of August, I poured out the remains of apple cider vinegar near the cottage. An hour later, HERDS of Vanessa atalanta, Polygonia c-album, Aglais urticae and Inachis io swooped in. I did not think that vinegar and nymphalid acts. In the spring you will need to try

The season is coming soon. I can't figure out, so do zlatki fly on baits with turpentine, or is it a bautka duck? It doesn't seem like it, I heard that there is a work on this topic. If they fly, what is the method?

Does anyone know???How to attract ladybirds, and it is desirable that all species fly from everywhere for further selection of the rarest and most beautifulsmile.gif

how about caramels,chupachups
and if you catch a female and put it in a box with a net, then the males will fly?or they have no business looking for females

how to lure cows?

30.04.2009 17:47, John-ST

2 SISYPHUS
Rhinoceros Beetles can be baited on a cow's gamno so overripe-compost is called, they live there lol.gif lol.gif
swallowtail and polyxene can be lured to liquid gamno, I don't know how they do with this, but in general somewhere above there was a thermonuclear bait-multicomponent with sosa-sol can fly to it confused.gif

2 Aaata
Can on this bait and zlatki will fly confused.gif mol.gif

somewhere I wrote about baits for barbels.. It is quite possible to lure dubovoy on them, but I haven't caught it myself yet.

On this occasion, a couple of years ago, a good movie was on TV. There, a Canadian entomologist in South America caught morfid. Bananas, watermelons, Coca-Cola, sour wine, human urine (sorry) and a day or two in the heat. I tried this recipe myself personally.
This is interesting!!! Please tell us more details, especially about the proportions: in what ratio to combine everything.

About manure and other fecal excreta: dung lamellae, staphylinids, water lovers come + some dead eaters
Who asked about goldfish: mowing, window traps, visual inspection of freshly cut trees. As for turpentine, it is possible, but coniferous species are more likely to use it. I haven't tried it myself, but I'm going to.

By the way, the following bait idea came up:
The basic idea is based on the same traps for barbels-a jar, a bottle, but better some kind of bucket or something else larger with a retainer attached to a long rope with a sinker at the other end. We choose a crown or crowns higher, a protruding branch and throw a rope with a sinker. the rope clings and we pull the bucket with bait over it, so the trap is in the crown of the tree without much effort. we tie the rope anywhere, preferably to the same tree.
Maybe this will allow you to collect interesting insects that do not like to fly low and descend?
I usually use 5-liter baklashki from beer or min. vody

13.07.2009 10:33, Ustas

Tell me, how is it better to lure dipter (more specifically Drosophilidae)??? And what is the best way to design a trap? smile.gif

26.07.2009 22:14, captolabrus

hello everyone! I have heard about such a bait-bananas are kept in alcohol with sugar for several days, all the bait is ready, oriented to nymphalid, although I have not yet tried to say poeffektivnosti or what I can not.suddenly someone will come in handy, I think the combination of fruit and alcohol should be attractive for both butterflies and beetles and not only jump.gif cool.gif

07.08.2009 2:20, Black Coleopter

Well, actually, sugar syrup is the basis for MANY baits. And there is added honey, beer, grated apples and peaches, etc., etc.

And let's talk about ethyl alcohol: is it worth noticing it as a retainer for traps, does it spoil the color of BEETLES

24.08.2009 16:47, Black Coleopter

Has anyone ever caught kvass???

My proportions were arbitrary, and in the film I did not notice that the components were weighed on the scales. The most important thing is the strong smell of braga.

Ethyl alcohol makes insects tough and difficult to fix.

Ethyl alcohol makes insects tough and difficult to fix.

In my opinion, the most terrible thing in this sense is FORMALIN!!! To somehow save yourself from this scourge, I suggest adding ethyl acetate in soaking, this is certainly not a panacea, but still...
What about glycerin??? What are his sv-va, how many traps can withstand?

P. S. May the moderator forgive me - I know that I am moving away from the topic of discussion. You can select a new topic "Fixers for traps"

I read with interest about glycerin, it can be poured into window traps along the way.

I often met goldsmiths and barbels in the sawmills. And I came up with the idea smile.gifto take the essential oil of some coniferous tree, dilute it with a solvent (so that it is not much consumed) and add it to traps or near them. In theory, mustaches and zlatki should arrive. Can someone thread already tried this?

Then it's better to dilute it with turpentine. It is also a solvent, and there is evidence that it attracts goldilocks by itself. I haven't tried it myself, so far in theory.

we must try.. My friend had an idea to collect oak juice in general and catch it instead of beer or wine..
