Less water, more vinegar, how much is not a pity - (ground beetles climb like crazy, even those that I did not see) Vodka with glycerin can not be poured (tested, expensive, but the result is the same) Pleasant fishing for everyone!

Dear Sanangel, please tell me where to pour vinegar, at the bottom of the soil trap?

Kru-u-that! And where else can it be poured? No, well, koneshna, if the trap has something else besides the bottom - then yes!

There may also be other types of aroma traps. I've demonstrated them here.

If you meant a separate container for vinegar in the trap, then you can do that, of course. However, if ground beetles fall into a dry trap, then most likely all the material will get tryndets (they will devour each other, and at the same time everything else). Do we need it?

Yes, it is necessary, of course, that the vinegar was separated, otherwise everyone will rest. I was also interested in the fact that ground beetles look at him like cats look at valerian. I will use it.
And also, I wonder if it's only ground beetles that like vinegar, or other beetles? I wonder if vinegar attracts beetles to crown traps or to "rectangular rags".

I add a little vinegar essence , there are also dung beetles, staphylinae, dead eaters.

I once wrote about this topic as a fixative and bait, I use a mixture of saturated salt solution and vinegar essence.

So ze le haut davar? I mean, not the same thing? The main thing is to approach the trap in time ,because in 4-5 days when the material sinks, decomposes, the head is there, the feet are here . Therefore, if you set traps, you should check them at most on the second day. And yet, as you caught what you need, you need to clean up the traps after yourself .

Good afternoon!!!!!!!
Please tell me if there are any other baits for attracting Click Beetles. I have heard that many species fly to the light, is it true ???

Israeli nutcrackers Lanelater judaicus and Pittonotus theseus
simoni fly to the light, if you are interested. Big ones.
One of them like that (emphasis on so!) gave me in the eye, which was oi-vava.
(I rode my bike at dusk, got it, but got there)

Pheromone traps for bark beetles are the best, although where to get them is unknown...

this is understandable, only they stopped hanging them already....

perhaps someone will find this observation useful: I once typed a whole bunch of Calosoma inquisitors in eggplants forgotten by collectors with already fermented birch sap

That's what came to me. I did an experiment, so I took an old jam + banana skins + water + yeast + a couple of days, then put the resulting liquid on a rag and hung it on a tree, as a result, it arrived around 22.00 here's what:

But when I touched it, the butterfly fell somewhere. Maybe something else was flying in, but I didn't check it anymore.

by the way, what kind of vinegar is needed for bait 8% or concentrated.

31.05.2011 11:51, fayst79

another option is a dung trap

and what is the bait-its composition

31.05.2011 19:29, Maksim M.

May 20 prepared a brew mix: star. jams, discounted raisins, sugar, old dry apples, 150-200g of baker's yeast, fermented-puffed for 4 days, my wife began to suspect that it was for internal use, because a 25-liter bottle with a glove on the throat, added padevnogo honey-sugar.I poured it on the tilted trunks of birch trees on the hot side of the forest edge-so that there was evaporation when the trunk was heated.Mram arrived in the afternoon.bronzes, 3 types of barbels-inquisitor, blue small, rag with spots, large female hornets-drunk did not fly away, only buzzed, at night there were 6-7 types of grandmothers from the standard set, 4 pcs of large black grave diggers were pleased.Do not pour the mash as it dries up during the day, plentifully before night.

the cake is already too dry

09.06.2011 22:11, Вишняков Алексей

it's a little dry already

NOTHING LIKE THAT! Scone naisvezhayshaya! Three minutes had passed since they'd laid it out. For manure specially stopped in the cowshed, where they safely collected a large package.

11.06.2011 13:00, Aleksandr Ermakov

It's clear. But obviously, still a lot(if not most) will remain in the thickness of the cake or burrow under it. It is more effective to take the entire substrate with a shovel and part of the soil and wash-disassemble.

I once conceived a" genius " natural experiment to measure the rate of utilization of herbivore manure by invertebrates. At the nearest horse base, I picked up three bags of fresh potato manure. I knead all this to a relatively homogeneous mass, packed it up and drummed it into plastic containers-molds(a little less than 150 baits came out - it was necessary for statistics, and there were too many accounting sites), weighed it, numbered it. And I took all this stuff to the "field", where I laid out these "cakes" on craft pieces of paper with numbers and ...
Two days later, the baits were left with "horns and legs". There were a lot of undigested oat grains in the horse farm manure. Feathered friends (and maybe tail-toothed ones, too) this was highly appreciated.
In samples of ten, beetles (staphylinidae and vodolyubov) I did find it. But there was nothing to weigh anyway

Greetings to all insect lovers! I really need the advice of "experienced" specialists... I'm planning a bug hunt in the near future, we're setting up a camp for just three days! There is information that the place is teeming with a variety of coleoptera... The goal is Lucanus cervus, and then what will happen... I plan to install traps, both earthen and in the crown.., I searched and reread almost everything.., but the question is open BAIT!!! Installing light traps will not work, there is no oak juice either, as well as an unfertilized female! QUESTION: what is the best way to attract a "deer"? If you can elaborate, thank you in advance!

22.06.2011 8:14, Seneka

What area are you going to? I could keep you company."

22.06.2011 15:45, Gryllotalpa

We are going in the first decade of July to one of the largest nature reserves in Bashkiria.., about the company.., he asked for it))) In fact, the trip is more of an intelligence nature, what and how I will report, if you want.., and there you can plan more thorough "hikes" ...

22.06.2011 19:35, Black Coleopter

I can suggest a trail. structure: Ingredients: 1 l. beer, honey, 1 l. water, yeast (it is most convenient to use instant dry yeast in sachets) 2-3 pack.
The beer is filled with 1 pack. yeast, put in a warm place. When the beer turns sour, and this will be clearly noticeable by the characteristic turbidity, they begin to prepare the second part of the bait. To do this, honey is dissolved in warm water, if desired, you can additionally add jam, sugar, etc. Then yeast is added to the resulting mixture, combined with sour beer and again put in a warm place. After 7-10 days, the bait will be ready.

Thank you for your advice, but how much honey should I use?, beer(strong, light) does this matter? Has anyone used this recipe-really, if so, what is the result?(who goes into the trap) ... and also - this mixture is not explosive? How "stable" is it given the dirt road...

22.06.2011 22:49, Black Coleopter

Honey by eye (2-3 tablespoons), beer is preferably "live", unpasteurized, but it is not everywhere, and it is expensive. I use "baklashechnoe". Not bad are the bronzes, in theory, and the deer should come. As for the "explosion hazard", you need to be more careful here. Last summer in the Voronezh region, when trying to open a 5-liter canister with bait, the lid flew off in an unknown direction, a fountain with a height of 3 m, I was pretty much filled with cooked r-rom.

Here is the latest information about bait fishing:

A scientist from Tanzania has created a powerful weapon to fight mosquitoes that spread infectious diseases: a trap that uses the smell of unwashed socks. According to Dr. Fredos Okoumou, an artificially created fragrance attracts four times more mosquitoes than natural odors coming from humans. According to him, the traps will work well with traditional means such as mosquito nets and repellents.

The devices that emit unpleasant odors are supposed to be placed outside the premises so that they destroy mosquitoes before they get inside. The doctor has already received a grant of $700 thousand for further development of his device.

I remembered how on a hike to wet smelly socks hung on a stick to dry-several hundred pigeons flew together! Somewhere at the friend even photos on a film remained... From my experience, moths are willing to fly to smelly socks!

They (butterflies) are attracted to minerals, as well as other insects.

Peru, the Amazon, and the bees that happily flocked to my dirty T-shirt.

IMGP0235.jpg

In Vietnam, butterflies flocked en masse to the droppings of various animals (there was even a photo somewhere, if I find it, I'll post it).

Hello!

What is the most effective way to lure daytime butterflies: soak rags with some kind of solution and hang them on all sorts of bushes, or put basins, troughs with a mixture? What is the best way to use the composition for cooking? So that you can cover the entire faunal composition as quickly as possible.

Above in the topic we have already discussed the bait for dung beetles.
Here is someone so collects. The article mentioned the number of 400 copies. confused.gif
