from what I talked to - a jar of cucumbers/mayonnaise and so on and so on at the bottom of a layer of wax/paraffin in which a few cyanide crystals are added. the season is open wink.gif
I don't know exactly what class of danger this poison belongs to, but it has always and everywhere been banned. It smells very nice, but I don't recommend sticking your nose too deep wink.gif
I suggest that everyone who wants to extract cyanide on the spot from mottled wink.gif  lol.gifflowers (joke) pages from the workshop on the analysis of the cyanogroup will be sent to "soap", and then suddenly false mottled flowers turn up lol.gif

I, at one time, when chloroform, ethyl acetate, etc. were unavailable, threw several cherry leaves crumpled in my fingers into the stain smile.gif

09.02.2014 18:52, Peter Khramov

Duc and how is this cyanide better than a regular stain with ethyl acetate, which is not mixed with the substrate, but is located inside the cork / lid?

09.02.2014 18:54, AGG

Denis, what are these terrible times? At the institute, there was always chloroform and ether, and then they didn't even know about EA. When they found out, they themselves began to buy it in the form of "weasel" but this is already without "uni".

#1 -speed of action
#2 - no condensation (at certain temperatures and EA purity)

ps all the time there is no need to write about the covers to the stains-they are even worse than they seemed at first glance frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif

Is this about which covers are even worse than they seemed?

Always dry inside. It is not necessary to charge, unlike ethyl acetate, which is constantly exhausted during the fishing process. The headstock is immobilized very quickly, then shaken out and punctured. The one I used was given to Vadim by German entomotourists. It is a cylindrical object. a plastic jar with a pressed cyanide stopper on the bottom and a lapped lid. That's where to get it, I don't know, I would buy a few.

09.02.2014 22:56, Peter Khramov

Well, with cyanide-it's clear that nowhere. There are rather prospects for upgrading the ethyl acetate version in the direction of neutralizing its shortcomings.

From many years of experience, we have learned once and for all that it is impossible to stain DAYTIME butterflies in the stain: the wing color fades and they can get wet (pigeons)... Always either push in a net or prick with ammonia / alcohol (such as thick heads). We also inject all large insects with an insulin syringe... quickly, efficiently and on the mattress they remain "fresh" for a very long time (and in the refrigerator they can lie for months in a "pioneer" / that is, always ready to spread out state)! In the "square" mordants, a moth of a different mustache can break into trash while it dies - and if you spray a lot of poison... it will lock. I often do this, kill butterflies quickly and inject them with an insulin syringe with alcohol or diluted ammonia... But, be careful with ammonia (especially when catching "under the fly") - there may be unpleasant incidents!
And the stain for small bees can also be in the form of a black plastic round case for photographic film... This is how Seryoga Shibaev catches them, very cleverly. About the handle for the entomological net - it should be smooth without this "ski-and-field" rubber handle, but at the end the handle should be rough and with a knob for emphasis. And the joints of the "stick / handle" should be strictly and securely fixed-and not unfold from the ejection of the hand with the net. About different poisons, I have a lot of friends who can not stand the smell of ether. Yes, and ethyl acetate is very annoying (+harmful to the body). About cyanide in general I will keep silent - in the Russian Federation it is banned, and "in total" in microdoses of health you will not add.

A tiny nuance-butterflies stained with ethyl acetate are UNSUITABLE for gene analysis.

10.02.2014 13:57, Valentinus

A tiny nuance-butterflies stained with ethyl acetate are UNSUITABLE for gene analysis.

Who told you that?
I pass all the butterflies through a stain with ethyl acetate. 2-3 dozens were sequenced. ALL worked out!
In my opinion, the recommendations on Bold systems, on the contrary, indicate that chemistry is welcome.

10.02.2014 14:38, Penzyak

In particular, this is what Sviridov A.V. asked me to do for the scoop. It was always welcome to put the object/part in alcohol (they even asked for it in a dry one-God, I remember with a shudder how I wore copper vitriol to the chemists for roasting, hermetically bottled it, and then filled it with alcohol ...). Do you need/need other preservatives??

At the expense of moreniya diaries... Well I do not know... the samples were still in those days when they were starved with ether... BUT, there is one aspect why I don't use morse diaries... With experience, I put pressure on butterflies not on the "capercaillie" but let's say "so as not to twitch" - I am a sinner, I like to straighten the "fresh"... In an envelope, box and in the refrigerator, they are kept soft and fresh for up to two weeks.

People, bags for butterflies with a side of about 12 cm are needed or this is already too much?

27.02.2014 23:08, Peter Khramov

Regarding micro-tubes: now I tried to attach a two-ruble test tube http://lepstore.ru/catalog/1584 on a stainless steel pin #3 just for the bend between the cork and the test tube. For me, everything is very normal, the test tube does not rotate around the pin and the lid of the test tube does not open. Who has such test tubes-try this option and unsubscribe pliz, whether everything works fine. If you don't have it, I can send it to you for free for the test, please contact us. If everything is confirmed, there will be a very affordable option for storing genitals and other fallen off paws.
I tested it myself with pin numbers 1, 2, 3 and asked people to test it. Everything was confirmed, it is quite possible to use on such pins.
It looks like this: http://lepstore.ru/catalog/1584
and so: http://lepstore.ru/catalog/1749
(see additional photos on these pages).

OK, I understand, we sell exclusively by the piece :-- ) Paper, however, reptiles. But it seems nothing, not clingy.

28.02.2014 13:02, Wild Yuri

Aa... I didn't understand. Do you sell them? Maybe I'll buy it. Let us know how much, in PM.

28.02.2014 14:53, Peter Khramov

Yes, there is no secret like for lichki :-- ) Here, they put it up recently: http://lepstore.ru/catalog/1751 I can drop a dozen or two for a review, opinions are always interesting.

Peter, please tell me. I didn't find anything about chemistry on Lepstore. Is there ethyl acetate or some other poison available? If not, is it planned to appear? And the price is interested in.

28.02.2014 19:50, Peter Khramov

Ethyl acetate will be available again closer to the season. Prices in the region of 170 re per 100 ml and in the region of 500 re per 1 liter, if suppliers do not increase much compared to last year.

Peter, have you received any new equipment?

07.04.2014 14:49, Peter Khramov

Raggedy isn't here yet. As soon as we test the preliminary versions, and the serial samples are ready, I will unsubscribe here.

17.04.2014 15:41, Peter Khramov

There is a box for the test.
Beech, light, 30x40x6 cm, with glass, without any negative "features", i.e. high-quality coating, excellent lapping of the lid to the box, tightness, everything is in order.
There's only one thing left.
I'll give it back for 400 rubles plus a review. Preferably in Moscow (I can cross paths somewhere) or in not very remote regions, because I collect reviews as soon as possible.

I would love to test it, there will be no problems with an urgent review)))

half of the season is over, and EA is still missing weep.gif

11.05.2014 22:40, Peter Khramov

The supplier we started working with stopped filling small containers. Now we are looking for another one.

13.05.2014 13:38, Peter Khramov

Next week it will be.

Peter, have you received any new equipment?

The season has started however... ???

14.05.2014 17:38, Peter Khramov

I am doing my best to launch new productions as soon as possible. But there are regular fakaps, because of which the braking continues. As soon as it appears (it should be in May, but on the other hand, it should have been in April, but not yet) - I'll let you know right away.

07.06.2014 0:51, Peter Khramov

Now we deliver entomological equipment to pick-up points in Simferopol and Sevastopol. Delivery cost-from 290 rubles.

Ethyl acetate wildly slowed down, but still now there is. Lightweight Italian bottles made of chemically resistant plastic, volume 125, 250 and 500 ml. Fans of narrow necks use the same ones as mordants, so it may well turn out to kill two birds with one stone.

17.06.2014 9:57, Bianor

Can I pay you as with Ozone - at the time of pickup?

Can I pay you as with Ozone - at the time of pickup?
Of course, that's what customers usually pay for. Prepayment is only required for orders sent via Russian Post. But we get almost anywhere without the participation of this organization.

03.07.2014 18:41, Peter Khramov

There are a couple of traps of malez, I'm interested in their opinion. First of all-on the quality of the fabric. Color: one is entirely white, the other is entirely black. If there is an opportunity to meet in Moscow - I can transfer it for free to rent for the test (with a refund) or with a further purchase if you need it.

10.07.2014 16:27, Peter Khramov

People who order from the Crimea, if you have a Ukrainian phone number, at least leave your mail so that you can contact them somehow...

27.07.2014 12:04, Peter Khramov

There are laboratory glass beads as a substrate for transferring/storing / staining beetles on expeditions. To whom it is relevant - I will send it for free for a review.

11.08.2014 13:40, Peter Khramov

There are about 500 mixed entomological pins numbers 5 and 6 (in one package). Of these, about 400 are black and a hundred are stainless steel. These are ordinary Entosphinx pins, their only disadvantage is that they are mixed up with each other.
Who is registered on Lepidoptera.ru -- I'll give you the whole package for free. Just send a review to the Lepstore website about these sizes.
Who is not registered for Modeling, but registered for Molbiol - I will give the entire package for 200 re with the same conditions for reviews.
To whom it is relevant - In Moscow I can either meet or send delivery, to other cities-delivery.
Write/call to your personal account or email address main#lepidoptera.ru, here in this topic or in the topic on Lepidopter http://lepidoptera.ru/community/18962.

15.08.2014 18:02, Peter Khramov

The pins were taken away.
