I'm really, really sorry shuffle.gif! I am one of the collectors who still prick beetles (large and medium-sized). But was there really nothing better for this copy than a pin for fastening folded men's shirts confused.gif?!

Yeah, on P. cuprea metallica. Only the topic somehow imperceptibly transformed into the "Definition of bronzes", which is in vain, IMHO...

While I was traveling around Russia, such a creature emerged from the larva at home (the larva was taken in the village of Kapriyany)
It reminds me of the creature from Nimoren that I exhibited earlier..

doubts only about the 5th and last, they may be cuprina, or maybe cuprea.
Somewhere there were differences - you need to look at the process of the mid-chest.

confused.gif It looks like Potosia fieberi (Kraatz, 1880), but it doesn't look like it?
Transcarpathian region. roc, Vinogradova. Black Mountain

In my opinion, P. fieberi, despite the lack of light bandages on the hips. Ventrally difficult to confuse with something.

Gentlemen, who can tell by what characteristics Potosia cuprina can be distinguished from Potosia hieroglyphica? And then I have a huge series of about 100 beetles from Volgograd (Volga-Akhtuba floodplain) There are suggestions that there may be 4 species P. hieroglyphica, P. cuprina, P. metallica volhyniensis, P. caucasica.

21.07.2011 22:53, Kemist

It is unlikely that there will be P. caucasica, it has a completely different range. And it is desirable to see its standard instances. Most likely the majority of P. hieroglyphica. I would like to see images of beetles.

21.07.2011 23:06, bugslov

They are almost all alive, so this is a bit problematic, and the hand does not rise to starve shuffle.gif

And what are the current ranges of P. hieroglyphica and P. cuprina? Otherwise, according to Medvedev, none of these bronzes should live in Volgograd at all.
