The male in the upper photo was described as Stracena promelaena Holland, 1893.
The male in the second photo is described as Stracena flavescens Aurivillius, 1925. The species is interesting because, in addition to a pronounced sexual dimorphism, there is a male trimorphism. This is the only known case for the family where males of the same species fly in three forms.

Nikolai, do you have Nygmia guttulata on the mainland?

Nikolai, do you have Nygmia guttulata on the mainland?

The Japanese lead from mainland Malaysia. Карту с сайта "http://www.jpmoth.org/~dmoth/Digital_Moths_of_Asia/90_NOCTUOIDEA/02_EREBIDAE/01_LYMANTRIINAE/framepage%20Lymantriinae.html" прилагаю. The Philippines is also listed there. But the male from the island of Leyte shown on this site even looks too different from the typical Nygmia guttulata In
Holloway distribution - "Sundaland". This most likely includes mainland Malaysia.

The Japanese can call" Zundaland " Malay Sabah, in northern Borneo.
Mainland Malaysia, however, should be "Malaya".
In general, I saw such nigmias from Indochina, so I asked.

Excuse me, gentlemen interested colleagues, but I would very much recommend - without pressure, however-to be as critical as possible of any information posted on the web, especially on volnyankam and especially from Japanese sites and sites "about everything". I would very much like to see the data on distribution and statuses confirmed by some own research. Otherwise, just randomly posted definitions can do more harm than help. On the one hand, it's nice that the page on volnyanki is constantly updated, but the further I look at the definitions , the more doubts I have about their correctness, especially in groups that have never been reviewed. Maybe it's time to start revising the accumulated material. Even Holloway has quite a few incorrect definitions. What can I say, .. it happens, he was the first to start these blockages razgr** * ((((

Holloway even has "awesome" pictures. There are numerous arctornis almost on the same face. Well, the quality of printing still.
About the "Waves of China" in general, you can add a song!

I agree that the Nygmiini tribe in Southeast Asia is still very poorly studied. That is why I practically do not exhibit its representatives here. I still decided to exhibit the material from Borneo, based on Holloway's work. Yes, there are probably some mistakes in it, but it represents a huge step forward in the study of the family and, in my opinion, allows us to use the material collected in Sabah with a certain degree of confidence.
I gave the Japanese site as one of the sources of information in response to a question about the distribution of the species, but the source, alas, is not very reliable. It's really full of inaccuracies even in the definition of exposed instances, not to mention maps.
In this topic, I try to spread the material determined on the basis of the first descriptions. The most reliable definition, of course, should be based on working with types, so I probably defined some taxa incorrectlyfrown.gif. I try to keep their number to a minimum and put here only what I am more or less sure of. I would be grateful for any corrections to the definitions.

Yeah. I had high hopes for the Volnyanki of China, and when I discovered this work, I was somewhat despondent. I can't say anything about the text, since I don't speak Chinese, but there is a lot of confusion in the tables, and the definition of many taxa does not inspire confidence.

Leucoma candida Staudinger, 1892
Male and female-Primorye, Russia leg. Kozloff
This species is very similar to the previous one and flies together with it in Siberia (Altai, Yakutia), most likely in Primorye. Both species are found in Japan. Externally, you can distinguish them by putting them on a dark background. In L. salicis, the scales on the wings are much less frequent and the dark background will be very translucent. In L. candida, the deposition of white scales on the wings is much thicker.

Did you collect Leucoma salicis in Primorye? And then in the Blue catalog for this region, the question mark is.
