Two species of the genus Oxoia Kiriakoff, 1967-smaragdiplena and viridipicta-have already been published in our section. There are about three of them in the genus.

Here, in fact, is the third view

Oxoia irrorativiridis (Bethune-Baker, 1904)
The Papua New Guinea Arfak
is a species found in New Guinea and nearby small islands.
Much larger than their relatives

To Sergey Didenko-thank you for the material!

I don't think we've been able to identify this specimen here before the species.
Now, thanks to a new book on South Africa, we can do it. cool.gif

Despite the repeated "chewing" here of the differences between the species of the genus, i.e. European ones, these ones confuse me with the shape of the sling! I didn't see anything similar after reviewing everything here. Or is this not a matter of principle? Then is it Furcula bifida? smile.gif

Thanks! Sure.

Here such beauties were caught in the swamps of the island of Khortytsia in Zaporozhye. I understand Furcula aeruginosa, if wrong please correct.

From top to bottom:
1. this is more likely a relative of the scoop (or Erebid, whoever they are), something like Calyptra

2. Caschara punctifera (Walker, 1862)

3. Kamalia timorensis (Kiriakoff, 1970)

In general, I deleted the previous collage, it's too small.
The collage is dedicated to the differences between the Far Eastern Pterostoma, of which 2 species live there-P. griseum and P. gigantina
.
Pterostoma griseum (Bremer, 1861) and Pterostoma gigantina Staudinger, 1892 - all specimens from Primorye
Pterostoma sinica Moore, 1877 have not been reliably collected, although it lives in most of Eastern China. The specimens depicted are from Central China

And now let's see some more "from the casket, identical from the face"

Previously, they appeared as a separate genus Allata Walker, 1862. They are now a subgenus in Spatalia Hubner, 1819.
Well, doubtful, in my, I emphasize, amateur opinion. In Spatalia proper, sexual dimorphism is not so pronounced (see above).
Such as S. duplius, S. benderi, S. argentifera, S. sikkima, and S. raquelae are very similar to each other, but they differ significantly in antenna structure.

Spatalia argentifera (Walker, 1862) - Indochina and Malay Peninsula, Sunda Islands

Spatalia duplius (Schintlmeister, 2007) - SE China, Indochina and Sunda Islands

Spatalia benderi (Dierl, 1976) - SE China, Indochina and Sunda Islands

Spatalia raquelae (Schintlmeister, 1993 ) - endemic to the Philippines

Spatalia sikkima (Moore, 1879) - India, Nepal, SE China, Indochina and Sunda Islands, Philippines

Spatalia laticostalis Hampson, 1900 - South and South Asia, north to the Qin-Lin Mountains

Spatalia violaceus (Schintlmeister, 1997) - Indochina, SW China

They can and do fly together. There are at least 5 other species in the Indo-Australian region, including New Guinea and Australia.

As a New Year's card.

Above - Tarsolepis inscius Schintlmeister, 1997
North Vietnam. leg. dimVa. It lives in the low-mountain primary (and secondary good condition) forests of northern Vietnam and the very south of Yunnan.

Below - Tarsolepis vadimi Morozov, 2016, paratype.
Central Vietnam. leg. dimVa. It also lives in well-preserved low-mountain forests, but in the center and south of Vietnam. Externally, it differs slightly from T. inscius, but in general, it is noticeable. Very well differs in the structure of the genitals.

In the Philippines, on the island of Mindanao, a similar T. kochi Semper, 1892, also lives in barely preserved primary forests

From Olkhon to Felina. Felina's drawing is more contrasting and more pronounced. The photo is already in the topic.
Further, with Kunashir, everything is simple:
Pheosiopsis cinerea
Nerice bipartita
Nerice shigerosugii
Ptilodon ladislai
Ptilodon saturata hoegei
Epodonta lineata
Peridea oberthueri
Shaka atrovittata

Nothing particularly prevents it from spreading further west.
Sergey, have you received my letter?

On the site jpmoth.org a caterpillar is shown. It differs from vinula.

Colleagues, if necessary, I will post a photo of imago vinula and Felina in comparison.

Yes, Pavel, thank you for your letter.

10.01.2017 23:54, Pavel Morozov

Here you go.
Vinula on the left, Felina on the right. Vinula from the Moscow region, Felina from Transbaikalia.

A specimen from Olkhon can also be a vinula, and an Altaic specimen can be any of the three (vinula, felina, przewalskyi). Felina differs well from the rest in the structure of the genitals.

And another thing: felina is indicated for the Altai by Alexander Shintlmeister, but vinula according to the same author is not east of the Altai (2008). Doubtful, in my opinion.

Przewalski is definitely available in Altai cool.gif

But up to the pile.
Cerura przewalskyi (Alpheraky, 1882)
SE Kazakhstan, Or. In principle, the floodplain of the Ili River is the closest to the type locality ("Kouldja, prés du Khorgosse"). Khorgos is a city and river of the same name (right tributary of Ili) on the border of Kazakhstan and China.
