Alexander, what do you think about this butterfly ?
Southern Primorye, Tigrovy, 1st decade of May 1990

I would call it A. gnoma

Yes, gnoma, with a high degree of probability. The usual dark gray transverse stripe on both wings of this species is well spelled out, the eyes of the hind wing in a clear black ring, the general tone and texture of the wings with a slightly raised scaly cover, all this distinguishes it quite well from sjogvisti.
Of course, the definition is carried out on the photo, so I hope for the adequacy of transmitting all the nuances of the specimen, I wonder if there is any series from this point or a female, or if this specimen is isolated from the mass of those who flew in from tavisty? Here, judging by the quality-output, then there is no photo of Gus, it also has good differences.

Only 2 butterflies (males) were caught, one per night; since these were the last nights of fishing, then .... alas, only these specimens were caught.. It looks like the season has just started (fishing time is until May 15), so the butterfly is "clean". I have seen a sufficient number of sjogvisti in other places, but there was no such plan of butterflies (at least, I was guided by transverse stripes). A. artemis came across, and these two were the only ones.
Thanks for the definition.

For the company, there are still a couple of our autumn saturnias.
Both fly in September and October.

The first is Rhodinia jankowskii (Oberthur, 1880)
Primorsky Krai, Khasansky district, leg. Cajarc
Feeding caterpillars on Amur velvet and oak. In artificial conditions, it also eats willow.
It is distributed in the south of the Far East, in China and Korea.

Males are very variable, unlike Jankowski, they are very different from females.
The caterpillar feeds on oak and other deciduous trees.
It is known from the Amur and Primorye regions, Korea, Japan and China.

If the caterpillars are infected with viral diseases, you can use the method of spraying the feed plant with antibiotics to treat the caterpillars of some species of Saturniidae. This photo clearly shows the effects of using antibiotics at the caterpillar stage.
