Who met with Bocharnikov's training camps in these places? You are interested in the current names of these points or coordinates. Googling didn't do much good.

Myn-dan-sha.
I do not know where it is, you need to search on the Internet, but there is one link that pops up in Google -
"Two roads converged near the town of Zha-ya-cheng-Myn-dan-sha and Gui-te-sha"
Or you will have to read the diaries of YY.

One more question... Label from Eversmann's copy. I can't even roughly make out what it says

1. This is not Eversmann's handwriting
2. Kalmu:kken Steppe-Volga-Ural interfluve
Can you find out what kind of view?

I also have a question about decoding label data
As a result of Googling the first photo, I didn't get any further than "Tibet"

On the second - the town of Hanmi could not be found

Help, who can do what! smile.gif

Denis, this is a great puzzle! I think so...

By the first label: China, Tibet Autonomous Region, Shang Chayu

http://cn.geoview.info/shang_chayu,1280021

or

http://mapcarta.com/14905720

For the second one: China, Tibet Autonomous Region, Motuo County, Hanmi Waterfall...2-5 km.

Friends, help me decipher the locale somewhere in the Indian Himalayas. label.jpg

Interesting. Label with the inscription " K. Gemelyan" indicates that the instance belongs to the Gemelyan collection. I don't have exact information about it, but in the ZIN collection there are such labels on at least some beetles from the Caucasus, and the collections are from the end of the 19th century. It can be assumed that the collection was collected in the last quarter of the 19th century, possibly in the beginning of the 20th century, after which some or all of it ended up in the ZIN (I don't know how - bequeathed, donated, purchased, etc.). People with the surname Gemelyan have lived and owned a house in St. Petersburg since at least the 30s-40s of the 19th century. For sure, you can get more accurate information in the ZIN. Apparently, it has no direct relation to the locale.
