Well, in this case, read this topic (maybe you will find the answer) here and photos of her were in my opinion.

Dear experts,
All hope is left only for you. Got beetles in the apartment. After collecting a few pieces, I applied to the biological faculties of the pedagogical Institute and the agricultural academy, to the city and regional sanitary stations. But no one gave a definite answer. Some said it was a bread grinder, others a shashel, but none of them could be sure, and all said it was the first time they had ever seen such a beetle.
They appeared up to a year ago as rare individuals, but now they are simply overwhelming! They were first discovered in the kitchen on the window frames, but gradually occupied the entire apartment. Now they are localized mainly on the ceiling.
We went through all the food products that were already stored in closed containers - there was nothing suspicious there. No small holes were found in the tree either.
They say that if this is a furniture grinder, then you should hear some sounds of their vital activity, crackling - we don't have anything like that. Perhaps this is important: the apartment is located on the third floor of a three-story building, we are quite warm, dry and clean; there are no animals or plants.
I attach a number of photos that were taken, unfortunately, without sufficient magnification and clarity, but, alas, this is all there is. If necessary, I can post the originals. The photos are enlarged and made as bright as possible so that you can see at least some details. As a result, the color has changed a lot. In fact, the beetle is dark brown, almost black, in color. In the photos, dead beetles, in the live form, their head protrudes more forward and the antennae are clearly visible. Younger individuals are thinner in volume with clearly visible antennae and legs. The beetle is quite slow, although it likes to fly. It has a fairly hard coating, when crushed, a crack can be heard. Sometimes, if you touch a beetle, for a while it "pretends" to be dead, it becomes immobilized. The impression is that they like the light, because they are often located near the fluorescent lamp and on the windows.
Please, if there are people who know what these beetles are and how to deal with them, please respond! It's just that there are no other ways to determine what kind of creation it is, and all the opportunities available in our city have been used. If things continue at the same pace, our apartment will turn into a piece of moth-infested taiga!

2Jaydo - what city do you live in? M. B. there also lives someone from forumchan, who can help. The bread grinder Stegobium paniceum (L.) lives mainly in food, can migrate from neighbors, and the Smirnov's leatherworm Attagenus smirnovi Zhant. in the larval stage, it lives in the dust behind baseboards, under floorboards, and under furniture... Search and find...

04.06.2010 12:38, Victor Titov

I fully agree with the definition of Fornax13 and with Elizar's information on the biology of these two beetles. I can only add that Stegobium paniceum can develop in all kinds of plant products, including dried medicinal plants, dried herbs, dried mushrooms, etc.

Hello!

Please tell me what kind of insects live on the balcony, they chose it about five years ago, but the number of them then somehow did not bother, and there was practically nothing significant on the balcony then, it was almost empty, so I did not betray them. Two years ago, the balcony was glazed, but not insulated, the outer walls were very cold in winter, and in the spring they thawed out, covered with black spots, in March I washed everything, wiped it dry, put a heater there for a few days, sort of dried it, and with a calm soul I sent my Fuchsia collection there, and then these boogers with with the onset of heat, they dispersed, it didn't seem to be much, but yesterday I go out on the balcony, water the flowers, and I'm FREAKING out, there are just a lot of these boogers there, they are everywhere on concrete walls, on the windowsill, on flower pots, on the closet, on things (especially a lot on white bags and boxes), in general, all of them it's plastered on, and I'm panicking right away, my hands are shaking and my eye is twitching weep.gif.

These insects are about 1 mm. gray-brown in color, some are slightly larger, darker, there are also less almost transparent, like three pairs of legs, and antennae, which they actively move, run very quickly, yesterday I caught several pieces with tape and photographed them.

Please tell mol.gifme if they will not move into the apartment, how harmful they are to plants and the cat (he likes to walk on the balcony, and they sometimes crawl on it, but in my opinion fleetingly, then run away to the sides), well, in general, how to get rid of them, they got boogers, as I see them, it starts to shake, maybe who can advise you something wise, eh ?

I apologize for the photo, I couldn't take a bigger picture.

Yusika - You have some hay eaters living on your balcony. They feed on lower mushrooms - these are the black spots that were on the balcony and they still need high humidity. Neither for fuchsias, nor for the cat, hay eaters are dangerous. Control measures - thoroughly dry the balcony, you can also treat it with some kind of spray that destroys crawling insects. But such a spray can cause burns on plants and is not safe for the cat.

Hi.
My mother saw a 1.5-2 cm black centipede in the bathroom about two years ago, with short legs of the same thickness along the entire length of the body. She called it almost rectangular, said that it ran fast and looked like it was "glossy" from above.
My mother knows the scalefish well - it's not her. What is it? Someone crawled in from the street? My mother lives on the 5th floor.

Woodlouse can? But they are mostly gray. Three more options: kiwsak, flycatcher, and drupe (I'll go with this description confused.giflater ) smile.gif

And not the crickets randomly (it would be nice to have a photo in focus, make a few, put only the one that is in focus).
You don't have to be afraid of them anyway, they're harmless.
What floor do you live on and in what country (if it's not a secret)?

20.06.2010 8:38, bober

Like a black cockroach this, crushed a little smile.gif

20.06.2010 13:23, chumscrabber

Yes, you have to push.
I live in Ukraine, I have a second floor.
I just went out under the entrance and noticed that there were a lot of them under the stone lying nearby)
As soon as I catch another one, I'll post a photo.

This is a male Blatta orientalis, colloquially a black cockroach.
You are lucky wink.gif, but in St. Petersburg it is very rare.

Can you tell me what to poison him with and how he got into the apartment ?
I really want to get rid of them)
Please tell me, is it possible that these black cockroaches fly in the window ? my window is located directly above their dwelling(2nd floor) or maybe they run through the ventilation? =)

20.06.2010 14:10, bober

they usually climb through the sewer(bath, toilet) and so very cool creatures.... get a hedgehog it will eat them, but stomp at night will be strong smile.gif

20.06.2010 14:14, chumscrabber

where can I get a hedgehog ? smile.gif
is there any other way ? is there any chemistry there ?

20.06.2010 14:48, Shtil

Cockroaches usually enter the apartment through ventilation, from the entrance through cracks, if it's summer, then through the window. Mostly from neighbors and from the garbage chute. The best way is chemical, go to any farm. shop (seeds, agricultural technologies, etc.) There is always an assortment, choose what you like-baits, gels, aerosols .... Do not be afraid much, there are quite effective and safe drugs. For example, I take Alstar, it works well. At the market and stalls, you should not take it, they can sell something left. In principle, black cockroaches are quite easy to remove, unlike Prussians. You can even manually turn on the lights abruptly at night and start a safari, but here you will need time and nerves...

guys tell me what kind of animal? lives in the bathroom!

In my apartment, similar individuals fly in the shower in the spring, I observed a cluster of these animals between the window frames of my friends and saw them in the damp basement of a house in Yalta (water leaks and the sewer is often drained).
But!!! These are not psychids, because their caterpillars are sun-loving and herbivorous.
And the size of adults of unidentified animals is rather small (3-5 mm).

I will try to provide photos of the animals of Yalta in the near future.

Please help me identify a couple of beetles according to the description =)
1. Collected on burdock leaves, the body is oval, strongly flattened, all bright green on top, black on the bottom. The size is about 7 mm.
2. Some kind of crunch (exactly crunch), but I have not seen such before-all with a green tint, covered with very small velvety hairs of light green color on top.
Collected in the Moscow region.

Even from the photo to determine in many cases - a thankless task. Moreover, according to the description.
But still:
1. It is safe to say that this is a leaf beetle from the genus Cassida. And it is very difficult to get to the type of them and from the photo.
2. 90% Rhombonyx holosericea (compare with the image at the link http://www.zin.ru/ANIMALIA/Coleoptera/rus/rhoholas.htm ).
However, the variant with this form of Anomala dubia is not excluded (link to the image - http://www.zin.ru/ANIMALIA/Coleoptera/rus/anodubdg.htm ).

Rhombonyx holosericea is very rare in the Moscow region, known from a few isolated specimens. Therefore, I strongly doubt such a large percentage of probability.

Rather, this is not a "crunch". a hoplia....

Yes, Rhombonyx is very rare in the Moscow region. But it does occur. And found Elion(om), as I understand it, in a single copy. So it is impossible to exclude the discovery of this particular beetle. At the same time, I was guided by the description - "all with a green tint". Who else of the" crushers " found in the Moscow region, except Rhombonyx, all green casts? Unless Anomala dubia has variations. Some form of Phyllopertha horticola? Unlikely...
And Hoplia - it is also without low tide, and it is covered all over with scales. However, the description is always subjective, so if Elion looks into the topic, let him compare it with hoplia smile.gifHere is the link:
http://www.zin.ru/ANIMALIA/Coleoptera/rus/hopparpo.htm

24.06.2010 15:27, Elion

It looks more like a hoplia in size, but I didn't find the same one in the atlas. Today I will try to take a picture in the evening and post it here. Unfortunately, the beetle has become somewhat worn out during this time, but I hope it will still be possible to determine. (((
