Hello! Tonight in the bathroom, behind the toilet bowl, they found black worms, thin, small no more than 8 mm, without legs. We were away from home for several days, during which time a small puddle dripped from the cold water pipe and these creatures wriggled there in a scattering. There is no way to take a picture of them that are too small. Please tell me what it can be and how to display it? We have a small child in the bath now afraid to go in.

Nda ... ah, you can only see some k**shku on a large sheet of paper and no more... What can you tell from these photos???
Don't you really have Photoshop or any other (free) image editing software? If not, then write to me and I'll give you a link to free, very convenient programs, such as FastStone and the like, where you can crop and resize. rotate images, etc. The main thing is not to be lazy and do not shoot on a mobile phone. smile.gif))

It's less than a millimeter in size. How else can I remove them? I don't have any photoshop skills ((((

Well, only a macro lens or a good digital bottle holder will help here (I'm not hinting at a microscope). Programs will only help you trim unnecessary fields (field information content=0), as well as add / decrease brightness/contrast/colors, etc., i.e. improve the perception of photos.

I couldn't stand this stuff and etched it. Could you tell me what size and roughly how cockroach larvae look like? Just after the bullying, I was very surprised to see dead cockroaches on the floor. So I think maybe it was small cockroaches.

Well, I was very interested in one midge. It is approximately 4 mm long. Can you tell me what kind of creature it is?

Yes, this is them, definitely. Tell me, where are they even common? Here they are, as I understand it, "not local".

Do you think that if I observe them continuously for ten years, then they probably have already become the norm of the local fauna? And do you think they've been here before? There don't seem to be any such impressions. Maybe earlier in floods?

Here they also wrote that they saw such people in Chita. Do you think this is possible? In general, can they live in Siberia? Or is it not?

Wikipedia says that they prefer temperatures around +29. That's probably why I've only seen them before in the heat of summer, but now they've adapted, don't you think?

14.08.2012 8:44, Shtil

They are already widespread in many placessmile.gif. It is believed that this particular species is native to tropical Africa. Around 1625 (as the Anglican wikipedia teaches), it was brought to the New World and everything was wrapped up...

I already wrote above that the species is kept by terrariumists as a feed. Now it's fashionable - when you have chameleons with monitor lizards in the breadbox live, and the larvae of the first age of the periplanets are very small. Through the slits go to free bread. Accordingly, he is at least in Chita, even in Yakutsk, if it is warm in the houses in winter, he will feel normal. And in the summer, respectively, the species can live in the "open ground".

And about the norm of the local fauna... Now, after the next election, they will announce to us that centralized heating is a Busurman new model, and real homely Cossacks are warming up, dancing a combat hopak, and we will not have not only periplanets in our homes, but also a bunch of relatives and dear "neighbors".

It is approximately 2 mm long and brown in color. 6 legs 2 antennae the body consists of 3 parts, as it were, itself oblong in shape. Please help me, who are they? Removed all the flowers and still! In the kitchen they are not in the bath, too! I have a small baby, yesterday I found a bug in a diaper that was hanging on the crib!!!

Hello! Podskajmte, what for a beetle on a photo? I suspect that this is a large flour crunch. Over the past 4 days, 4 beetles were found with an interval of one day. Except for one, all were found in the same area (under the kitchen table on the floor) and two of them showed no signs of life (lying on their backs), one beetle was running quite cheerfully.
What do they need in the kitchen, if it's khrushchaks? After all, no flour is available, and all other cereals are absent. Can there be such a situation that someone poisons them (or other insects, for example, cockroaches), and they run away to the neighbors? And what is this individual dangerous to humans?

This is a useful and harmless beetle from the ground beetle family (Sarabidae), but why it came to your home is not clear, it may have flown into the light through an open window.

AGG, but that's right-there is something similar! and so they looked like Khrushchak! all the power is in the details)) but here on the windows I have grids, are they looking for cracks and so they get inside?
yes, the first floor, can they crawl out of the basement, for example? what they are useful for, I do not understand, so in a city apartment from them, for sure, no benefit can be expected...

Thank you so much for your answers!

18.08.2012 16:19, Fifakke

They look like both a rice eater and a flour eater! But how do you find their nests now? Are they dangerous for humans?

We never saw them in the kitchen, only in the living rooms. Option can be from the balcony still, but there are no products!(((

18.08.2012 16:52, captolabrus

Do not forget that the adult insect, in the adult stage, unlike the larva ,flies far from the feeding place, expands its range. View all stocks of cereals, flour, any flakes, dried fruits, look for products of vital activity of their larvae.

Thank you, I will search everywhere. Are these beetles dangerous? Just 2 times a day I find them on the bed, crawling under the pillows!

18.08.2012 17:12, captolabrus

No, the beetles themselves are not dangerous. Allergies can be caused by waste products. But even then, not everyone has it.

Well, that's just somehow strange, the kitchen is quite far from the room, the room has a balcony (loggia), but cereals are not stored there, etc. We often find their corpses and live ones on the floor under the windowsills.

18.08.2012 19:28, captolabrus

Most likely, they fly to the light from the window or from the balcony opening, light is space, freedom . Freedom of movement in search of new habitats, partners, and food resources. I think that's exactly what they were aiming for.

So do they fly? I thought they were just crawling!

18.08.2012 22:33, captolabrus

It is not necessary to be able to fly, but to strive for the light. But as a rule, adult insects have wings and the ability to fly.

not that it's anything similar, and it is, if only a couple more details, then the species would have been accurately determined, but the fact remains-a ground beetle. she came to the light or is looking for a place to spend the winter. they'll always find a way through. in the apartment, of course, they are of no use, so catch-do not be afraid not to bite - and go outside, and there they will eat up all sorts of pests of agricultural crops, etc. wink.gif
PS You would at least write where it all happens...

bread, breadcrumbs, bran, cereals, flour, nuts, etc. absolutely correctly you noticed "under the wallpaper"-they are currently laughing wallpaper glue, if you are so hard with cereals, but still it is worth checking stocks and talking to neighbors, although they usually refuse to answer such questions. I myself work at the regional disinfection station and face similar situations every day wink.gif

AGG, thank you for your reply. sorry that I didn't immediately specify the coordinates of the "scene of the incident" - this is in the north-east of Moscow, the most ordinary apartment, in a residential area. the situation, as far as I can already understand, is aggravated by the first floor)) so there are enough animals here, even in excess. there are also spiders - with long legs, and a caterpillar came across, and something that looks like a centipede-it's a pity you can't take a picture of them all in time)

don't panic! this is the most important umnik.gifthing with all the confidence of a disinfector, I can assure you that in addition to bed beetles (and now they are just an invasion in central Russia) and fleas in the basement, from homeless cats that are fed by grandmothers, and then they say that these are "EARTH FLEAS" - which do not exist in nature, but only the name of one of them the presence of "garden fleas" - leaf beetles-does not threaten you with anything.
in the end, in any stall "garden-vegetable garden" there are a lot of insecticides. smear / glue I don't want! but it is better to clarify and not in the stall where you buy, but from those people to whom you have now got wink.gif
