Golden bronzes. If they mated, they lived less.

20.06.2017 23:47, ИНО

Oh, I never got them to mate, and they died quickly anyway. Potokia is much more flexible and interesting.

21.06.2017 6:21, alex017

In terms of reproduction, they are like rabbits.
Caught in the very beginning of June or late May on flowering mountain ash, lilac or rose hips.
If you catch them later, the beetles are already "stale" and live less. Yes, and they are extremely rare on osot or bodyak.
They started dying in October and November, and some died in December.
Mated males died in June and July.
They had obvious signs of old age. They couldn't take off, their wings were getting muddy.
Rhinoceros beetles, for example, lived for 9 months-1g2months without mating, after mating the male died very quickly, 1-2 days, the female lived a little longer, 1-2 weeks.

22.06.2017 0:05, ИНО

Oddly enough, we do not have an aura in May in general and during the flowering period of mountain ash in particular. They fly out only in early June, and most of them-in the middle, by the time the lime tree blooms. That is, these are the latest of our bronzes, with the possible exception of Funesta. For an attempt at breeding, I just caught on a bodyguard in July or even August. Kept in the same terre with the rabbits. Aurats died very quickly, and metallics lived until next summer, although they fly out like a minium, a month earlier than aurats.

22.06.2017 10:51, alex017

I was very fond of bronzes and dreamed of tropical ones. Literally as soon as I went to work and was able to plug the biggest financial holes, I bought tropical bronzes of Herollin Polyphemus. And prode everything is fine. There is experience in keeping beetle larvae. But the furry animal crept up unnoticed. It turned out that tropical animals need elevated temperatures for life. This led to containers of soil on the desk. And forced them to sell them. The wind is always blowing on the floor, especially in winter when it is cold.
You're almost always warm. Donetsk is basically like Rostov. It's warm there. I could have. I purchased it from Bugdesign. Even though they are in Kiev. but probably they can deliver it to you.

22.06.2017 13:55, Hierophis

Helorrinaumnik.gif, for what so bronzok to call, they OK not guilty that at someone the wind on the apartment walks lol.gif
It seems to me that the heat in the apartment, and the absence of "walking winds" in it is determined not by geography, but by the insulation of the apartment)) I hope that in the oil and gas empire there are at least no problems with heatingweep.gif, but to fix the holes is probably too low a level for a resident of Velikaya and Maguchey)))
Wow, right in Kiev. Under such conditions, it was probably possible to write out bronzes directly from the primary area)

23.06.2017 6:21, alex017

Well done, I checked my spelling.
The heat in the apartment depends on the insulation of the joints in the house from w/w plates. And these seams are always crumbling, so it blows from everywhere. In such houses, even the temperature of the batteries was always kept higher. Yes, and the thickness of the plate is 25 cm. What is it for our climate? Brick houses have a wall two or more times thicker and no joints on the outside.
UK cover up the joints always, but still blows.

Yes, in Kiev, because we could not find them 9-10 years ago. And even now, no one wants to send money to the region for little money. They require purchases for tens of thousands of re, at least 5 thousand re.
Eggs listovidok generally ordered with ibey. Tk. for similar money, no one even wants to move.
And it's not even about businessmen who sell animals, who charge money for packaging and delivery to an intermediary, and so on.
For example, people charge money for sending seeds. The cost of seeds is about 0 re (even if not zero, here I can understand the price, although not always adequate), the cost of going to the post office is 300 - 500 re + the cost of forwarding.

New info.
Yakut Sedakovich grew up. Or most likely it is gimpoxelius ussuriensis. I do not know about this species at all - something between glabra and Sedakovich. Last year I met them for the first time, but I noticed that it is a very predatory, insatiable, cruel and nimble creature! Albifrons and Viridissima are resting. A small larva of ussuri, sensing the vibration, instantly jumps, pounces and knocks down a live emago of the domestic ascheta, a horsefly or a brown babbler in the cage and eats 80%. While viri and albi at the stage of this molt, they are simply afraid and are not considered as prey. Out of about 15 eggs collected, 3 hatched in early May, all males. And 2 Siberian thick-legged moss fillies that sit separately. One hatched, and 2 more weeks later. The latter was mottled and fat(sedak probably). During growth, the older one (by 2 molts) ate the younger ones during molts (I assume, because I didn't follow them, they just disappeared). It is now pre-imago and growing very slowly. Yes, and the summer is cold on the loggia is always dubak, the sun in this year is not enough... The other day I went to the restored meter-long paddock with natural turf, where Ingush Albi lived last year.

Kolez, I was pleased with the last photo from the cantans. This is the autumn or pre-autumn late phase. Green, but already a little with light bald spots.
Here are 14 photos of my past years found:
1. The same as yours, found in the filling in a dead willow.
2. Late phase Kantans poymn 10okt 2009 (described on the Forum above), survived until April
3.Pre-pre cantance aged by a larva in the refrigerator from May to Oct(2011), photo taken in November (described the maintenance technique)
4. Anomalously long-winged edging(2012). The length of the wings is like that of a viri, only the wings are wide. Unfortunately, the photo of the imago has not been preserved(
5. Abnormally long-winged bimaculate (from the feed)
6. Steppe sver sheds
7.Campestris Voronezhsky
8.Viri sheds in predimago.
9. Coal-black bimaculate from Adler. I discussed this topic with ENO. The loudest straightwing I've ever heard. In silence for about a kilometer, the sound can be heard, especially on the water, close to the ears tearing. Caught in parebrik (bardure)
10. The usual molt of the July edging.
11. The October Elder.
12. Female death eaters on October 15 last year
13. Natural death (October, in the morning after freezing) got out to warm up and hung.
14. Ingush albi bred from eggs found on a dune
in 2015-2016.S. the numbers and order of photos may not match the names when attaching files, so please excuse me.. The site doesn't follow the order of uploading photos.

I was impressed by the photo of an old cantante and a very young one. I've never seen anything like it, it's fantastic smile.gif
I read about the experience with the refrigerator, I want to try it too, while we can catch the cantans moult so on 2-3. Have you tried keeping other species in this way?

02.07.2017 12:06, GrigorY66

Kolez, no, I haven't tried it. Others are more mobile or thermophilic. I think they will not survive in such an experiment. And track the degree of swelling of the larva, so that it can be removed in time because in the cold it will die when molting.

02.07.2017 16:55, NIKITA TIMOSHEV

Cantans are quite capable of flying, at least 1 meter will fly, and I have 1 pre-imago albifrons in the bank.

02.07.2017 19:06, Kolez

GrigorY66, about other types in principle, I thought so, but I wanted to hear the opinion of an expert, whether I am not mistaken smile.gif
In a week I'm going on vacation, in Sochi, I'll try to take out albi) I've never seen them live, really..
By the way, the question torments.. has anyone tried successfully crossing albifrons and greys?

02.07.2017 19:26, GrigorY66

--))))) "they don't interbreed. Species have different perceived vibrations and pheromones. Although... who knows..
-"It will be very difficult for you to find him there. In addition, they are all imago there for a long time, so they are extremely fast and volatile. Everything is plowed, improved and built up. Only if along the railway track near Khosta (where there is a natural grass turf) or on the slopes near the airport.

03.07.2017 0:30, ИНО

Yes chhat albifrons on all the plowing and building, not dybka tea.

03.07.2017 18:53, GrigorY66

Yeah, then we look for it on the asphalt and sidewalk)

03.07.2017 22:08, NIKITA TIMOSHEV

Yes,in 2013 there was an invasion of albifrons,I don't remember where it was,but there were a lot of them on the asphalt, and in 2014 we had an invasion of Dociostaurus maroccanus in Tsimlyansk.

Good time of day.The question is: has anyone ever taken insects on a plane?

13.07.2017 21:42, NIKITA TIMOSHEV

I was (either in 2010 or in 2011) in Greece, on a plane back and forth to Rostov-on-Don, then to my Tsimlyansk,at that time I did not catch straight-winged birds,I would have caught them better, then I would have taken them back by plane.

I carried grasshoppers in my luggage from Turkey and Thailand. 50% death rate. Probably packed poorly.

15.07.2017 5:16, GrigorY66

In a matchbox. Put them in different parts of your luggage,,, put plant moisture in matchboxes and wrap them in plastic. That is, put them in different bags and in different places. Especially in front of scissors, nail clippers, wife's accessories or any metal on the sash. At one time , I also transported 500-gram thoroughbred carp in wet(pre-cooled), moistened gauze and lutrasil.
You ... fuck... did you find albifrons in Sochi..? or just izofia?
You didn't find any shit...

Good time of day.The question is: has anyone ever taken insects on a plane?

I drove and drove.
Iran, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Southeast Asia, Arab countries...

Everything is perfectly transported, if you do not fool around and do not push in the handle.
In plastic boxes, in luggage. Metal attracts the attention of security services.

If you carry a lot, it's good to disguise it with all sorts of wires-sticks-pieces of iron (I cover it with a photo weight and camping equipment, I have a lot of it).

In any case, the longer you carry it, the bigger it will be. Pressure drops, vibration-apparently, all this somehow affects together.

A very good cage, even large leaf-winged grasshoppers will live there.

There is something for you to take an example from yourself. Given away I note that with a high probability, decticus will devour all the others. And here the size and material of the cage will not help in any way, in which enclosure the lion and lamb are not put, but the result is the same.

So far, the main lion there is Tettigonia viridissima. Very aggressive male, drives and decticus. They eat various herbs, oats, small blacksmiths like plastinokrylov, fruit. I brought it from the Crimea, they've been living like this for a week now. So far, I haven't noticed any signs of an attack. I hope that all species will soon be identified, and it will be clear who is of what value. I took it for breeding for the first time, I would very much like to have a successful experience for subsequent work with more complex and rare species. Do I understand correctly that you need to put a container of sand for laying eggs and maintain moderate humidity?

Add it?? If only the brains!! Sadok-shit! Suffocate imperceptibly. Thick tulle is not allowed.
Are you a fool??? Putting Weary and Albie together?... All right, then.... Then I'm a fool - you have experience. And the gray horse race on the left will help you)) A mass grave like Nikita's has already been dug

Why not put a couple of imago Imperial watchers in there? Or Swifts?? Unfortunately, they will knock down their wings in 5 minutes and settle down... Ah neeeee... better a praying mantis - at least it will eat. And then - pereplanet Americana and marbles-to finish the corpses to zero..

Dear, how old are you? Please be more calm. And I didn't switch to you. What kind of tulle? This is a regular grid with a small cell, no one will suffocate there. I know about the risk, so I give you live food and put a lot of grass for shelter. It is clear that the weak can be devoured, but I have seen that many people keep blacksmiths together and nothing. For the future: behave more appropriately when answering questions.

16.07.2017 2:24, ИНО

Uh, there's also tettigonia - generally tin, they can bite each other and both die. I once ate a caudate rack in agony predator abdomen still chewed, both died.

16.07.2017 8:19, Enter

How high is the risk of an attack with proper feeding? I always have someone to devour there, and as I see it, this scheme works. The Decticus don't even try to attack the horseshoes. For some reason, the fillies that I threw for food 2 days ago are still alive there. In short, I know it's unprofessional, but I have plenty of other animals, and if I want to keep grasshoppers, that's the only way I can afford it. I can't handle each of them one at a time-I don't have enough hands. If someone eats someone after all, I will definitely unsubscribe to confirm the theory. I'm sorry if I hurt someone's feelings with this approach. I really try to minimize their desire to eat each other. So what about humidity and sand?

16.07.2017 21:11, ИНО

And the correct diet for decticus just includes small live insects, including straight-winged ones. So, if your decticuses don't catch jumps, then either they haven't had time yet, or something is wrong with them. With tettigonias, the same is true. The Amur tiger was also fattened up for slaughter to avoid excesses, but still in the end the goat did not do well. You can't fool nature. Why would you want to keep so many different types of grasshoppers at once? Focus on the one or two that you like best. A tray with a moistened substrate is a self-evident interior item, but I'm not sure that sand is the best choice, its humidity is very difficult to control.

Albi did not find them, there was not even a smell of them, because on my way there were few open meadows,or rather they were practically absent. Near the forest I saw a bush lover. Along the railway tracks, too, except for fillies and plate wings, I did not meet anyone. But I caught viridissima and some jumps, I keep it separately, I didn't expect that Viri is such a monster insatiable and greedy. He devoured all the mares(5-6) and predimago migratory locusts in a day.

18.07.2017 6:16, alex017

The reason I don't keep grasshoppers is because I get tired of these fights if you keep several of them together, but one at a time - reluctantly. They are late or early even the female eats the male.
The cages are too small to avoid aggression.

22.07.2017 0:07, GrigorY66

Roughly where was Weary caught? And in what vegetation? Male or female. If you still have her alive, don't feed her mares and flies, but rather babblers and small moths. And put the cage in a drafty place, even at night and if possible always.
And the big filly that was eaten is not a migratory one, but an Egyptian(grape) one. Their nymphs are usually green and on grapes

22.07.2017 10:24, NIKITA TIMOSHEV

And where is a piece of this Egyptian woman in the photo? My adult migratory locust was devoured by decticus.

I have a live male sitting on the balcony. Caught on Rosa Khutor, along the road, in the tall grass, there begins the ascent to the mountain with a dense forest. I also took out the locusts. Skachkov had already fished her out of the meadow after climbing the mountain.
