In my opinion, it is obvious that both are pusaria?
And in my opinion, too. But don't you even check out famous butterflies? I decided to specify exactly the size, and not the drawing or coloring. Twice 15 mm each, C. pusaria. C. leptographa is noticeably smaller, up to 25 mm. I've only seen leptographa once, a rather old museum specimen. I have no experience with this type, but the other two Cabera in due time digested enough.
Actually, checking the obvious, well-known butterflies sometimes gives interesting results wink.gif

I talked to P. N. Sheshurak in April of this year. So P. timon in the Chernihiv region has not been caught by anyone until now. Let Pavel Nikolaevich know. Please your uncle wink.gif

Unfortunately, I don't know Pavel Nikolaevich yet. I'll let him know as soon as I can.

A small photo report for those who are interested. Severodonetsk, Luhansk region 11.06.10-15.06.10. Arrived from Moscow. I don't collect insects, I didn't have much time, I took some pictures.
I was particularly interested in erect wings. For the first time in mid-June, I met a large number of Decticus verrucivorus grasshoppers, and adults. They chatter at full volume. Tettigonia viridissima grasshoppers are already beginning to sing in the city. The Seversky Donets River is full of Anax imperator dragonflies. In the oak forests near the river, almost every oak tree has deer beetles. A lot of mother-of-pearl. Swallowtails were also found, but much rarer. The air temperature in the shade ranged from +34 to +37 during the day. In short, a turbulent life flows in contrast to the Moscow region. yes.gif 120620103293.jpgIMG_0304.JPGIMG_0317.JPG

Today.Kharkiv region, places- (where I go to catch almost constantly-already sick) like nothing and there are good beetles there. There is a village, between the village on one side - water, on the other - pine forest, and you can fish well at once - in two different biotopes.

In fact, there are very few beetles, just some in a certain place can sit/run/fly.

18.06.10. Kherson region, Aleshkinsky sands, lamp DRL 250 and DRV 250 From 22-00 to 04-30. In the afternoon, while my colleagues arrived, I walked around picking up beetles, catching a jaundice -neto giale, neto afrikariensis, Ivy said we should look at the houses, the remnants of fortalitium fly and kailino, didyma and burdock and even threadbare pigeons. Evening and night are clear, small caddis flies and water beetles flew in such numbers that the sheet, which on the sand was covered with a thick moving and not very good smelling layer, after midnight, I collected the sheet , and threw about a kilogram of this mass away, I. Kostyuk seemed to be photographing it. There are not many species, I expected more, I caught Ivy about a hundred meters away, in my opinion, it is even weaker .Here's mine..

1-A fairly large Psychidae, similar to the one in the Cherkasy region (I will give both e.Rutyanu - he will determine) So we decided, turned out to be different-this pagevillosella, and the one from Cherkashchina-M. viciella

26.06.10.Let's go in the direction of Bukryn, here, according to the forecast, the weather should be quite good. We stopped at the edge of a ravine near the village of Grushev, Mironovsky district (N49°52 ' 50 "E031°14' 59’). Catocala fulminea? Yes, it is common (at least in our country). Now, however, I do not meet in the city (everything was built up), and earlier I flew to the balcony in bundles.

Vasily, it is common everywhere. We are talking about the fact that it flew unusually early compared to previous years.

Guys, could you discuss the issues of purchase and sale in the appropriate gadyushnik?
I make no secret of the fact that the material trade is deeply repugnant to me. Remember that not everyone is so unscrupulous.

I spent a week in the Azov Sea region from June 25 to 30 on the border of Primorsky and Berdyansk districts of Zaporozhye region. Years very average, just nowhere to fly. a small steppe plot on a steep slope to the Sea of Azov and woody and ruderal vegetation on an abandoned recreation center. But in general, I am satisfied. On the fourth day, a support group came from Zaporozhye and Melitopol. we drove a couple of kilometers to Stepnaya balka, but the result was almost the same.

I spent a week in the Azov Sea region from June 25 to 30 on the border of Primorsky and Berdyansk districts of Zaporozhye region.

We would like your hawkmoth and puffbugs smile.gif
Something pyadenits absolutely not densely, on fingers it is possible to count. Or didn't you just take them?

Yes, now you look at your catch during the same time and to put it mildly....
What can I say - WELL done, great catch. I didn't even think that such a thing could be caught in our Kiev region alone. As I understand it, you need to know the places smile.gif

I was not too lazy to count-144 hawk moth eyes, the question is what to do with them, if not a secret.

03.07.2010 19:31, taler

I really liked the photo report of Orasa. On the mattresses you can see who was flying and when. The matronly girls were surprised.
144 ocelli...well..I hope that he will no longer take them, as well as the rest, and will hoe new species in other areas.Thank you and good luck!

03.07.2010. Chernihiv region, Bobrovitsky district, Ozeryany village.
During the day I walked in the meadows, fished a little Maculinea teleius and Maculinea nausithous. Then I went to the oak plantations in the hope of catching Favonius quercus. There were quite a few of them, but they were flying in the treetops and my net was useless. In general, for three hours of wandering around the landing - 1 female. Next time I'll take a 3-meter rod with me.
It didn't fly very well at night. A lot of Noctua scoops arrived, especially Noctua fimbriata-18-20 butterflies-gathered them of all stripes. Female Biston betularius ( never seen before), hadena, cuculia...In general, everything in the photo.
