It's nice to remember. Thank you. I used to pick at it once, too. I even have the first beetle in my collection. Phosphuga atrata. They can also be black. smile.gif

Yes, there were plenty of blacks, and I've had enough of them in the past spring... There were a few more Carabus granulatus and a couple of seven-pointed cows. A small black beetle (? Ciidae) crawled somewhere while I was filming the brown one (Liparus did not control the situation, but went to chisel another log) - in general, he did not take it...

I wonder what kind of pink larva is in a dry tinder mushroom (? Diaperis boleti)...

Maybe young brown, and then darken?

Yes, no, these are color options, I just meant that I mostly find the black form in our country, while your brown one dominates.

In Khmelnitsky there were more brown meadows. And when I came across a black one, for some reason, it was larger in size. I, in general, then thought that this is a different view.

This is a black (large) female you came across, the females are larger than the males.Matching is simple. In the Crimea, they are black and much larger than from our latitudes.

Out of 71 pieces, we got:
55 brown
12 black
and 4 transitional (black-brown or brown-black)

Is it strange that all their paws and claws are intact?

Why do you need so many of them? Even I only took a couple of pictures of them for the record... Luchche would have picked up so many small ones... smile.gif

Liparus, who defined the Leiodidae? It's just very interesting to know who can say such beetles offhand.

People are lucky! I have been collecting beetles in Ukraine for 30 years, I have never seen Chalcophora mariana in my eyes. And here in winter...

Alexander Nikolaevich Drogvalenko deals with small subcutaneous beetles - Triplaxxx http://molbiol.ru/forums/index.php?act=Pro...DE=03&MID=46360.
Although this Liparus apparently watched it himself.

The female is last year's,so she was lying on the sand, everything is in order and she has whiskers and claws, only the body is very worn out.Do I need to add them to the collection?

I saw a few last summer. Bezlyudovka, Vasishchevo, Krasnokutsky district (pine cutting).

April 3, 2010 I managed to wander a little in the vicinity of Sudak (Crimea). I wanted to find Tomares callimachus, there are few photos of this animal in the archive, but it was not possible - the weather was "not very good", there was almost no sun, cool wind, clouds, even rain broke down at times (in general, Yandex with the weather let me down - there was no" variable cloud cover", it was "cloudy", even "cloudy" weep.gif) There were few animals - Libythea celtis, Nympalis polychloros, Pieris napi...
The main thing that I managed to find new for myself is a CACTUS growing like a savage! jump.gif I looked on the Internet , and yes, it was acclimatized (brought from America), first it was in the Nikitsky Botanical Garden and planted in nature, it took root... At first I thought I was hallucinating, but it turned out not to be-just Opuntia humifusa... It's interesting to be "backward"... Constant discoveries for yourself!

There were many of these comrades -

When I climbed Chatyrdag on February 27 (http://molbiol.ru/forums/index.php?showtopic=101629&view=findpost&p=1017557), this thing stuck to me. In the evening, I wash in the shower - something incomprehensible behind my ear... It dawned on me - wasn't it a tick? Pulled - it's the same! THE THING!!! After all, they are like the hawk moth Macroglossum stellatarum or the nymphalis Nymphalis polychloros - they are activated in any thaw.

Prickly pear in the Crimea is a lot of places, infection... Opposite the fortress, by the way, its whole thickets.
A dung mushroom of some sort. A new atlas of Crimean mushrooms has recently appeared in bookstores - 330 species with descriptions, 414 pages (price 50-100 hryvnias, depending on the store).
