Specially went with Boris Loboda (Barry) to the steppe, there are Baibaks, we even saw one, and their burrows in the photo.

There are at least 3 species of T-shirt beetles, but we haven't seen them.Collected dorkadionov

And why only tails from D. elegans? smile.gif

I certainly have and everything will be fine. The first time I went on April 18 (Friday) with Skrylnik and Slutsky. Second time today with Arthur. I'm still too busy, I need to re-shoot everyone. The bucket of "krasnovolnovsky" dropout has not been sorted out since Friday.

I'd like to know. Who's that?" In principle, the place is good. At least for Dorcadion elegans, it's the only known place in the area. And this is so far only someone who got out in the bag himself, the dropout can be today I will start razgr** * .

Minyops - http://www.zin.ru/ANIMALIA/COLEOPTERA/RUS/mincarkm.htm
only you most likely have Minyops costalis Gyllenhal, 1834 or the nominative subspecies Minyops minutus. Eh... I would like to get an audit.

by the way, and we have in the Saratov Zavolzhye elegant almost the most common kind, crowds go wink.gif

Yes, it would be nice. Thank you!
PS. I think I understand - we are talking about Minyops sp.? This is what Arthur found. I barely lured him out - of course, for temporary use, purely for shooting. By promising him a bunch more fun beetles. And this is despite the fact that I actually passed him a point with Dorcadion elegans.

please note that after the revision:

Osella G. & Bello C. 2010: Revisione di Minyops Schoenherr, 1823 e Paraminyops nov. gen. (Coleoptera, Curculionidae, Molytinae). // Memorie del Museo Civico di Storia Naturale di Verona (2) Sezione Scienze della Vita 19: 3-133.

the genus was greatly rebuilt, the species that was previously called "Minyops carinatus" is not found in either Russia or Ukraine.
You can only have two species - M. costalis and M. minutus spp. minutus.
This is one of the reasons why I am very interested in these beetles.

Today I took a walk in the vicinity of Slavuta, a biotope-a clearing in almost continuous pine forest and an abandoned military training ground overgrown with lichens, here is a list of species found.

Pyrgus malvae
Pieris napi
Anthocharis cardamines
Gonepteryx rhamni
Callophrys rubi
Celastrina argiolus
Nymphalis xanthomelas
Inachis io
Vanessa cardui
Polygonia c-album
Issoria lathonia
Pararge aegeria

Aglia tau
Ematurga atomaria
Lythria cruentaria

I saw up to a dozen saturnias, chased them like pavonias, one even went into a net and successfully escaped from there, and when I did catch it, it unexpectedly turned out to be tau.
Well, a couple of pictures.

Walking in the woods before Easter. There are plenty of animals - herons, ducks, pheasants-in general, there are a lot of birds, squirrels, turtles. From butterflies: mace Pyrgus malvae, 1 Zerynthia polyxena, Pieris napi, Anthocharis cardamines, Gonepteryx rhamni, Celastrina argiolus, Polygonia c-album, Nymphalis xanthomelas, Pararge aegeria, moth Ectropis crepuscularia and Gymnoscelis rufifasciata. Of moles for the entire hike 1 Eriocrania sp. and a few phyllonorycters-until I examined one very interesting oak tree with a large number of trunks. Here on it sat dozens of Phyllonorycter quercifoliella and Phyllonorycter roboris, a few Phyllonorycter acerifolieela, something from flat moths (I did not consider it, they flew away), a few Mompha sp, 1 Caloptilia sp. On the way home, I found 2 more Diurnea fagella, one light and one dark.

Today, 26.04.14 was where I often go - in a beam in the west of Berislav.
Spring is in full swing! Everything blooms and smells! Early in the morning it was quite cool 9-10 gr., but somewhere after 8: 20 all the butterflies flew out. From someone I know to my face: all the sailboats are now assembled, they have served and drink nectar from flowering fruit trees, there are fewer swallowtails. But most of all polyxene. This butterfly was the most numerous today - they flew out from under their feet! Caterpillars of the Euphorbia cocoonworm also appear, and a caterpillar of Phoebe's shashechnitsa was found. Of the nymphalids - only burdocks and not often field mother-of-pearl. From pigeons fly Alexis, chervonets flame, Aricia agestis and began to fly Baviy! Something is not visible yet buckthorn pigeon. From whitefish - the usual mignonette, rutabaga/turnip, dawn. Lemongrass flew by several times! I've never seen it in these places before. Lemongrass flies in the bottom of the beam and closer to it, where there are juicy greens.

Next, photos in chronological order:

Good day everyone!
Yesterday I made a fishing trip to the light. Fishing point:26.04.2014, Belarus, Grodno region, Zelvensky district, 1 km West of the village of Voronichi, clearing in a mixed forest. t-13-15gr. 5-6km from the house where I live. A sort of man-made clearing did not immediately notice well, and decided to stop there.
Everything flew singly with the exception of Drymonia ruficornis, 1 female flew for 30-40 males.
By tradition, the photo that flew, that took.

Hello again, friends. Weekends are not a frequent phenomenon, and the weather is not always lucky, so today another reconnaissance operation took place in the oak forests of our small republic. Today I decided to go a little further and go through the forest to yesterday's territories. Carabuses crawled out...soft yet, but the fact itself is very pleasing. a myriad army of Carabus cancellatus, gave the walk a pleasant crunch, and there are also Carabus excellens, C. ulrichii, but in much smaller quantities... I'm going to stick traps in next weekend

evilforester, greetings to Moldova! smile.gif

On Easter evening, I took a little ride around the area on a bike, of course, in the first rows of landings, the situation is tough )) Getting drunk )
But in the more distant lands there was silence, calm, everything is filled with the smells of flowering trees, and the buzzing of insects, lizards run, birds sing, beauty )
Only now the batteries on the camera sat down, I had to use a backup soap dish.
A very interesting reticulate wing was photographed, not very true, but still )

And this is a small trip to the northern steppes, this time there were no races, but I did not go to the zalesnennaya chat, nevertheless, and in the open part there were enough surprises! I already wrote about the fact that closer to the sea we seem to have all the apricots frozen out, at least my favorite apricot grove alas.
And here, much further north.. and on some trees well prsoto 100% preservation of the ovaries!! All the trees are covered with small apricots. Although, there are some trees where everything is frozen out. Moreover, there is no particularly obvious difference in their growth type. Oh, I would like to have thermal sensors for every tree, but to see what factors affect freezing, maybe not just the temperature..

Hello everyone and happy holidays!
The unique Chisinau entomofauna continues to delight. Yesterday I just went to the city and here is the result, all the beetles are new to me. Even in the minibus, Phymatodes fasciatus crawled on the glass, at first I took it for a clerida, but it turned out that "I was deceived", I got a much better beetle smile.gif. Aphodius erraticus was found on the asphalt in the old part of the city, Ptinus variegatus was found on the old masonry, Badister peltatus was found in Pushkin Park near the fountain, Stenolophus teutonus swam in the fountain itself, but with an unusual pattern of spots on the elytra-the spots are not separated in the seam area (with separated spots rarely, but it comes across). This is only from the krupnyak, I haven't determined the trifle yet, there are some Magdalis on 3 mm, ground beetles and a couple of species of small weevils. And you say Borneo...

I already see that I need to deal with stenolofuses, something is messed up for me
