Something about walking along the Setun River floodplain in Moscow and its surroundings (Setun River Valley Nature Reserve). June 30, 2010 The first frame shows what I reported in the topic about CC: the reserve will soon be completely or almost completely covered by a large cap; drilling is taking place over a fairly large area at different points of the main site (all the others taken together are not comparable to this, in terms of fauna, anyway).

Please excuse the promised photos of the Serebryanoprudsky district (July 1-4, 2010) for the abundance of carniolica, but I thought it necessary to present all the options I mentioned for its location (except in flight, of course).
Yes, I forgot to add that a few (but I don't know why they didn't get into the lens) mottled ephialtes flew.

3-5 caught in Odintsovo district, near the village of Pestovo, mostly again all sorts of garbage. The weather conditions are also not the best - both nights are clear, at 3 o'clock the temperature is about 13 degrees, the moon is shining, only the wind was not enough for complete happiness. I was very pleased with the Nymphalis l-album, and I saw it more than once (and not even twice smile.gif), caught only one, and then broke in) Forest mother-of-pearl also flew.

But this is a different kind, isn't it? The chest seems to be different. Serpukhov district, floodplain of the Oka River, July 25, 2009, evening, no lighting, the quality of images is also not very good, the third frame is with a flash. And the material was not taken at that time.

Nope -- this one seems to be either statics or globulariae.

Absolutely nothing interesting, except for Hadena confusa, which only flew to me for the second time, this is for the first night, for the second less, I did not take pictures. I almost didn't take any moths (except for eupithecia), since there was nothing interesting for me.

Good day to all! Small report 6.07.2010 Moscow region Mytischinsky district, turned on the UV tube for the sake of interest on my site (to see who flies at night near the housesmile.gif).+16-+17, the moon was shining, in principle, it flew disgusting, the only thing that zadolbali caddis flies counted 67 further tired, sat out until 03.00 because nothing interesting was all turned off.
At 14.00 I went to the forest on a clearing in order to check the years of Argynnis paphia, so far it flies very little, it is clear that they are just beginning to come out of the pupae.

I will write my first informative post, because I started collecting butterflies this year.
I went this Sunday to the PTZ under the Meadows on the clearing. I was very surprised by the mass departure of the 2nd generation draughtsman Didyma. Full of both males and females. I wanted to catch the mother-of-pearl niobe myself, but I don't have it. Only adippi, paphii and aglai fly. Who knows when niobe leaves and where ?

12.07.2010. A short walk along the Khodynsky field, Moscow. Open area, steppe. A lot of grasshoppers Tettigonia caudata, live all over the field, and t. cantans met only one. Phaneroptera falcata plate-wings fly around. Beauty! Only one thing is bad. I'm afraid this biotope will soon disappear.

Good morning! Now I don't have much time to write / catch (I'm loaded with work), but I want to inform you: Prionus coriarius has already been released in the Moscow region (I usually find it from the beginning of August, but here it's mid-July-apparently the year is really freaky). 13.07.2010 I ran around the city on my own business and did not believe my eyes: the sidewalk is crossing in broad daylight-such a female. Has anyone caught it this year?

It is good to catch it in the light at dusk (under the lanterns in the park we usually have a lot), in August (maybe the end of July), but now? That's what surprises me.
