Report on fishing in Pestovo from somewhere 17.07 to 25.08, (only recorded once for a trip with Gennadich to Lishnyagi in early August). Every year, new species are getting harder to get, but they are also getting tastier wink.gif. The distinctive features of this season are the crappy flight of butterflies even on the most suitable nights, the arrival in August of typical July species (I marked them in italics in the list, since they themselves are not interesting, but only the arrival time is interesting, and wrote the date of the last find), as well as the complete absence of all ribbons except yellow. This time there are problems not only with the micra, but also with a couple of scoops, so I ask you to look at the topic by definition of someone who knows, like barko) I almost didn't deal with other insects at that time, I took a picture of only one barbel, now it was identified - it turned out to be Trichoferus campestris! smile.gif

So, the list of interesting things - macro, fire shots and micro (For Vlad, there will probably be a lot of interesting things in the definitionwink.gif)

August 24-26.
Neftyanik-Poplar.
I visited sdi in Neftyanik, despite the fact that the weather is quite warm(at night +17) and 2 DRL 250 worked(one of them is crushed), it flew very BADLY.Came in a single copy of not quite pure Staurophora celsia.

The next day we went to visit me, to shine a light in Poplar and on the moor. The weather has turned bad completely, at night it is rainy and cold.
We didn't go to the moor.
Three DRL-250s (one naturally split)attracted bears and not a large number of macro and micro killed scales. Therefore, as a photo of the samovar from which we drank tea, there is nothing more to post.

Upon arrival home, I found that finally someone was out(Conistra vaccinii).

It is cold (at 9 am 12 degrees outside the window)frown.gif.
But nevertheless, I tried fishing on the balcony tonight and some people flew in (although with a limited variety).
The result of urban fishing is shown in the two images below.
I'm especially interested in the rather cute scoop in the first picture.
Who could it be?

While it is cold and there is nothing to catch,I will brighten up this time with warm memories of summer.
If anyone remembers how in one of the reports I wrote that I caught a female Protoschinia scutosa in Lichens, and that she gave eggs.
So I bring to your attention what I got.

I want to raise my spirits a little - you can still catch it!
Here is my report on fishing in the country from September 14 (I'm just posting it now, because I didn't have time). I was driving to the dacha (located on the border of Podolsk and Chekhov districts) with sad thoughts, but just at the right time from 9 to 12 the rain suddenly stopped, and I had the opportunity to catch the light. Fishing took place at a temperature of 10-11 degrees, sometimes dripping rain, but after five minutes stopped. As a result, I caught a certain number of butterflies. Fishing would be quite common in the fall, if not for two events. First – I caught Diloba caeruleocephala. I didn't have it in my collection, I used to take only caterpillars. The second is much more interesting – the capture of Griposia aprilina. The butterfly is both rare and beautiful. Last year (also 14.09) I caught a male, this time the purest female. Quite a few other autumn species also arrived.
Here they are:
Noctuidae
Griphosia aprilina
Macdunnoughia confusa
Hypena proboscidalis
Rivula sericealis
Diloba caeruleocephala
Autographa gamma
Xestia C-nigrum
Xestia icteritia
Allophyes oxyacanthae
Helicovera armigera
Geometridae
Colotois pennaria
Timandra comae
Xanthorhoe ferrugata

Here's the second part of this week's fishing report. I fished in Moscow, where I live.
Every day, either nothing, or one or two butterflies. Most often they are found on the white walls of houses and in the entrance. In general, I haven't caught anything special yet.
Kinds:
Noctuidae
Xestia C-nigrum
Amphipyra pyramidea
Geometridae
Colotois pennaria
Larerannis orthogrammaria

And a few more photos:

I will add that in Moscow, in addition to plumiger (these already fly in the mass) poplar cocoonworms, fleecers, and brumates come to the lamp with might and main... The season in MO is over, even aprilina will not surprise anyone, the butterfly is becoming ordinary. It's good that at least there are a lot of mushrooms in the forest, white, Polish, aspen trees grow like grass (not my definition, but Mickey's, but it reflects the essence correctly). At the weekend near O-Zuyevo in 3 hours about 10 buckets of the above-mentioned mushrooms for three. Then the day was processed frown.gif

I also still deal with these mushrooms.
On Saturday, we broke out with Alexey Vishnyakov under the Cockerels (Omutische): in a few hours, Lyosha gained 17 kg. Polish (according to him), well, I also threw up 10 kilograms. I go through a pine planting and just like "hilling beds" smile.gifI don't remember so many mushrooms at a time........

Today, Moscow, TLCA Park.
Of the butterflies, Erannis defoliaria, Larerannis orthogrammaria, and Ptilophora plumigera were found in the mass, but no other species were recorded.

And again about TLCA Park.
Today I was there before lunch and observed a lot of orthogrammarians, defoliarians, including females. Plumigers are not so numerous, but all are fresh, even just hatched.
In general, nothing special, but I had to collect it under snow grains, quite plentiful and large-the size of a rice grain.

Last weekend, most likely, closed the season in the Chekhov district. On Saturday, during the preparation of the garden plot for winter, a wintering nymphalid was startled, which quite unexpectedly turned out to be Nymphalis polychloros. On Sunday, it was much warmer, the sun came out, and several specimens of the more familiar Nymphalis xanthomelas and Vanessa atalanta flew out. A small number of species came to the world - Poecilocampa populi, Operophtera brumata, Operophtera fagata, Colotois pennaria, Erannis defoliaria, Thera juniperata, Agrochola circellaris, Diloba caeruleocephala, Ptilophora plumigera. In general, there is nothing to surprise with, rather you can surprise with what did not arrive. This fall, for example, in the Moscow region, I did not notice a single Epirrita autumnata, although in previous years it flew to the light in large numbers and was found during the day in the forest. As for the butterflies of the genus Catocala - this year in the Chekhov district, as in the rest of the Moscow region, there were very few, only a few specimens of Catocala fulminea were born at the end of June and a few Catocala fraxini at the end of August. And the only Catocala nupta this season was celebrated in Moscow on June 29.

By the way, about katokal - in the Kaluga region, the same picture, apparently there are some reasons or absences, or large numbers in different regions, we had a lot in 2011, we sat and flew literally everywhere, when walking in the city park-just sat in the afternoon on the trunks of linden and oak trees by the dozens.

I agree with you, Epirrita autumnata was also very small in the Ivanovo region. We managed to catch only four specimens - three in the light and one during the day in flight. That's all. Catocala sp. there were also very few, and all the species of this genus. Catocala fulminea in the past years flew to the light dozens of pieces per night, this year no more than two or three, and then not every night. Where the oak species disappeared - sponsa and promissa - in 2008 - 2012 there were relatively many of them, this year there was no day with fire. C. fraxini and nupta also disappeared somewhere. I saw Nupta this year only once in the city, sitting on the wall of a house under a street lamp, and fraxini flew to the light on the weekend of September 7-8 in the amount of four copies. And this is despite the fact that in the past years, it arrived at the light every night starting from July 25 in the amount of at least three copies. In short, it is not clear where the order ribbons disappeared. Some kind of miracle.

For some reason, this year (in my area, at least) scoops of the genus Agrochola were completely absent. Even the most common, most banal type of Agrochola circellaris for the entire season, I was not able to collect a single copy. But what was very much, much more than usual, was the Helicoverpa armigera. These ubiquitous scoops were everywhere and met literally around the clock-and flew into the light in large numbers, and during the day they were constantly caught. They flickered, so to speak, over the flowers. But Autographa gamma, which usually happens in large numbers at this time, for some reason was not enough this year, met with single copies. It feels as if the Autographa gamma and Helicoverpa armigera species have swapped places...

Agrochola circellaris, the most banal species in previous years, by the way, this year, too, I have never been noted by me until last weekend, in which, after severe frosts, several specimens still arrived. And in 2010, for example, already in mid-August, there were plenty of representatives of this species....

What are watermelons and melons?.. today I dug in the rotten grass (which, however, was specially laid for beetles back in August) - several Monotoma (?)quadrifoveolata and a few Rhyncolus (?) reflexus (I'll elaborate further).

About Plumiger: on Saturday 5-X-2013, it was discovered on the Borodino field (Mozhaisk district of Moscow region) on the porch of the Borodino Museum.
On Sunday, 6-X-2013, between 16 and 17 hours in the park, TCA was still hatching (butterflies with still weak wings, mostly females, were sitting on the trunks). There were also older specimens, including actively flying ones.

I was lucky enough to see this "event" (I won't write anything about the "action", because there are only letters at the end of the alphabet for the description).
BUT, walking along the embankment, I noticed that insects hang out on the fence (some midges, bedbugs, etc.). Starting to look closely, I found beetles: Adalia bipunctata, A. decimpunctata, Harmonia axyridis (!!!, my guess was confirmed by Andrey Ukrainsky, for which I thank him very much!) and weevils Dorytomus sp. I also saw Goldeneye, which, like Klopov, I ignored...
Well, in conclusion, a photo of the culprit of this post...

Again, the notorious Ptilophora plumigera (Denis & Schiffermuller, 1775) shuffle.gif
It seems that this species is really becoming widespread in our country.
Collected for the sake of interest a dozen individuals (it was possible to have more, but did not become unnecessary) last night, under a lantern with DRL at his work.
It is noticed that in the series I took in 10 copies. for some reason, absolute "matriarchy" reigns: there is only 1 male for 9 females confused.gif.
I wonder what this is connected with? With the climate?

So at work I sleep only 3 hours a day officially (work obliges).
Yes, and "midnighter" : for 16 years of such work, the body has already developed.
So I watch all my free time from sleep smile.gif
In addition, the butterfly is stupid: if it is "nailed" to the light, it sits "as if rooted to the spot" and nothing can move it (at least until the morning) By
the way: in Zheleznodorozhny, last year (this year I didn't catch it yet), only males flew to the light.
I'll have to try fishing today.
