Ormetica sypilus.

One more version of the reasons of this noise is that, maybe, the sharpness was increased generally, all over the shot, and after that some noise was removed or just dark background was blurred. And the object was still outlined roughly and thin antennas got this noise around. I had such blunders, thanks God, so long time ago ;) Anyway, Evgeny, you know, Petr keeps talking that this website is ...

30.03.2011 21:24, Evgeny Komarov: comment on photo #8271

I think, he means large size :) This is evident author's blunder, cause the sharpness was obviously increased rather roughly, the object was not outlined precisely, and some adjacent areas, colored way darker, were sharpened also. So that's the source of this "noise". It couldn't be like this considering Petr's general retouching. He definitely shouldn't do detailed retouching and remove noises ...

I can guess, Igor is the author? If so, then let it be, even as picture, but... I'd prefer photos only.

25.03.2011 18:32, Evgeny Komarov: comment on Apatura schrenckii

Peter! Since "climbed" on the territory of most biologists - are suffering;) Systematics, alas, does not stand still. The truth is that the desire to make something of their own is no more than a worthless imaginations. And voobshe, all supra taxonomy is very subjective.

24.03.2011 14:51, Evgeny Komarov: comment on Apatura schrenckii

And I'll put a drop. Specify a stern age-related, resulting in only the Russian name - is not at all good! What insects that plants - Russian names are often nothing to say, but only confused churning.

That's why I put it as questionable, but only this suits from Guyana ones. Probably, dark spots just vary in size, didn't notice other serious differences except some reduction of pattern.

21.03.2011 12:00, Evgeny Komarov: comment on Wagimo signata

Yuri! Zephyr oak, it is common for Russian Neozephyrus quercus, and not for the Far East. Russian name - it is a separate "song", but you should at least try to ensure that one Russian could not belong to two or even more species and even of different genera!
