If we compare these photos, then this is the very Japonica adusta (Riley, 1939)!

Questionable ssp. suellus, Staudinger, 1878: some authors move it to porcellus synonyms, others (e. g., Catalogue of the Lepidoptera of Russia, 2008) consider it as a species itself. Also, the Catalogue says that suellus is expanded in Siberia (Baikal region), so it's a question who can be in Astrakhan region then.
Alexandr! I asked Konstantin for large size photos of questionable Saturnias (these also) to show it to some American expert in American Saturnias. Maybe, that will clear up the situation. Hylesia teratex is doubtful. This is male, and all males of this species, as we can see on other shots, have brown pubescense, not dark black as this one has.
