In my opinion, this is not a bumblebee at all, but an anthophora

We have already written that this is not a bumblebee at all. For a more or less normal definition, you need good photos of individual parts of the body: the wing with venation, the face from the front and side (with dotted trim and the first segments of the antennae, the abdomen from above, the legs, especially the rear ones).

This is a male Ammophila. However, the angle does not allow you to determine the exact view (the sculpture of the top of the propodeum is not visible).
If the top of the propodeum is pubescent, then Ammophila sabulosa.
If pubescence is not developed, it is most likely Ammophila terminata.

Alexander, do you have any literature on the genus Miscophus? I understand the complex gender required by the revision ?

Not the right word! Not just complicated, but very boring and requires studying the "old" types.
I once planned to do it... But then the well-known changes of the 90s broke out, and the possibilities of free exchange of standard materials were covered. And without them, this is almost a hopeless occupation.
Because I didn't specifically select literature, so I only have some "random" publications, but not reviews. frown.gif

However, if there is a need, you can first try to search the Web yourself, guided primarily by these sites (but there are no guarantees for the success of the search):

22.10.2013 23:20, John-ST

At least the first 3 are females of Ichneumonidae, Ophioninae. Most likely, this is actually Ophion sp. And it is even quite likely that Ophion luteus (Linnaeus, 1758)

With the latter, I can't guarantee it. As far as I can make out, it's a male. And with them troubles... frown.gif

The first 3 are Homolobus (Braconidae).

everything is definitely not Ophioninae, venation is not the same, at least as I understand it. The former do not have an arc at all, the latter has a mirror.
I found an article about Iranian Homolobus, one-to-one venation

As far as I understand this is ofion

Yes, I admit my mistake. The first 3 are Braconidae (there is a longitudinal vein between the 1st discoidal and submarginal cells).

Female Palarus variegatus [Crabronidae]

and how did you determine the gender from this angle?

25.10.2013 9:50, AVA

and how did you determine the gender from this angle?

By the distance between the inner orbits of the eyes at the level of the ocular triangle on the crown. Plus, 6 segments of the abdomen, of which the apical is pointed, and not deeply forked, as well as 12 segments of the antennae.

Arachnospila?
[attachmentid()=184326]

If the apical tergite of the abdomen with obliquely standing stiff black hairs, segments of the antennae from below (starting from 3) bear light rounded spots -R. Anoplius (most likely Anoplius aeruginosus Tournier, 1890), if this is not the case, and the head, chest and propodeum are in long spaced hairs, then R. Arachnospila.
