Denis, is this a Pterostichus? shuffle.gif In my opinion, some kind of Agonum (Europhilus)...

I straightened and reshot this copy. Probably, nothing definite can be said from the photo anyway...

Good night. While on a field trip in the steppes of the Eastern Manych, I collected an unusual black calf. I've never seen such a thing before in the Stavropol Territory. According to the determinant, I get Opatrum geminatum. It is not suitable for O. sabulosum. Much larger and stockier: the body length is about 13mm. The punctuation of the elytra and pronotum is also different. But the area of the find does not coincide with the described area of Opatrum geminatum, which raises doubts. Did I identify this bug correctly? If not, what is it?

I also didn't find any images on the web, but according to the description, this is exactly the type and kormovukha corresponds to http://coleop123.narod.ru/key/opredslon/Mo...s_vittatus.html

I can't open this page, but I'll take your word for it. It was the aft one that alerted me. Iris ventricosa in Primorye is on the verge of extinction. It hasn't been found here in 80 years. It is currently found in three locations in the South-west of Primorye. I thought that if forage is so rare, then the beetle might be appropriate. But it turns out that he is not a monophage. Thank you all again.

Please help with the T-shirts, I thought they were Meloe proscarabaeus, now I doubt the bottom two, they look different. Caught in the vicinity of Oryol. The ones below were found in a steppe gully with limestone outcrops. The largest one was caught at the end of May, measuring 45 mm.
Could it be Meloe cicatricosus? Or is it a more southern view?

"red" - this, sorry, who? Rhagonycha fulva? If so, then its vertexes are indeed black. And yours is clearly a Cantharis of the livida type: http://www.coleo-net.de/coleo/texte/cantharis.htm

and if you look at the claws? You do not look at the pictures in the "network", but read the keys even in the "green" umnik.gifmaybe you will come to Cantharis livida (classic male) for example, or some other species. and what is the size of this beast?
who is the "red" I fortunately do not know tongue.gifif you mean ragonikha fulva, then it differs and not only with black tops ndkr

Options in Int-te:
Red - legged limpet (Cantharis livida
) - Yellow-legged limpet (Cantharis livida)
Soft-bodied flower (red) Cantharis livida
Hence the confusion. Thank You

tyrnet can be used only after a bunch of "old" books, or you can use only sites related to various research centers, such as "ZIN". and any heresy a la "wiki" and a bunch of photo hosts, only makes "confusion" - this is No. 1
and No. 2 - all your research came to the same result = Cantharis livida! well, there are no well-established names for warheads in Russian insects, hence the stupidity. and you don't need to invent them, there are examples of such idiocy even in scientific publications. use Latin wink.gifof course, taxonomists often change generic or specific names, but at least then you can track them

And on https://insecta.pro/taxonomy/832430 livida-generally with black elytra.

we observe a male livida of the form rufipes, which prevails in some parts of the range wink.gif

And on https://insecta.pro/taxonomy/832430 livida-generally with black elytra.

still yes, livida byvet and with black elytra (var. rufipes) smile.gif
In fact, determining Cantharides from photos is not a very good idea. Here, for example, a number of ragonycha species differ only in the structure of the endophallus. And such yellow-winged cantharis are also not one species. What size is the beetle in the photo, by the way?
