530-take a photo of the front fender with a high resolution and without gloss , I think it's degenerana

531-check your forehead for an outgrowth (you can take a picture) like this
picture: irissor.jpg

and then it seems to me that this is Cardepia

28.05.2017 11:24, Sergey Rybalkin

I took a picture, I can't make it any bigger, the technique doesn't allow it.

Nycteola revayana is not found in the Urals, so it's probably really N. degenerana

28.05.2017 12:10, svm2

Well, the presence of an outgrowth suggests that this is Cardepia, and most likely irrisoria.
Regarding Nycteola, I can't tell from this picture, it's definitely not revayana, a very weak shoulder, the picture is invisible let it be degenerana

Good evening, dear forumchane! Please tell us how to distinguish Ectropis crepuscularia (Denis & Schiffermuller, 1775) from Ectropis excellens (Butler, 1884) by external features. The first two photos were taken on 12.08.2016. It is defined as Ectropis crepuscularia light summer form. The last one is waiting to be determined on 27.05.2017. Could it be Ectropis excellens? Sakhalin has both types.
