yes, it's not a big deal to get ahead of the photo, but people are asking for it...

Some people do it, but I can't get into it, I need to dig around, look at it, think about it. braking....

Yes, they ask for something, but when a person asks just for the sake of wanting to know the animal, this is one thing, here the error is not so critical, but if a person then shoves all this into a hastily concocted database, like tov. SEadm, then how does the Russian Internet suffer from such clogging with incorrectly defined husks! frown.gif

By the way, guys, the other day I took out a straightener with a couple of sirfids, and one of the yellow stripes on the abdomen turned weep.giforange.?? Otherwise, if they always behave like this, it's zer nicht gut!

This (color change) probably depends on the degree of oxidizability of the contents of the intestine (respectively, the fullness of the latter), which, in turn, is burdened with the oxidative capabilities of the bacterial "fauna" (flora)... umnik.gif

23.09.2009 19:25, Юстус

Then who is it? It's a pity that my ideas about sirfids are mostly limited to Flax.by region. We seem to have nothing like balteatus, do
you have anything else in the wild Siberian expanses? Well, tell me, don't bother me

I tell you, explaining so that there is no ambiguity. wink.gif
The description of the holo (para-, syn -, etc.) type of E. balteatus remained inaccessible to me. But about E. balteatus ("textbook") I didn't ask (until now). Having met a lot of " color morph "(aberration) or "tipo" of that (as it turns out now) (photo of post 787), I asked. I don't have time to follow the twists and turns of the classification "rally" (here the species were combined into one, there they gave the status of a species to individuals who had previously been deprived of it). weep.gif
Without any "jokes" (which, of course, in the literal sense of the word "pin" does not apply to E. balteatusjump.gif) I was curious (I sprinkle ashes on my head)…
Baltheatus, so baltheatus, you know better there, in the Baltic... Thanks!

I have a question (och. similar to offtop and not "by the way", like Dr. Niko) "in pursuit".
Why do their bellies dry differently, i.e. why do some of them "cringe" and others do not? (I don't admit any religious motives yet) This doesn't always seem to fit in with "satiety". And the question of "shrinkage" (deformity) of the eyes in some species, and the absence of such – in others, is burdened.

I saw one capitalist collection. so there everything is ideally as alive, the trick is: the author, all palasatyh flies, while fresh, soaked in acetone.
but the deformation takes place..

23.09.2009 19:51, grottan

There was a question: I have a sirfida, in the course of Cheilosia, female, 3rd chl. antennae orange and just a giant somewhere 1/3 of the size of the eye (the shape is closer to a rectangle), eyes are naked, face is naked, arista is naked, legs are completely black, body with a bronze tint, in small light hairs, 4 mm. Photos, what could such made, do not judge ... my version of Cheilosia sahlbergi (Becker, 1894), but maybe someone has other thoughts ?

At the top, in the options - reply, then-review, after opening the desired file - "attach this file"; window text then. ОК?

And "palasatye" - is it hto? In the sense that Spilomyia diophthalma (far more striped-straight tigers), for example, do not lose anything from their beauty.

And where was she caught? What time of year is it? For Cheilosia, it would also be interesting to know what colors it is caught on.

Friends, can I, as the most inexperienced, be the first to blurt out my version? And then you will definitely correct me. smile.gif
Yes, is it really only 4 mm in size?
And yet, I still don't know if she has black bristles on the back edge of the shield or not.

Och. I want to ask: who are they? mol.gif But I anticipate Alex 2611's outrage: "are you kidding me again?" (or alternatively: "it's better to touch once than to see 10 times")... and so I want to, so I want to ask...

Eastern Carpathians, 1500 m above sea level, on Potentilla aurea L., there are short light bristles on the scutellum (less than half the length of the scutellum).

I thought everyone knew the famous phrase about the sirfid: "This is not a wasp, this is a striped fly"
And you reacted so seriously… rolleyes.gif

This is either E. abusiva or E. arbustorum . If valasa on arista is short, E. abusiva is long, and E. arbustorum is long. I think it's abusiwa. You can see (to Arist smile.gif).

I think it's abusiwa: in the male, the dusting is clearly visible in the form of stripes on the mid-spine cool.gif

Here is another picture of the mosquito (another copy) this one is larger - the body length is about 15mm, maybe it will help in determining. September 5, same shooting location.

Last time I lied, that mosquito was also Keroplat u s, but not tipuloides, but this time it seems to be exactly it.

Thanks! So there are two types. I thought it was a female of the same species that laid eggs and hadn't had time to do so yet. Andrey, do you have any hope of identifying the mosquito in the first photo? I know it's difficult from the photo.

To grottan
I'd like to know where he's from... If, for example, from the East of Russia (from Transbaikalia and beyond), then it would be possible to call it (if you can't see it) Sherkhan... With the last tergite in the photo-it is not clear...

There are types, so to speak, "textbook", on the cat. it is enough to look with one eye, but in the vast majority of cases, binocular vision is required, in the narrow and broad sense of the word. I break into the open gate, everyone keeps saying this here (and Alexey 2611 even has such a saying at all).
Regarding Sph. shirchan Violovitsh, 1957, its abdomen (very similar to your specimen) and surstil look (Violovich, p. 178) as follows:

Yes, dear Alex 2611, you are a real philosopher (in a non-reprehensible sense) smile.gif , because the fundamental basis of philosophy is doubt umnik.gif(and I kept thinking, who is it in the polls "philosopher is called?).
Of course, you need to hold it in your hands (in most cases, the defining signs are not visible in the photo), but the intuition of those who successfully determine from the photo amazes me, I envy...

01.10.2009 11:09, алекс 2611

Dear Justus and grottan, If you can, please send us more photos of the sirfid. I enjoy it immensely. True, the pleasure is combined with a slight inferiority complex-I have painfully poor fees for sirfids. But interesting.
