Well, since this is the case, I'll post my model. shuffle.gif Everything is based on a fishing podsak, apparently made in China. I changed all the fasteners to aluminum, I invented the hoop myself. The last photo shows a native hoop, but it's not folding and I don't use it. All this has been working for eight years and there were no special problems.

For mowing, I always use round hoops, but I saw that there are also some slightly unusual shapes. What, I wonder, are their advantages? Do you have any opinions on this?

There are opinions. With an arc, you capture a small part of the ground, but with a flat side, you capture more, +cutting off falling ones, for example. And the elongated part in the distance helps to snatch purposefully kakyu-thread a nimble beast sitting among the branches..Round-relatively often gets stuck in branches or slightly shakes them in advance.
He himself bent his nets in a similar way, as a result of empiricism.

I recently bought a net from Entomon.A question immediately arose.Right here http://www.entomon.ru/online/goodsGroup.php?id=3 it is said that the nets "consist of three links with the possibility of fixing any length."Has anyone had any experience using such nets? Does anyone know how to fix links in these nets? For some reason, having extended the link of the net, it is impossible to fix it in any way.The extended link is not fixed and returns to its original state in the vertical position.I really hope for help.

28.06.2010 13:26, Victor Gazanchidis

I use these nets for about 2 years. I can say that the links, if they are in extreme long positions, often break in the area of the joints from sharp strokes. 2-3 sticks have already been thrown out. So it is better not to spin up the links to the full. But they are fixed without problems just by turning one link relative to the other, so try it.

I dug up an old topic, but nevertheless relevant to me. Gentlemen entomologists, explain to the uninformed. Until recently, I used a homemade net, which I left last year in one of the expeditions. Therefore, there was a need to purchase a new one. Actually, the question is as follows. Entomon offers a water fishing net. Has anyone used it? How is it in terms of convenience and reliability? I just need one for catching frogs smile.gif

There is a net bag with a diameter of 30 cm (made in the Czech Republic). On sale I found an inexpensive hoop with a diameter of 35 cm (made in Korea). How do you think it will climb it?

If the bag does not stretch, then you will have to cut it and sew a wedge.

I read about the use of a belt spring as a net hoop, used in chainsaw starters, outboard motors, etc. But it was written that it can not be drilled. Maybe someone has experience in this regard (its fastening, etc.) and why it is impossible to drill? in theory, if it can be manually folded into a small circle, it will be very compact and mobile.

09.03.2012 23:43, Hierophis

The spring should not be drilled because it is very hard.
But the hole can be made quite easily, best of all-by etching in salt under voltage. But this is still quite a process.

Therefore, there is an even easier way-to release on a gas stove, drill, and harden there, for rural areas-

10.03.2012 1:14, tiger33

With etching faced, I think there will not be a special problem. Yes, and I think it's still easier to harden/etch than to properly heat /harden on the stove, but this is IMHO.

And you can take any spring, maybe someone has a practice of using it? Well, for example, does it spring when fishing, how well does it keep its shape?

Already all Google wiped. Maybe someone knows an online store that sells fishing podsachkami? I found a couple, but there are such microscopic pictures that the design of the hoop attachment is not clear.

The problem is also in the attachment point of the hoop to the stick, the nut together with the plastic tab flies out of the knee. I soldered nuts, three pieces, sharpened and hammered into the knee, it turned out quite reliably, but of course the hoop bursts in places of riveting, then you can do it yourself.

What kind of fabric was used on the bag?

Not an option at all. If you just remove all the plastic and rivet all the parts into a single structure, because otherwise this net will fall apart at the first sharp swing.

I wave them quite actively(with its help and on the fly, and on the ground, and on the bushes I take insects), I wander through the mountains-along the valleys, I went around half the Crimea and everything is fine with it, ... see, a lot depends on my hands too...)

I found an interesting piece in a tour store. Sticks for mountain climbing support. Lightweight, sturdy telescopic poles. The end of the stick can be cut off and made under the rim mount. Our prices range from$ 30 (2 pieces) to 100.

Maybe someone will need it. I came up with a way to repair such Chinese nets in the field, with minimal improvised means.

So. We take the handle with the Chinese round washer that has flown out. We throw out this puck, it's important.
We take two hex nuts and a more or less long bolt, with a thread exactly like the bolt on the hoop of a net. Nuts and bolts can be purchased at any market for 5 rubles apiece. We wind the nuts on the tip of the bolt, as evenly and tightly as possible. Heat for about 5 minutes in any way - on the stove, on the fire, on the burner, but not until red. Using tweezers, we take a heated bolt with nuts (higher than the nuts) and press both nuts into the plastic head at the end of the handle. In the previous photo, the head is on the left. Keep it flat until the plastic hardens by 50%. The plastic that has come out is leveled with a metal object on top of the nut, until the plastic is frozen. Align the bolt again, wait for the final solidification and unscrew the bolt. That's it, the net is ready to go. I restored the two handles this way, sort of securely. I will test it soon. The whole process takes only a few minutes.

Owners of small unpatched podsaks should take a couple of nuts with them on the expedition, as a repair kit. In this case, you do not need to solder them, because when heated, the solder can be desoldered.

Also, all the upper parts of the handle knees must be secured in advance with electrical tape and metal clamps, because they easily crack when twisted.

Isn't it easier to just put these nuts inside the tube on epoxy than to melt plastic?

Definitely not easier.

The nuts in the tube are simply hammered in with a hammer and drilled from the outside. Instead of nuts, it is better to take a long threaded bushing or a self-wedging dowel with a thread. Nuts are for field repairs.

The end of the stick does not need to be cut off. Just make a nozzle-a tube with a rim, put on a stick and fixed through the side hole in it and the nozzle with a hairpin. To prevent it from getting lost, it is attached to the stick with an elastic band. I use this net for the second season. Very convenient, thanks to a light and long enough stick. I also use it for its direct purpose - for mountain crossings in bad weather, when I don't have to catch fish. There is also a second stick, in reserve and for trekking. I put them on my backpack in populated areas, and everyone thinks I'm a tourist. smile.gif

I want to order a net in Entomon, but I can't decide which one.
http://www.entomon.ru/online/goodsGroup.php?id=3

Hoop and bag for mowing net (Ø 35 cm, depth 60 cm)
Hoop and bag for mowing net (Ø 45 cm)
Handle to the mowing net (one knee, length 80 cm)
Telescopic handle for mowing net (two knees, length 140 cm)

Take a 45 cm hoop and handle 80 or 140 to take... can you tell me what's best?

Handle 140 (folded 70 cm somewhere) and hoop 45. In my opinion, the very thing.

It will still work for water. But for fishing on land (in years) it is too rough. I recommend using several nets for different purposes.

I remember when there was no mass importation of nets from China, aquarium nets were made of netted tulle.

31.12.2012 15:59, alex017

Well, even if it is rough, what is the name of this grid? She is very good at fishing in the water....
I don't know how to weave.

I don't know what this particular fabric is called: I recommend using a nylon net for fishing in water (sometimes they stretch it against mosquitoes), and for catching "in years" ordinary cotton gauze.

31.12.2012 16:15, vafdog

lining mesh (?)

and it also looks like a mosquito

31.12.2012 16:49, alex017

From the lining I have a net. g. Can not be used. You need something that has less resistance to water/air and is lighter. This net with nets is just perfect in my opinion...
Mosquito - too rough.
