By the way I like the Holarctic whitebait database - http://www.pieris.ch/pieridae.html. Well done, it should follow the same principle.
As for photos of species in nature, I'll look at the definition by photo section, where I've already collected a lot of things. It remains only, dear participants, to photograph all the types, subspecies and forms that you have.

20.10.2007 13:17, AntSkr

By the way, as a site author http://babochki.narod.ru/ did you get such photos by scanning them? I tried, but nothing turned frown.gifout Here such a quality is desirable and do for the site...
And also - when you take a photo-put a ruler at the bottom for scale, there will not be a ruler on the site itself (I'll cut it out), but there will be a centimeter strip.

Published a trial version of the site - http://lycaenidae.narod.ru/. The central page does not work (there will be descriptions of views with photos), the left part - "stole" from leps.it shuffle.gifhowever, I changed it a little so that it didn't look like it at all... So far, only the names of khvostatok have been written (I spent 2 hours driving them in). I think we need to make them first, otherwise this is only a fifth of all pigeon girls, and there are still many more to write...

Suggestions for website design are welcome.

I post my photos of pigeons. All photos were taken in June-July 2007 in the vicinity of Blagoveshchensk. I do not know the names, I am not a specialist in golubyankiteapot.gif, but if they are useful to anyone, I will be glad smile.gif

Suggestions are accepted not by design but by engine?
if so, then you should try making pages without frames. This is more difficult, but it will avoid some problems (for example, with indexing in search engines).

If there are no frames, then where should I write the list of views? All the views are written in the left frame... Otherwise, many pages can simply confuse the visitor to the site...

21.10.2007 9:33, Vadim Yakubovich

All the views are written in the left frame.

I understood that. There are two possible options. Either scripts, you will get a "floating" list on the left, or use the means of" generating " pages.
One of these days I'll take the time to try to sketch out a project for illustration. In order not to flood, I suggest writing in a personal account, and preferably on soap.

To RippeR:
For Lake Baikal, Ahlbergia frivadszkyi was usually given. A. leei, as is known, was described from Northern China, and this is far from Baikal, because even for Mongolia, only A was previously given.frivaldszkyi. Tuzov seems to have leei for the Sayan Mountains and Southern Transbaikalia, but is there a link to the material?
Accordingly, the questions are as follows:
To RippeR: Why is the view defined as leei and not frivaldszkyi?
To All: Does anyone have their own confirmed A. leei findings in Russia?

There are some errors in the definition.
In fact, Dinusik's photos show:
1-Lycaena phlaeas chinensis (apparently male)
2 - same species, only upper wings (apparently female)
3-female Plebejus argus coreana
4-male Polyommatus icarus fuchsii (there are some color details from P. tsvetajevi, such as marginal dots on the hind wings, but this is not her; such icars are also found in the Khabar region. And, in general, Icarus in the Amur region is a very changeable thingsmile.gif)

I also thought for a long time whether it was Frivaldski or Ley. But I looked at the time of summer-for Lei-April-May, for frivaldsokogo-May-June-mid-July. That's why I christened him Lei.. And some more details in the drawing, which, although it is impossible to say with absolute accuracy, but some symptoms can be traced.

So the time of summer is a stretchable concept. It may depend on the exposure, total altitude above sea level, etc. In general, of course, in the summer of frivaldszkyi from the first days of May will not surprise, but April 22, really, in my opinion, a little early.. Maybe it was an unusually early spring in the Baikal region this year?
Tell me, are there any other butterflies in the series? And in other places this season Ahlbergia was observed later? I think that before analyzing the genitalia, one can speak of the species as leei with great caution, since this means either the presence of two very close sympatric species in the Baikal region,or even the replacement of A. frivaldszkyi in this region by A. leei. In any case, this is not a generally accepted point of view.

22.10.2007 13:01, RippeR

I have 4 copies.. True, I have already straightened everyone out.. 2 copies in April, on the 22nd, in Angasolka, the third is also in Angasolka, but on May 10, the 4th is on May 12 in Listvyanka village.. Catching Dorcadion.
I can't analyze the genitals, because I don't know how to digest themfrown.gif. I tried to pull them out of fresh ones, but I only ruined the abdomen shuffle.gif
If I learn how to pull out my genitals , I'll pull them out and deal with the view completely.. But so far the verdict is this..
Spring in the Baikal region was really early, but I don't think it was that early.. Well, what can I say, you need to ask Dorcadion about the rest, since he was there, he caught, he saw with his own eyes smile.gif

do you have a lei for comparison? It's just that outwardly ley and Frivoldsky are the same thing (by Ace), but if you have experience with real actions, then it's a different matter..

I would take up the site, but it's very difficult to do everything myself... At least the texts should be there, and the design can be done.
And best of all, with subspecies were. It would also be nice to write about the forms...
I would like to make a website about Palearctic crested whales first...
Through the joint efforts of forum participants, you can create a website that is no worse than foreign ones.

It looks like I haven't read this very carefully before. Tufts are a pretty serious topic. Currently, the family is being reviewed, and there are a lot of new and incomprehensible things. In areas that are poorly explored (at least in China), new species are constantly being discovered. The coverage is gigantic, the work is colossal. Sorry for the offtop.

But even a little work on this topic, who can do as much as they can, in an orderly form, and not as on the site-will be great!

28.10.2007 12:27, Pavel Morozov

Then all those who want to study should coordinate their actions together and determine a specific field of activity for each of them. That is, someone is studying Europe, someone is studying the Caucasus and Transcaucasia, someone is studying Central Asia. someone Far East, etc.

28.10.2007 12:43, RippeR

This will be in the interests of everyone.. i.e. who is interested in the Caucasus-searches and sends a list, and then photos of the Caucasus, etc. The rest help in any way they can, depending on the desire and opportunity.. etc. I.e. this is not a reason to stop wink.gif

Colleagues, take a look at the site http://lycaen.narod.ru/ There is a slightly redesigned menu based on the AntSkr website. I didn't add or remove anything, I'm not an expert on pigeons. Opinions about this type of menu in the personal account.

The species is successful, but only the subfamilies Polyommatinae and Lycaeninae should be moved to a lower level-otherwise they are now on the same level as the family.

29.10.2007 8:57, RippeR

The idea is interesting! The only thing that I would like to change is to apply this system for Detachments and families... And it is better to write the list of genera with species as a list on a separate page, as otherwise it will make it difficult to handle the list and cause some inconvenience..

It's not a problem. Thanks for the comment, I was in a hurry. The question is in the design, if it's OK, then you can continue.

Here's the question. I have a large monitor and high resolution. I took as a basis 17 inches and 1024x768 resolution. To push everything on the left side, you can reduce the font size and make abbreviations in the names of authors. And the main information should be placed in the right half of the screen, as was intended by AntSkr
