Agrodiaetus damocles krymaeus (Sheljuzhko, 1928) - Crimea, Perevalnoye village.
female, June 17, 2009
[attachmentid ()=74614]

No offense, but the production was not successful.

"No offense, but the production was not successful." - it is quite possible, but how should it be? confused.gif
Need to? Avoid staged shots altogether. Strictly IMHO...

"No offense, but the production was not successful." - it is quite possible, but how should it be? confused.gif

If you make a statement, then the insect should be in a natural position on a natural substrate for it. Also, it should not show any traces of the photographer's influence. In this case, all three points were not met.

30.10.2009 1:47, Kharkovbut

Yes, I agree, I am far from a great photographer and my vocation is different... But this does not mean that all my pictures are staged by definition! If I took a staged photo, I ALWAYS talk about it! Hurtful...
weep.gif
Pavel, please don't be offended. I didn't mean everything you've written here. smile.gif I just expressed my opinion about staged photos. I prefer to make them natural, for me this is the whole buzz. I admit that things may be different for others.

In any case, please forgive me if I put it too harshly.

This is true, however, if it is not a particular problem to shoot the fauna of diaries without setting up a special problem, then here are nocturnal and preimagital stages - in most cases - alas...
It's hard to argue. smile.gif However, the production is different.

If a dustpan landed on the screen and was photographed there , is this a production? (Is this behavior natural for scoops? smile.gif)

Or if the blade of grass on which the caterpillar was sitting was turned in order to better illuminate it - setting? Strictly speaking, yes...

But there is also another setting. When the insect is caught, it is moved to the studio and filmed there. Yes, even in the refrigerator pre-sat... I personally am not interested in doing such things. smile.gif Although I fully admit (and even knowsmile.gif) that this can also bring benefits and pleasure. smile.gif

but then how to understand okoyem's comment:

Pasha, don't be offended, it's not a production, so it's not a production. But just the first picture of the female looks very unnatural. Healthy females never sit on rocks, and when resting, they don't sit with their heads up. Moreover, the head almost lies on the paws, the side is dark, as if it is worn from pressing, and on the costal edge of the front wing in a characteristic place a scar is visible as from a wing crease, which (usually) in agrodietuses very often happens when caught in nets. At the same time, I know that you also shoot productions (chervonets) and I know that photographing a female agrodiatus is very difficult - it is extremely shy, does not let you go and immediately flies far away, dark, and is lost from sight.
And what conclusion could I draw after all this? smile.gif
In general, there is something wrong with this female. I have been observing this species for 6 years - no butterfly has ever landed like this. And your male-here he smile.gifsits Correctly smile.gif

But if a person is an "amateur" - what's the point of lying?
...
On a steep slope for about an hour I had to climb back and forth! At the same time, it was lost twice, and then reappeared. When she sat on a rock (why a rock? but hr ... n doesn't know!)

So I'm not accusing you of anything. smile.gif

I don't know about the pigeons, I've never driven them for an hour, but if you drive a moth for ten or fifteen minutes, it starts to sit down randomly and wherever it gets, and then refuses to take off at all. Maybe you just drove it in an hour?

Yes, yes, that's it.
By the way, in my opinion, she doesn't even have enough left palpel-there, the proboscis is exposed like that.

I don't know why there were no males. But on June 17, it's actually a little early, at least on Echki-Dag, females only start to come out in 10 days. Although it will probably be warmer in Orlinoye...

... if the moth is driven for ten or fifteen minutes, it begins to land randomly and wherever it gets, and then refuses to take off at all. ...
I confirm this observation. The moth can be driven relatively quickly to almost complete immobility.
Only I rarely bother with that. Primarivayu ethyl acetate and take pictures. I only need the snapshot as a photo document for the list of encountered species.

The caterpillars were on the periphery of the anthills under the rocks - they were already going to pupate. I turned the stone over and drove the ants away... I took a couple of shots... I took the tracks... Males emerged from the pupae, but the wings did not spread... Sorry... Apparently-the ants jinxed it.

Amanda... Hardly...
From this angle, the shade would have been greenish for Amanda...
And without the undergarments-divination on...

Yes, you're right, I put a question mark just in case, but Polyommatus amandus Schneider, 1792 doesn't quite show up.

30.10.2009 22:28, Kharkovbut

mad.gif wall.gif The shade depends on a lot of things: light, camera settings... You don't need an undergarment to identify Amanda.
