I saw one type of Lasiocampidae in Berlin - mating butterflies. Vps to all - who is the holotype?

I wonder if you need to cook it all of a sudden?

10.02.2009 10:19, Yakovlev

Cooked Zolotukhin, what to do-the kind of rare African. And their passions are afrikans

And just one more photo-a mini-cartoon digression from the topic.
The" subspecies " of the topic is HOW they do it.

Bravo, gumenuk! I have never witnessed such promiscuity among leaf eaters. After all, not even interspecific, but intergeneric!!!

It's funny that in the wasp pair there is a female at the back. Interesting pose...

18.02.2009 8:09, Egorus

for Alex 2611
, yes, it was pretty amazing. The male tried to fly away. The female
held on to the leaf and tried to hold the male. But this
is only an impression. Maybe she was trying to disconnect, too.
If you mentally rotate the male clockwise, around
the mating point, he will be "on top". The object came into
view unexpectedly. 5 pictures were taken, almost all identical.
Then my attention shifted to the other, main object of the day, and
I didn't see how the wasps "parted".
I have no other observations of mating between male and female wasps.
Therefore, it is not clear whether the photo shows the main or random mating pose - ???

imagine if female racehorses kept males lol.gif

Mating of long-legged mosquitoes, limoniid probably. Pay attention to the difference in the size of the male and femaleeek.gif, and the process itself is not fast: a day after photographing them, they were still linked.
