19. IX. 2011 hatched from the pupa, was caught by a caterpillar on an aspen tree, in the Voronezh forest Laothoe populi. ex larva, wingspan only 5.5 cm

Either the summer was cold, or you kept a caterpillar next to the refrigerator.

Here are my Bumblebees. I caught them all myself.

In the first picture, I ask you to help identify the Far Eastern ones, it seems to me that this is Hemaris affinis. Although not a fact.
Primorsky Krai, Novogeorgievka 20.07.2004

The second picture shows Hemaris tityus, one of our Ural, and the one below from Buryatia. It is a little strange, the front wings are more elongated. Who has any opinions?
upper Chelyabinsk region Snezhinsk 27.05.1991
lower Buryatia lake.Gusinoe 7.06.2007

Well, in the third picture all together. Interestingly, Dagestani Hemaris fuciformis on the left, the top three are larger than our Ural ones, and the bottom two are on the left.

Please help forumchan confirm the correctness of the definition of two Far Eastern marumbas and bumblebees. In the category, the definition of butterflies was not very well defined, only one responded to the first two hawks...

16.11.2011 18:07, Sergey Rybalkin

Please help me deal with small wine hawks.

In the picture, the left row is from the Southern Urals, the right row is from Dagestan. Interestingly, in Dagestan there are two color forms: pink on the top right and brown on the top right.
Some refer the brown ones to a separate species - D. suellus.
How justified is this?
Also, please respond to our experts ' previous messages.

Sergey, read about the suelus status here ВВВ.tpittaway.tripod.com/china/d_por.htm

Pro rod Marumba: priattachil 2 photos. How would I count "jankowskii"?, and not "maacki"
About the genus Hemaris: in addition to "affinis", there is a similar species"alternata" on the DV. Visually, the affinis has a narrower edge band on the rear fenders. But this is just my opinion : -), I haven't seen the description of "alternata".
