What are the earliest dates of C. alfacariensis sightings in your area? Is there a known food plant of this species? Thanks!

The latest issue of Atalanta describes 2 species of Himalayan egg yolks:

Colias jomooseri Miller, 2009
Colias wernerbacki Miller, 2009

Do you have a copy of the article or at least specify the region of the description, plz.

17.05.2010 11:08, rhopalocera.com

I have the original article. But I rarely respond to gentlemen without a name.

The differences are both morphological and ecological. I don't suppose you've ever really observed them in nature.

Male and female Colias erate from the steppes of the Orenburg region. The Shore Of The Iriklinsky Reservoir - 18.08.2010.
But who's down there ? Chrysodona form or other species ? Caught there on the same day.

Colias chrysotheme at the bottom

Th-somehow I don't think so...

06.09.2010 13:30, Vlad Proklov

what do you think?

Which is one of the many forms of erate...

erate is, I caught such in the Volgograd region...

I also tend to think that this is a form of ereit. Because after two days of fishing, I did not see any more orangish ones in this place,

06.09.2010 13:56, Vlad Proklov

do the veins and border on the rear wing bother you?

Yes, erate has a lot of different forms!
But the front fenders are not sharp at all!

As for me, it's definitely not a chrysotheme. In chrysothemum, the front wings are sharp, the black border on them is narrow, the border of black and yellow is even, clear. And this is quite a normal erata, if of course we consider it a separate species, and not a form of crocea.

Here's a comparison of my fees.
At the top is chrysotheme, at the bottom is karate, almost the same as sergeySVK

Yesterday I caught an erata in the Ryazan region. How rare is this find? I've never caught it there before.

06.09.2010 19:20, Elena Skobcova

In addition-erates caught in the Kharkiv region, in one place and on one day(03.10.1991). Males are very different in the clarity and width of the border.

Which clearly demonstrates that there are no subspecies (ermak is described as large and bright lol.gif).

08.09.2010 12:10, sergeySVK

Of course, I can be wrong, because I started collecting butterflies a year ago. But on Colias croceus, as it seems to me, something does not look like,

13.09.2010 12:09, Vlad Proklov

And, accordingly, Grieshuber's opinion

Gy smile.gifGrieshuber's opinion is very clear in this article (p. 96):

Colias myrmidone ermak Grum-Grshimailo, 1890 is considered here as an ecological variation, thus a junior subjective synonym of Colias myrmidone (Esper, [1781]).

13.09.2010 21:38, Victor Gazanchidis

As I already wrote, I caught these butterflies in the Kasimov district of the Ryazan region on 05.09.2010. We've never seen them there before. I guess it's erata, is it?

Didn't Blinushov catch them? Get in touch with them-which is easier...

As for the "subspecies" ermak-we have absolutely similar C. myrmidone flying in the coniferous forests of Zasurye (east of the Penza region) (especially individuals of the second sting) - there is simply a boreal form...

Tell me, what kind of yolk is this?
Ser. Sept., Luhansk region of Ukraine, glade of floodplain forest. Together with it, the common species erate, crocea are caught.
