Come on, the second bird is a lark.
http://molbiol.ru/forums/index.php?showtop...dpost&p=1549024
Unresolved issues with birds in previous posts took time to study the literature and confirm the specialist Nechaev Vitaly Andreevich, for which he is very grateful.
In the photo with Lapland plantain, a field lark is in the background.

Well, that's quod erat demonstrandum. And Anthrenus-something (which I personally did not doubt) was right! Know our people! smile.gif

Among the photos of brown, there were also golden and pale thrushes. 10.10.2015 Kholmsk.
Pale Thrush The first three photos.
The pale thrush is Turdus pallidus. This blackbird, unlike the olive thrush, does not have a white eyebrow. It breeds in Primorye and the Amur region; on Sakhalin, it is a rare species during migration. I also enjoyed sea buckthorn in the garden.

The golden thrush
is about the size of a gray starling. Weight 70-80 g. distinctive feature of the male in mating dress: the upper body and head are olive-brown, the abdomen is white; the goiter and sides of the body are bright red. On the white throat there are black speckles, the sides of the head are black. The female is similar to the male, but paler. Young birds are less spotted and rufous than adults. It is a common breeding migratory species in the southern and central regions of Sakhalin. Wintering grounds in southern Japan and Southeast Asia. Food items: insects (in summer), earthworms, spiders, juicy fruits of plants. They were pecking at sea buckthorn in my garden.

March 29, 2016, pos. Chaplanovo, Kholmsky district. In the dry language of statistics. As a percentage of the long-term monthly precipitation rate, 160% fell in April. The average monthly temperature for April was 2 degrees above normal. The north-westerly and south-easterly winds have the highest frequency - 25% each, which indicates an almost equal struggle between winter and spring. The average wind speed for April is 4.4 m/s.

Olga, could you rent your own time machine? I really want to drive in 2014 to disperse the Maidan.

We all have our own car in our heads. Fixed the error. Maybe we don't need a car, but our snowy and dank spring.

Don't you want to go back to the time of the #blood dictator, when the hryvnia was 8, the rent was scanty, and most importantly - the country lived in peace and harmony, and the brother didn't kill the brother? If not, I'm definitely not the one who's sick in the head between the two of us. If I had a time machine, I wouldn't even have to break up the Maidan, I would just download a selection of today's news to a hundred flash drives and distribute them to the centurions on the Maidan. They would have realized it themselves (even the most damned ones), been horrified, repented, and dispersed. Now it's not going to work out that way on your ass. And I feel that you, too, are gnawing at the deep realization that the Maidan was a terrible mistake, but too much has already happened to admit it even to yourself. That is why the anger that has spilled out at the moment in rudeness and insults sharpens you. I ask everyone else to apologize for offtop.

Garny lads, solve your zhivtoblokidnye problems in the personal account. No need to shit on such a good topic. Fortunately, Sakhalin is very far from Ukraine...

Kamchatka wagtails appeared five days ago. And today the finch, bluetail and oatmeal, possibly remez. the latter breeds in the north of the island, wintering in Korea, Japan and China. Finches also winter in Japan and Korea, but in the south of Sakhalin we see them mainly in spring, when they fly to the main nesting sites in the central and northern regions of Sakhalin.

The bird seen on April 15, Nechaev Vitaly Andreevich identified. We saw a couple more on the hill, they sing wonderfully.

"The bird you met on the veranda on April 15 is called the Siberian redstart. It's a female. Redtails have a red tail and a white spot ("mirror"). on the wings. A rare bird of Sakhalin. It may nest on the island in populated areas (in human buildings), in particular in dachas, under bridges, or in abandoned buildings."

For the first time this bird was described as a species in 1776 by the largest researcher of Siberia P. S. Pallas, and it was assigned the Russian specific name – Siberian redstart.

The origin of the generic name of these birds – redstart-is interesting. It is associated with the bright rusty-red color of the tail feathers, which, when unfolded, "burns" like the coals of a dying fire in a dark night.

Vegetable seedlings are being grown. People get peppers, cucumbers, and even tomatoes only from greenhouses. I'm trying to grow tomatoes in the open ground even through seedlings.
Meanwhile, there are largs on the coast. A two-month-old cub, physically developed, basks on the rocks, as the water temperature is low for it. They are born white, and the color appears by the month.

Kamchatka wagtails appear on Sakhalin in late March. Initially, this bird settles on the roofs of houses or near heating mains, because these places are more heated. While there is still snow at the heating mains, the ground is already warmed up, and the first greenery and insects appear. and the bird is insectivorous. It does not disdain food waste. Surprisingly, impudent sparrows are afraid of it. I watched them fly away from the ditch as soon as the wagtail came to drink. Just getting warmer, birds can already be seen on the hills.
The Kamchatka wagtail winters in Japan and Southeast Asia. From these places, her flight is interesting. The Kamchatka wagtail is not a gregarious bird. But for the duration of the flight, it is nailed to a flock of stronger birds, for example, swans. Two or three wagtails are attached to them side by side, they are left to the will of the orientation of these large birds, and they roam.
As soon as they reach the ground, they are very happy. They run around shaking their tails. The reason for this tail pendulum has not yet been clarified. It is assumed that swaying helps to determine whether birds belong to a particular species. For this manner, the Italians call the wagtail a ballerina.
I saw these black and white beauties walking along the coast more than once, even sitting on a pier far from the shore. The day before yesterday, they huddled on the roof of a house and watched the sunset. until the sun went down. True enough, people were looking at him and talking to each other. It was at their hubbub that I looked out the window.

Moths appeared. Trichodezia kindermanni (Bremer, 1864)is dark, with large white spots on the wing margin. According to Bianor Epirrhoe supergressa.
People catch the Sim. When reaching puberty, the back of this salmon darkens, the stripes on the sides of the body become bright red with a crimson tint, on the abdomen they merge into a common longitudinal stripe, colored lighter. It is no coincidence that Shima means "cherry salmon"in English and Japanese.

Wow fade away! Compared to our burnt-out steppe, where you now need to look for flowers individually with binoculars, you just have a solid flowerbed. The last photo causes involuntary salivation, even though I just had a big meal.

13.09.2016, southwest coast of Sakhalin, just north of Kholmsk.
The grey heron is not numerous during seasonal migrations.
This is a large bird up to 2 kg with characteristic features: gray color of the back and top of the wings, white head and abdomen, black crest on the head
(clearly visible in the photo of the heron in flight with prey in its beak). The beak and legs are yellow. Young birds are darker with greenish legs and a black cap on the head.
In the evening, it's nice not just to wander along the shore, but to watch the gray heron. Locals collect small shrimp-chilim.

In August, three, as it seemed to me, large caddis flies flew into the world. I was curious about who they were. It turned out to be Eubasilissa regina (MacLachlan, 1871), which has a blue tint on the lower wings and an orange stripe, a common appearance in the south of Sakhalin. But I saw them for the first time, so I decided to show them.

Gandaritis fixseni (Bremer, 1864)
Distribution
Regions of Russia: #37. Nizhne-Amursky; #38. Sakhalin Island; #39. Yuzhno-Kurilsky; #40. Primorsky.

This interesting moth was born last year on 16.09.2015. And this year the world didn't attract any of them. But in the forest, especially along the paths among the bamboo, it could be seen from the beginning of August already at 16 o'clock in a cloudy sky. There were a lot of butterflies.
On the website http://www.jpmoth.org/Geometridae/Larentii...is_fixseni.html Actinidia Actinidia is listed among the forage plants. Actinidia are relict plants that have been preserved in East Asia since the Tertiary period, when the Far East had a subtropical climate. Later, due to the glaciation of the Northern Hemisphere, the climatic conditions became more severe. However, the glaciation did not affect some areas of the Far East, but negatively affected the climate. As a result of the cold snap, a large number of the tertiary flora of the Far East disappeared, and only a few, including actinidia, adapted to the changed conditions and have survived to this day.

We have Actinidia kolomikta (Maxim.) Maxim growing on Sakhalin. ITS leaves, like chameleons, change their color: at the beginning of growth they are bronze, then green with a transition to dark green, before flowering (mainly in open places), the ends of most leaves become bright white, and after flowering-pink, then crimson — red. Fruits are cylindrical in shape up to 1.8 cm long, dark green, with dark, longitudinal stripes, edible, fragrant, delicate taste. In the autumn period, the leaves are colored in pink, yellow, light yellow or purple-red tones.

Sphingidae In
the first photo of hawk moth of the Leningrad region on the left
On Sakhalin there are Smerinthus caecus and Smerinthus planus. According to a person who has been fishing for 10 years, if the first hawk moth is found on the island, then he has never met the second one in all this time.

Macroglossum stellatarum (Linnaeus, 1758) is listed for Sakhalin, but has never been seen. But in the Crimea, in the first half of July, I observed fluffy acacia more than once at different times of the day: in the morning, at noon, in the evening. In Krasnodar, I saw it over a lilac tree at the end of July.
By the way, for the south of the Far East, it is listed as a migrant.
But from this genus came the remarkable Macroglossum pyrrhostictum Butler 1875. It is listed in the DV 2016 Catalog as a migrant for Primorye and Kunashir.

Pseudobaptria corydalaria (Graeser, 1889)

Correct for Trichodezia kindermanni (Bremer, 1864). Round white dots near the edge of the wing only in this species.

PS
in the second photo most likely this view:

Yes, after finding out, I also thought about it, we need to fix it. Thank you for reminding me. What's up in 2012? Once there, you can imagine the area.

By the way, this is a different view, there are no white round spots at the edge of the wing and the wing edge itself is colored differently:

I made some corrections. Thank you for identifying Epirrhoe supergressa and Trichobaptria exsecuta. I'll have to take a closer look.
Your photos show that we were passing through Kholmsk, waiting for the ferry to get to the mainland.

I was passing through Kholmsk. I was traveling with friends, hoping to work normally, but when the whole company prefers to drink and eat scallops, and is not interested in anything else, the work will not work out. In the end, I even broke away from the company and at least searched the vicinity of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, but still the fight turned out to be as unsuccessful as possible.
