Where?!?!

I join the question! Just the other day I was thinking about the possibility of catching her here.

Assmus (1858) cited it for "The Voronovsky Forest in the vicinity of Podolsk".
Modern finds are found in the Kaluga, Tula and Ryazan regions.
We need to catch the light in the oak forests now.

Polyploca ridens and we do not have a frequent guest. A single specimen was caught at this location on 29.04.14.. Well, not exactly from this point where the report is coming from, but about a hundred meters deep into the forest behind the screen, there is a clearing.

Yesterday afternoon, I made a small trip to the Cranberry Field swamp, which is already located in the Izyaslavsky district, but in fact from the house on the road there is only 9 km. The object for our region can be said to be unique, for the butterfly is interesting primarily for the only one in the region and a very small population of Vacciniina optilete. The trouble is that last year the swamp burned down, but I heard out of the corner of my ear that some part of it still survived, in fact, I went there to check it out. The picture is certainly depressing, although we managed to find a small isolated area of the swamp that was not damaged, but the hopes that the optics were preserved there are very small. Along the way, rubi, argiolus, cardamines, rhamni, io, xanthomelas and lathonia were noted, and a rather interesting find was the observation of a male Eudia pavonia in flight. There were certainly suggestions about the habitat of this species in our country, but still the meeting was very pleasant, just a little bit remained - to catch it smile.gif

If necessary, I am in the village of Kopylov, Makarovsky district, and at night I light a lamp.
The plot ends in the old zane6dbany (as it is in Russian-I don't remember) park

Sometimes something interesting arrives. Here's what I took on Monday (cuculia-chamomillae),
20160420_124755.jpg

the rest is banal, in the mass of moth hirtaria and cinctaria and scoops gothica, incerta and concpicillaris. Last week Cucullia gozmanyi, a pair of nycteola svecicus and a pair of Eupithecia dodoneata arrived.

Has anyone already caught Osmoderma barnabita this year? Or even caught and how? Do they fly to the light, for example?

Since the beginning of July . I found one on the sap (oak), the second in a hollow tree, also on an oak tree. During the day, I also saw how they flew high in the crowns.

Good evening, everyone. Yesterday we again went to Rezeny, which for 10 years everyone here probably got tired of the forum. But not for me, I'm only in my second year of driving. The place is so good that there are always some surprises. Yesterday was Dorcadion's Day, and the land was swarming - mostly fulvums, cinerariums, and pussilums. But there were pedestrees, and in places higher up the hill there were tauricums and even bileneatums. But this is actually at the edge of the forest.
But I wasn't following them. The main target was Acinopus ammophilus, whose remains were discovered three weeks ago in the same place. I rummaged through the entire check house that was only on the field, but it was a bummer. Still, I saw it, even held it in my hands, but it wasn't me who caught it, but Igor, our butterfly farmer. And just imagine, he didn't give it to me! Shame on you, Igor!
The second target was Pleurocleonus sollicitus / quadrivittatus, Sasha (eviforester) caught it in the Rezen this year, and in the Reaper reports it is still in 2009. I looked through all my eyes. I counted on Onthophagus kindermanni, there is a separate order. Also a yoke.
In addition to dorkash, many black-bodied animals crawled-gnaptor and asid lutos, of course opatrum and gonocephalum pusillum. Little by little the steeds, Camestris and soluta, rode up. About kravchikov in one word-the sea. The T-shirts are gone. I didn't take anything special, a few dorkashas, five asids - last year's all went to exchanges. Two Stephanocleonus nigrosuturatus. I'd like more of these.
Now for the surprises. Five earthen weevils were found - almost black, with traces of a white pattern, 12-14 mm. At home, I looked, one turned out to be Mecaspis caesa, I hope that this is it. M. alternans periodically comes across, although rarely. I can't identify four more. I have already gone through everything from Cleonini, almost inclined to Conorrhynchus, namely C. mendicus http://www.agrologica.es/informacion-plaga...nchus-mendicus/, but then I came across a distribution map-exclusively in the Mediterranean, it doesn't reach us. The main thing is that it has a double keel on its trunk, just like a piggy. I thought maybe it was a piggy, but still the habitus is different.
Sasha found the surprise of the day and brought it to me wrapped in a piece of paper. Some of the Muscovites know him. My "courier", two years drove from Chisinau to Moscow and back Zhukov on an exchange. Now he has violated Russian migration laws and is sitting at home. I carry it to catch it. And he caught Cassida canaliculata-healthy, 10 mm, was green as I don't know what. With black dots. In the stain, the color changed, became like polished copper. A very beautiful animal, already spread out, I'll stick it on the corner, although I usually prick beetles of this size. But here the hand, I feel, will not rise.
It's all. A helicopter, something like an Mi-2 with a hinged structure for spraying chemicals, was also constantly flying at us from behind the forest. On TV, they warned all week that they would pickle the forests, and they also called the Rezensky forest. And also Orhei, Hincesti, and the Codra zone. I don't want them to fuck up our May Kozhushchnu-Kapriyany-Kondritsa villages. We'll go south!" To the Bujac Pampas.
Sorry for a lot of writing.

Not much late. On Sunday again thoroughly explored the vicinity of the swamp " Cranberry field "(north of the Izyaslavsky district). The weather was not important, overcast, drizzled in the afternoon, only rubi, argiolus and rhamni from the daytime. But interestingly, even in such unfavorable weather, a pair of males of Aglia tau were seen.

02.05.16, Ukraine, Kherson region, a gully in the west of Berislav.

Flying is a typical set of butterflies for this time.

Podaliriyas often flew by, together with thick-headed ones, they landed on the mud; bavia were both where sage drooping blooms and where it does not bloom; there were no swallowtails; lemongrass actively began to fly in the afternoon. Of those not included in the photo, 1 admiral, 1 bloody bear, alfacariensis jaundice, cabbage leaves, and 1 aricia agestis were encountered.

Hello again, comrades!
Another trip took place in Davich, this time a little further north, to the Playul Fagului Nature Reserve, near the village of Bakhmut. The place is certainly picturesque, by the standards of a small republic it looks very impressive. Unfortunately, the cover was brighter than the content.
The whole forest is a giant jungle of nettles. 98% of the catch was collected on the edges and large trails. All the hardships fade before a new species of barbel, Phymatodes (Phymatodellus) rufipes (Fabricius, 1777)

I would like to add to the Evilforester-a report that almost no butterflies were seen in Bakhmut. A pair of whiteflies, pigeons, and draughtsmen that I've met on other hikes. On the very first clearing caught accidentally flew V. cardui and all. For catching butterflies, the hike turned out to be very dull.

A small report on a small march in the South of Ukraine 29.04-03.05.
Shustov and I started from Zaporizhia, via the Dnipropetrovsk region, to Oleshkin Sands, with the goal of seeing Cucullia inderiensis once again, which we caught there a few years ago. And then to the Odessa region to Kuyalnik, where svm and Damone were supposed to drive up from Kiev after spending two nights together, they had to leave, the people of Kiev went home, we went through the Elanets Steppe too. smile.gif I took a lot of photos, but there is a lot of it.
While driving around the Kakhov reservoir, we stopped several times, already in the Kherson region, to check whether Tomares nogelii flew out . I was struck by the huge number of Pseudophilotes bavius That swirled around the first opened inflorescences of sage drooping.
Pseudophilotes_bavius_IMG_1118.JPG
In the first viewed beams, there was no nogel. They found it only near the Republican. Flew out recently, but already mating and laying eggs and it's 29.04. early.
Tomares_nogelii_IMG_1128.JPG
After making sure that the nogel took off, we went to Oleshkinskie Peski.
Everything is as usual there smile.gif. A young empusa was the first to arrive and spent the whole night watching what we were doing, with other individuals joining in from time to time. which turned gray on last year's wormwood stalks, next to the screen.

Yes, we stopped by as always from Proletarka, no where and no one is there, just sand. smile.gif
I saw on the NPP website that they raised such a problem. But is this really the case? there are fresh coasts, but what went there? and autorals were always arranged there.

Continuation of the report.
From Oleshkinsky sands, we went to the Odessa region on the Kuyalnitsky estuary. After driving through the sleeping area of Odessa, we turned into the road between estuaries in the pouring rain. The Kiev group, which was already in place, gave us hope by phone that there was no rain at the fishing site.
The first impression of the chosen place is not very good. Small glades with steppe vegetation among the artificial plantings of crazy foresters, who for some reason planted the entire estuary with a wild mixture of trees and shrubs, rubbed lime slopes: elm, acacia, carcass, oak, apricot, scumpia, lilac and much more. We tried to climb large steppe areas, but a strong wind drove us back to the glades.
Having fished all night, during a very weak summer, several very interesting species arrived, but all in single specimens. and they couldn't be photographed live. Idaea filicata first found in Ukraine in 2014 by E. Khalaim in the Odessa region in Vilkovo and the scoop Exophyla rectangularis, also the second point on the mainland. This did not inspire us much.
there are almost no photos at all, except that svm will add them for this day.
Cucullia umbratica
picture: Cucullia_umbratica_IMG_1240.jpg

Calophasia lunula
picture: Calophasia_lunula_IMG_1242.jpg

Moreover, they caught it right over the village of Severinovka, dogs barked, and the headlights of cars passing below winked all night. The whole day of May Day was spent searching for another place for night fishing, simultaneously catching day and micro-ones and collecting beetles. Dorcadion tauricum, Dorcadion cinerarium, etc.
Among several interesting places, we stopped at a large gully on the opposite side of the estuary behind the village of Russkaya Slobodka.
The well-preserved southern steppe gave hope for an interesting night,

the screens were spread out at a considerable distance from each other at different heights of the slope.

The views were interesting, but it was hard to surprise us with these southern views:
Sideridis implexa

Drasteria caucasica

Cucullia argentina

Among the little things, I was surprised by a large number of Hyperlais dulcinalis, which is found in our south, with single specimens, and here dozens.

After seeing off the residents of Kiev, who cheered us up by showing us an owl caught by them, at least new to mainland Ukraine (two close European species, one of which is in the Crimea) on the way to the camp, we found a pair of Arctia festiva, with a female of very original color.
picture: Arctia_festiva_IMG_1326.jpg

Having collected a few beetles, we went to the Nikolaev region, to the Elanetsky steppe.
The first impression is depressing, in the usual place where we shine, there was a fire, fortunately before the beginning of the growing season, everything is green, but the bushes were badly damaged, and the curtin cereals do not look the best.
picture: ElanezIMG_1351.JPG
While we were inspecting the place, we made two super-finds:
The scoop Periphanes cora, which is well known to us from Zaporozhye, but in Ukraine we know all several points of its habitat, in the Mykolaiv region it is not included in their number. It was impossible to photograph it, the wind, active during the day butterflies quickly rushed past, and those that perched on sage leaves, did not let them get close, limited themselves to collected specimens.
Another find was a super beetle smile.gifalso familiar from Zaporozhye, more precisely in Melitopol, in Ukraine there are four points with old finds, and also from other regions, and then there are doubts about the species affiliation, but then this is a new species at least for mainland Ukraine.
Brachycerus sinuatus
picture: Brachycerus_sinuatus_IMG_1332.jpg
For the "light" we moved across the beam to a non-burning area.

The night did not bring anything good, in the mass of three species of scoops Mythimna alopecuri, Anarta trifolii, Cloantha hyperici, the rest were isolated, when we looked at the distribution at home, it turned out that 4 new species for the Mykolaiv region: Periphanes cora, Mythimna alopecuri, Cucullia verbasci and Epimecia ustula, also not bad, in one night. smile.gif
In the morning we went to the burning steppe. Bark flies, brachycerus eats . all the leaves of Bellevalia sarmatica (Bellevalia sarmatica), and one sweet lover, flowers:

The result of the trip is new views for collections, a lot of interesting points for macro, micro in the process of processing, materials on hot, transferred to specialists in groups.
well, the fees:

Greetings to the Lord!
It turned out yesterday another trip
according to the old tradition in Capriany. Until lunch, I shook off the blooming hawthorn trees, then we were covered with rain and hail, and until the evening we just got out of the forest. We found a lot of new places, with great prospects, but on better days.
Sorry, there are almost no photos.

Hello everyone
Yesterday I managed to escape to nature. The route was chosen more than once by the well-trodden one, along the railway track east of Zelva in the direction of D. Voronichi. There I decided to shine a light at night. I chose the same night fishing point as in the previous report for April 11 of this year. When I passed by this place in the afternoon, I saw that the frame for the screen remained in place as I left it. So I decided to stay here.
____________018.jpg

In the afternoon, the weather was +23 and sunny. From the butterflies I've seen...
Lycaenidae
Celastrina argiolus
Callophrys rubi

Pieridae
Gonepteryx rhamni
Leptidea sinapis
Anthocharis cardamines
Pieris rapae
Pieris napi

Nymphalidae
Issoria lathonia
Aglais io
Araschnia levana
Polygonia c-album
Pararge aegeria

Now about the night...
Years of moths razacharoval, only pleased with Polyploca ridens - in two copies. I turned on the light at 22.10, the flight started by twenty-three and ended by one in the morning in general. The May beetle was the first to fly to the screen, and after a while, the butterflies reluctantly flew as well.
The predominant species were Drymonia ruficornis and Egira conspicillaris, the rest were isolated.
Well, a list of what I remembered what was on the screen.

Drepanidae
Polyploca ridens

Noctuidae
Acronicta auricoma
Anarta trifolii
Conistra vaccinii
Egira conspicillaris
Orthosia gothica
Orthosia cerasi
Panolis flammea
Colocasia coryli

Notodontidae
Drymonia ruficornis
Notodonta dromedarius
Notodonta tritophus
Notodonta ziczac
Pheosia tremula
Pheosia gnoma
Pterostoma palpina

Sphingidae
Sphinx pinastri

Geometridae
Aethalura punctulata
Biston strataria
Cleora cinctaria
Ectropis crepuscularia
Ematurga atomaria
Ligdia adustata
Lycia hirtaria
Selenia dentaria
Chloroclysta siterata

Endromis versicolora A
few photos...
Laying of lemongrass. I didn't have time to take a picture when I was rushing.

Good evening, friends and comrades!
Happy big day to all of you. Because of the same holiday, we had a day off. We organized a group trip to the south. 30 km from Chisinau, the village of Razeni, where we annually fish Dorcadion cinerarium zubovi. The weather was certainly not so-so.
It was overcast, and it even started to rain in the end, but that didn't stop us. The catch is not AH! but personally, I came across another Poecilum rufipes, and a large group of Pilemia hirsutula, which I chased for several years, but still could not find, was found where I did not expect. So no matter what, the trip was a success smile.gif

Yes, we stopped by as always from Proletarka, no where and no one is there, just sand. smile.gif
I saw on the NPP website that they raised such a problem. But is this really the case? there are fresh coasts, but what went there? and autorals were always arranged there.

In general, I myself was on the Proletarka side in November, and I didn't see anything but traces of transport, except that in the distance one person is not clear what kind. They might be in a different part of the arena.
