Today I went not far for poliksenkami.. It's a pity the weather didn't turn out, so nothing ran or flew.. except for a couple of napi, synapis.. We found a female and a male swallowtail-they were sitting not far from each other, probably just hatched.. And 1 staff magnificent under the stone was..

By the way, it would be a good idea to subdivide your Leptidea: Nearby, in the Vinnytsia region of Ukraine, there are both sinapis and reali. It's probably the same thing in Moldova.

11.04.2007 20:02, RippeR

certainly.. Judging by the 2 black veins after the spot on the upper wings (if we consider this a good stable sign), then we have reali flying a lot..
I even tried to dismember a couple a couple of days ago, but all that came out was the disfigured belly of the poor things..

Just a ripper takes a big hatchet and eviscerates big animals, but at least a surgeon is needed to eviscerate the small genitals of small leptidae.. I didn't make weep.gifit

You need someone to show you how to do it or practice other sports, for example.

Ripper, you have everything in your hands! Go to a medical school, to become a neurosurgeon. After that, you will make the best genital preparations in Moldova at least. smile.gif

Yesterday I tried to catch the light. DRV-500 on the balcony of the 9th floor, screen, everything is as it should be. The balcony opens directly to the park(different hardwoods).
Down on the street-the usual lights, but mine shines much steeper (I would personally flysmile.gif). +13, quiet, overcast.
The result: a dozen small yellowish scoops, all of the same species. 2 pieces are bigger and darker, but we couldn't catch them, they flew away. A bunch of golden eyes, which in my opinion and in the cold on the light will fly smile.gif
And everything. Not a single bug. Not a single one! Not even a single mosquito.
In general, apparently still early, almost no summer frown.gif

As a doctor, it's not a neurosurgeon who dissects genitals. umnik.gif
But in med. it makes sense to go.

It was yesterday, and it was in the Goyans.
The day was clear.
Polixenki flew out, there was just a sea of Boloria dia, there were leptidae, daplidica, zorki, napi, rapi, podalirii, malve, tages and karkarodus alce, as well as celastrinci. I was driving in the hope of finding chloridica, duponheli, but I didn't see anything like it.. Probably in this place they have already died (there are too many cattle and garbage due to the proximity to the village frown.gif), and butterflies are too rare for us.
From the beetles, I found an interesting weevil, similar to brachycerus, but with a knee-length mustache. I found a huge female dorcadion fulvum - as much as 22 mm! There are also a lot of small ground beetles, a couple of dead eaters, small staphylinids, and a bunch of other small things. From the interesting - ground beetle Elaphrus. I don't know the name of the species - they were so green, they ran along the river bank.

Ripper: It's not the same anymore. We are waiting for the next masterpiece.

On April 17, we went with a colleague to the mnemosyne habitat.
I really wanted to take a picture of the caterpillars. Sea of flowering crested flowers. We know for sure that in three weeks mnemosyne will fly out here. Well, we think-right now we'll quickly find the gnawed plants, dig into the litter and find a bunch of caterpillars. But alas-no traces. Can someone tell me exactly how long the stage of fattening and pupation lasts???

not Myniops carinatus?

19.04.2007 14:08, RippeR

No, not him.. This one looks more like the black-bodied Opatrum sabulosum, which is what my friend thought when he saw it..

19.04.2007 14:13, omar

Ripper, let's get the weevil blackbody over here!" Together we will be surprised and happy for you!

as they say - well-coordinated smile.gif
I looked at the weevils "live", in the collection, and not from the pictures through Google, and it turned out that it was still a miniops carinatus smile.gif
Please tell someone what kind of species, what is interesting, rare or all that smile.gif

Today I returned from a 2-day business trip to the Crimea. The weather, of course, is the last thing that pleased me there. It's sunny in the morning, and it's already pouring rain in the afternoon, and even if you crack.
I was lucky to visit Feodosia once again, but because of the cold wind that continued throughout the day, I didn't see anything.
On the second day I went to the west of the Crimea, to the village of Orlovka, which is near Sevastopol. The sun was shining in the first half of the day and I was lucky to find time and spend half an hour doing my favorite thing, catching butterflies. I chose a pleasant slope with flowering grasses in the direction of Orlovka, parked my car and hurried to catch up before the sun disappeared behind the approaching thunderclouds.
So to the point. A cloud of whiteflies was flying on the slope, from which I picked up a small number of cabbage leaves, cute rutabagas and turnips, and also some kind of yolk flew, but I was never lucky enough to sing it. There were a lot of bees and huge bumblebees, one of which I immediately warmed up in the jar. Well, the culmination of all this was the capture of absolutely awesome, from the still cold wind, Podaliri, who did not even resist when I caught him. Here are the cases. I was not very happy with Crimea during these days frown.gif
I will definitely post a photo when I spread it out.
I hope for the next time, and I will go to the Crimea at the end of May, I still managed to catch both boyareshnits and polixen and maybe something else interesting. Thank you for reading my outpouring. cool.gif

Here I got out today in a clearing near the city.. I wanted to find Polixenes, or at least Alexis. In the end, I didn't find any of them. Of the butterflies, there are only banals-malve, tages, argiolus, 2 swallowtails, 3 karkarodus alts. Well, closer to leaving, I caught the newly hatched egeria.
Of the beetles, I found tolkyo who just died a karabus (something like campestris), a dead eater and a caloed, already in the city on the road I found dorcadion holoseritseum..

I called a friend who is now in another place - so he found a dozen polyxenes, 4 kalofris ruby.

Today, my next trip to the place, Kapriany, was successfully completed.
It all started quite well-sunny, almost windless, not far from the beginning of the path caught an interesting, elongated bee beetle, and maybe something else..
Then we caught some interesting riders and moved on. Kakalada had a lot of lunar copres, it was just teeming with them, some of them had dozens of them, or maybe more (I didn't count). Then Shastik caught potocia eruginosa, a good specimen! There were no more Aruginos to be seen frown.gif
After walking around different places, we came to the clearing site. Under the logs there were a lot of small zhuzhals, dead-eaters. Climbing higher, I found one Anagliptus, a large, black one. Then we went for a walk, see what's where. On large white flowers on the bushes sat aurats, though not much, but there was also something interesting-something like Hoplia parvula, but brown in color, with a golden-brownish coating, shiny, with 2 brown krugleshkami at the end of the elytra (formed by the lack of spraying..). I decided to get out a sheet and try out the dusting method - very successfully! The first thing I came across - pogonocherus hispidus! Then a lot of curculio, small weevils, some trubkoverts, leaf eaters, platycerus, dead eater 4-point, antaxia, etc., etc. fell down.
While I was walking around this clearing, I saw a flying black beetle and caught it with a sheet, and it turned out to be Callimus angulatus.
Of the butterflies, there was little interesting - there was 1 poderty podalirium, a little celastrin, parargium egeria.
I wanted to find some interesting dorcas, but I didn't meet a drop of these animalsfrown.gif, but I found a lot of other interesting things smile.gif
Special thanks to all the molbiolovtsam, with the help of which I learned that you can shake off during the day, who where and when smile.gif

30.04.07. Sarato-Meresheny, 16 degrees Celsius, wind, partly cloudy..
we found 1 dorkash fulvum, there were a few kravchegs, a few ocipus and small zhuzhals.
Butterflies flew: arachnia levana, Neptis sappho, 1 colias chiala, 1 erata (male), 3 glaucopsiha alexis, 1 everes argiades (beautiful female - a lot of blue), 1 everes decoloratus (male), many hamearis lucinus, many tages, little zorek, a little boloria dia
In the forest there were many geotrups sterkorosus, and also (which I saw for the first time in such numbers, although I thought it would be good to catch 10) - geotrupes vernalis! I caught a lot of people who need to exchange - let me know right away - I'll put it off for you, otherwise I'll exchange everything and then it won't happen..

03.05.2007 19:02, RippeR

today from Rasen.
It sucked.. mostly one small thing - among them Acrocinus longimanus, Glenea sp, Dynastes gideon, etc. smile.gif
In general, all the usual butterflies: more interesting - sappho, Hamearis lucina, caught 5 females Zorek, a couple of them zhirnenkie such..
In that place last year there were a lot of dorcadions: a lot of tauricum, a lot of cinerariums, enough fulvums, and in the 3rd semester smile.gifI immediately found 1 fulvum, about 7 taurs, and others were not visible.. A strange year, though.. I also rummaged through a bunch of you-know-what, but I didn't find any traces of geotrups frown.gif
But on the logs I filled up 1 callimus angulatus and 2 pyrrhidiums, then I found another 1 on the tree. Interestingly, I found 1 Cerambix scopoli on flowers, which, I think, is very early for him.. Although.. it's already May. There are 2 phytoecia pustulata on the plants.
I checked the traps - there was 1 carabus (I didn't understand who it was yet, but something like excelens or kmpestris (I noticed small holes)), 1 black nikroforus (which is like Germanicus, only small) and Laemostenus (Pristonychus) terricola (I wonder if it's rare, and even interesting?)
Well, I don't even want to mention the Bubas bison nonsense frown.gif
I put more traps for barbels - I wanted to put 4, the azt mixture was only enough for 3, and there was only enough time for 2.. As always wink.gif

on light, night 4-5, Serata-Meresheny:
Biston betularius - 1 piece
something gray like Boarmia repandata-1 piece (smaller type)
Calliteara pudibunda - ~8-10
Neognopharmia stevenaria-looks like it.. 1 large piece
of Selenia lunularia - in my opinion it is, 1 large piece
of Ligdia adustata-hike on that.. a couple or maybe her.. Lyncometra ocellata (although rather 1 option)
in my opinion a couple of Ochropleura plecta
still some couple of types of shovels..
Pheosia tremula or Pheosia dictaeoides - 1 piece
Pygaera curtula - 1 piece
Notodonta ziczac - 1 piece
Cilix glaucata - 2 pieces

there were also interesting pyadenichki pure light gray color, without anything else, small.. Well, and some other nasty stuff, it's a pity that I don't understand all this frown.gif
By the way, the melolonts flew to the light and even 1 female copra deigned to appear!
Not much, yes..

And then suddenly accordion on the background of zhuchatnegov. I was walking my dog in the park this morning and found a new genus of sirphids for the south-east of Ukraine (Callicera)on the bark of a field maple. Absolutely by accident. It was cool. Ow, dipterologists!!!

And define it before the view? It seems that only 3 species are possible in Ukraine -C. rufa, C. spinolae and C. aenea.

cute flies
In my opinion, I have seen similar ones here, but I will not say, since I do not understand

12.05.2007 21:36, RippeR

Today was a good day for fishing.. Now only a piece of the catch (no time), and then I'll finish it.
In general, I caught a lot of 3 types of hoplias. 1-philanthus (approx. 12 pieces) 2-the hoplia that I caught in Caprians (like phyllanthus, only with greenish dustings (there are 2 spots behind the elytra where there is no dusting)) (3 pcs) and 3-trivialis (4 pieces).
So I wanted to know specifically about trivialis. Is it a rare species, and how rare is it???? Just try to find out how much to keep for yourself smile.gif
Hoplias flew near flowers (1 strange, 3 phyllanthus and 1 trivialis) and near hawthorn, the rest of the piles were at one strange tree with white flowers, there were hundreds of them, only my net did not allow me to get so high.. I had to jump a lot, throw sticks, wait for someone to fly lower.. Still, I coped with the task, how much came out.. Maybe I'll catch some tomorrow, too smile.gif)
Coming soon fotki

12.05.2007 23:56, RippeR

a little continuation:
On a hill, a lemur accidentally caught an onthophagus.. Also very interesting is it rare or completely ordinary?
On the magic tree, I took 1 potosia fieberi, 1 cerambyx scopoli, 1 anagliptus mysticus..
On hawthorns: a little Lepturus rufipes, 1 callimus angulatus.
In the forest, I caught an unknown bug that looks like a pollen eater only with a long mustache, which has a structure like a nutcracker (ladder or whatever you want to call it)
Found the remains of 1 aruginosa frown.gif
Caught the light. A few tufts flew in, condition B 666.. frown.gif 1 Saturnia Piri, a handsome male. The rest is basically nonsense..
Caught a couple of semiarguses this afternoon.. The rest is not worth paying attention to..

I left today for the Dnieper. The weather is still mild. The males of polyxena who had flown out were stiff in the grass and did not want to take off. The first Anthocharis cardamines, Carterocephalus palaemon, and Callophris rubi appeared. In general, we are waiting for heat...
