This time, Arthur was carrying a new, heavier bag (the rubber boat still takes up a decent amount of space).
And I have the same bag. smile.gif It is convenient to go from one city to another with her, transporting things...

Although it wasn't very warm today, I won't be able to get out into nature in the next 4 days.

Therefore, on 26.10.2013 I made a trip to the Kamenka River - the lower part of Shilova Gulch, flooded by seeping waters from the Kakhovsky reservoir.
There was plenty here in the spring!!! Grasshoppers, sage, mulleins, and other plants. Lots of butterflies... It was interesting to see what happened now.

In general, it didn't even smell like abundance right now. However, it was nice to meet a couple of these butterflies:
picture: IMG_5264.JPG
picture: IMG_5302.JPG
They are similar to Colotois pennaria, but their size, as for me, is too small for it.
The butterflies were so sluggish that they could barely hold on to the branches and fell when I moved them to more convenient places for shooting.

There was something to eat:

I have my own. But they are not so beautiful. Although we worked hard for all this for six hours, so this is the maximum. Of my new and certain ones, I can add a glamorous apionchika Apion miniatum, Cis rugulosus, Triplax scutellaris. The green leaf beetle that Sleigh has on her mattress looks like horseradish, but it's not the horseradish leaf beetle Phaedon cochleariae, it doesn't look like it. By the way, apions are also fucked up. There is still some curious indefinite trifle, but that's all tomorrow.
Sasha has a bug on the mattress in the upper right corner with its antennae sticking up just like Nosodomodes diabolicus from the zoferids. In our last race, there were a lot of them, this time there are also several pieces. gotcha. And in the same corner, isn't it Scaphium immaculatum? We also found a mushroom with a dozen Neomidia haemorrhoidalis, but all with noticeable yellow tips of elytra. Just under-painted? Those caught last time were all without these spots.
And of course, the highlight of the issue is the intracatus. I couldn't believe my eyes when Sasha showed me the first one. There was a hope that this is not the last surprise.
We had a good ride. The main thing is a strange feeling-after all, the end of October, and in the forest like the middle of April. Deja vu on the contrary. Heat, sunshine, flies... You walk and automatically stare at the trunks of beeches, and there are only bedbugs soldiers. And those parasites are almost all hidden.
It's winter frown.gif, and the mood is spring smile.gif.

Colotois pennaria is: only females (in the species, sexual dimorphism is quite strongly developed).

26.10.2013 UKRAINE, Kharkov reg., 1 km E from Russkaya lozovaya

October 26, Russkaya Lozovaya village (north of Kharkiv). It so happened that almost the whole day was spent working (pruning trees). Under the bark of an apple tree, a buzzing bird came across in passing...
picture: CRW_8153.jpg
It was late afternoon when the sun was setting before reaching the forest. While there was still something to see, a moth and a bug larva were caught...
picture: CRW_8156.jpg
picture: CRW_8162.jpg

When the beetles were no longer visible, the process smoothly turned into "night sowing"... smile.gif
CRW_0627.jpg

For some reason, Arthur somehow got into this business this time, literally snatched the sieve out of my hands... Although, judging by previous trips to the "Dacha" forest, I was very indifferent to this, I literally whined endlessly "let's sow" - it's not in any way...
CRW_0628.jpg
CRW_0629.jpg
CRW_0630.jpg
CRW_0631.jpg

CRW_0632.jpg

We sowed about five liters. At first, there was an idea to divide it into two, " in a brotherly way.".. But then, when they came back, I gave my share to Arthur. I'll have less trouble, and he'll have something to do for an evening or two...

When we returned , a lot of butterflies were flying through the forest (you can see in the picture), probably those moths, one of which I took, but most likely something else...

Good afternoon, dear forumchane.
I decided yesterday (27.10.2013) to take a breath of fresh air with my family and walk around the local Goloseevsky Park. "Inhaled" some butterflies smile.gif
It turned out to catch a female Ptilophora plumigera in the amount of 3 pieces and 2 more males
were also caught: a female Colotois pennaria (1 piece) and a male Erannis defoliaria f. obscurata (1 piece)
There were also some beetles (three types), one type was filmed.
And all this without straining and walking along the paths smile.gif

We will definitely make a photography. Although it is unlikely to be a masterpiece. But I looked again , and it was definitely him. Of this genus, I found two more, N. tuberculatus and tauricus. but this is clearly not the case. Can you tell me if there are any similar views?
PS I myself did not see Sasha's beetle, although he talked about it, but as a "cool weevil". This is when we were already walking back, I did not look. But even so, sideways and finely shot, it's still him.

very likely, I didn't really check it out.

And on 26.10.2013 I went to a pine forest, the weather is terrible compared to Sunday, fog, heavy dew, my feet got wet after a couple of steps, I didn't see the sun. Under the bark of the mass of granulatus, red-legged: black-legged ~9: 1.

Precisely! And at the top of the photo, closer to the right corner, an even more fun option is four yellow spots, and a black dot in each front one. I've never seen one like it. Yes, as much as possible... We didn't take any boats or other extreme equipment today. They didn't climb the swamps either... The weather was also wonderful, sunny, probably up to +20.
Well, except that they climbed to the experimental site to Skrylnik, where he puts his experiments on bark beetles there... But he let it slip (I called him in the morning), said that he had hundreds of Aradus cinnamomeus in his hunting belts there. We found belts, but we only saw a couple of podkorniks, maybe he still has belts somewhere... Of course, Arthur did not stop there and stole three Cucujus cinnaberinus from him in the old pines on the skrylnik territory... and even about a hundred of some Cossoninae...
Then we went to an alder tree, where we stayed for the rest of the day. I took pictures of beetles and beetles from the last dropout - Artkr picked up something there. And he was engaged in seeding. Looks like I'm getting into it... He sowed two bags - for himself and for me. Several times like "tired", asked me to change it... I pointed at the camera - let's switch, they say, otherwise I'll have to take home the unfinished cool beetles... Seeing my crooked posture, I still went to sow again.
So if anything happens, it will be later, when Skrylnik finds out about Cucujus... True, I was not involved in this, I only photographed... well, except that I showed Arthur where to look...

PS. I'm still processing photos, but of course there will be a photo report...
