Also defoliaria?

Not Agriopis budashkini Kostjuk, 2009?

Maybe so. But I'm not sure that these two types can be distinguished from the photo.

We are not talking about this, I give Sergey the search directions smile.gif, and point out that everything is not so simple here, there may be a surprise smile.gif. The southernmost point for Agriopis aurantiaria is the north of the Odessa region, and there is a forest-steppe.

Did Kostyuk have any butterflies of this type? did he see them? cooked it?
I do not insist on anything, I do not know both of these typesshuffle.gif, I just focus on them smile.gif
they are almost doppelgangers, and require close attention.

Maxim, see your email address.

Andrey, nothing came anywhere

18.10.2013 17:17, Сергей-Д

My copies and Severov's - Kostyuk saw their photos; I didn't consider the possibility of meeting A. Budashkini at all, so I didn't send them to him for cooking. And in Ukraine they were found in addition to the Crimea? In addition, my previous specimens look more like a typical aurantiaria than an ex. which I photographed earlier this year. Copies of Konovalov-Kostyuk has a box, I don't know if I cooked it or not.
I will look closely at atypical ones )

18.10.2013 17:47, Alexandr Zhakov

As far as I know, the species is now known from a number of other countries, but Crimea is still the northernmost point. In the Zaporozhye region, there is not one of these species (not yet foundsmile.gif ) From the Kherson region. I don't have any information about Mykolaiv and Donetsk regions yet either. smile.gif

Andrey, so you recruited cucujus for exchange, in the dying birch plantations near Chisinau???

According to numerous requests from workers, today I checked these very plantings for kukuzhest. Unfortunately, there are no beetles. Got the only disabled person without two legs, did not take. But a bunch of other animals, and it seems there are very cool. But the desk lamp is completely broken, I can't determine yet. Tomorrow, if the elements do not interfere with us, we will go with Sasha Kiselyov on a new long hike. I will publish the trophies immediately in two days. Weather forecasters, enemies of nations, declared Zholty Kot in Danger. Our service is both dangerous and difficult...
And as for the kukuzhus, they will show up in the spring, they have nowhere to go. smile.gif

From personal experience, I came across a mustache of gebler, not typical for our places,I personally went 86 km, just to catch it, with no free time, and as a result there is a series-6 pcs, they are notches-a group of living creatures that is not subject to logic and our capabilities, in my case, they finished blooming red elderberry, and there are no rare animals without it,and if you run into someone's departure somewhere on the road, and you start glumitstso-these are the sea, like mud-maybe you will never see them again in your life.IMHO-if there is -you need to take all, or almost all, and share it with your collector brother...

Whatever the weather, I'll take a thermos flask and a raincoat. Ah yes, to shred the forest to dust!

Nothing came of it, the forest was not damaged. Last Saturday, Sanya was called to work and had to go alone. A long-distance joint trip was planned, but it was limited to the near edge of the code zone near the village of Malkoch. The forest is just outside the village, but what a forest it is! Handsome guy. Just shoot a movie-clean, bright, all in bright colors. Just Boldin autumn. And all because the inhabitants of the surrounding villages take out of it everything that can be put in the stove in winter. I watched them do it: throw a rope with a weight on a dry branch, and the whole family hangs from it. Then a crash, a short scream, and everyone scattered. Then the young people drag the trophy to the road, where they wait for karutsa, and the eldest sits down for a smoke. Many years, or even centuries, of such sterilization turned the forest into a decoration. Of course, there are beetles, but I found only two interesting ones for myself, in the moss on the trunk of a large oak tree. This is a couple of females of some Ptinus, possibly rufipes, and quite densely leaf-eating-Hydrothassa marginella. I took about ten of these, maybe someone will need them.
A trip on Friday for cucumbers (never found) still brought something. Under the bark of a birch tree, at the very base of the trunk, another Larinus latus was found, the second from last early spring. Just under the bark and about twenty meters from the first. Clearly going to spend the winter. I've only met him once in the summer.
In a rotten birch, a cluster of interesting Diaclina testudinea was found - in some beetles, light spots on the top and shoulders of the elytra were joined along the lateral edges by a wide border. The dark part of the elytra left a small dark spot in the center. Maybe it's something else altogether? The most interesting subcortical find is Diaclina fagi (Panzer, 1799) in a single specimen. This one is caught for the first time! There was also an obscure beetle, something like a very small (5 mm) Grynocharis oblonga, but covered with sparse light hairs, small light spots on the shoulder tubercles and the very ends of the elytra.
Two new Amara were also caught - Amara eurynota was sitting in a special hole in the pine litter, and Amara ingenua was running on a path in a vacant lot. Both are quite large (9,5 and 10,5 mm), and at first I thought they were one species. Only at home I saw that they were different. And I'm just glad!

On the eve of the end of the 2013 season and with the forecast of several warm days in the Crimea, we took a small expedition to the Crimea on the initiative of Vadim "Shustov". With a very small and specific goal for three species: "forest" Polymixis rufocincta and "steppe" Polymixis flavicincta, and at the same time with it the moth Ithysia pravata, known from one place in the Crimea. The departure scheduled for Sunday did not take place, we left only in the middle of Monday afternoon, and as always, we did not have time to find a place for light in the light, already in the dark we went to a well-known place on the outskirts of Sudak. The screen was put up at night, an hour and a half after sunset, with a faint hope of catching the cypress Lithophane Lithophane lapidea. A rather cool evening with a moderate wind and a huge moon did not bode well, very rarely did single scoops and moth fly, which blew away completely. The arrival was enlivened by the unusual Aporophyla nigra and Aporophyla canescens.
Aporophyla_canescens_4295.jpg
But somehow it gradually began to warm up or we began to warm up flying butterflies, the first release of adrenaline was the arrival of Lithophane lapidea,
Lithophane_lapidea_4238.jpg
at one o'clock in the morning, Episema korsakovi arrived.
Episema_korsakovi_4245.jpg
Butterflies arriving at long intervals kept us near the screen for 10 hours, until 6 in the morning. But the morning was greeted with warmth, sun and beautiful panoramas of Sudak, Sudak fortress, Cape Meganom and mountains.

When searching for Ithysia pravata, not much was found, one of the few being Bolivaria brachyptera. The legendary moth itself could not be seen.

The evening air gave Polymixis flavicincta, the first half hour was a blizzard of butterflies, did not have time to watch what and where, with a drop in temperature, the butterflies calmed down and arrived with short breaks.

The morning was met with a very strong wind, and low temperatures, gathering at high speed, we went to look for a warm and quiet place. On the way, we received a small gift that made up for the Ithysia pravata that was not caught.
The search for the place lasted all day and ended almost in the very south of the Crimea in the Chernorechensk canyon. Here, the explosion of butterflies lasted 15 minutes, during which a lot of interesting things flew in, but dozens of bats pinned all the butterflies to the ground, and several pieces that rose more than 1-1. 5 m attacked at once. Again pleased with Lithophane lapidea,

Good day dear forumchane. Moldova is also not far behind you, and the warm days once again gave us the opportunity to get out of the concrete maze, to the abode of the creator mother. This time we ( evilforester and Chegar) decided not to wander far and went to the outskirts of the village of Kondritsa. The morning fog was making things worse, but before we arrived, the sun dispelled all our worries, along with the fog itself. The day was warm and sunny. As for me, the catch is just wonderful, most of all I was pleased with the most beautiful Carabus intracatus, which everyone knew about, but no one in our area has bothered to catch since 1974 (if anyone has more reliable information, I would be grateful)
So let's get started)
