And Ruby at least on what on hawthorn or barabaris, he generally flew, or you trotted bushes.
I was in Rezeny the day before yesterday. Taurikumy, (one naked but I think so ka is prishovnaya stripe black vsetaki, too, taurikum) pchelozhuk one, zorek 3 males and even svyatkogo caught. Then I'll describe it in more detail.

Ruby flies in open glades, alighting on the leaves of trees and shrubs. You can shake the bushes, but it's basically useless, because I shook a lot of bushes, but they only sit on a select few, so for example, a sniper along one clearing shook all the bushes, and they only sat on one.. But if you notice how one flies and lands on a bush, then you can find others.

Naked with suture stripe-cinerarium.

I absolutely agree. From what I've seen,Ruby doesn't hang around the food plant.Or rather, not hanging out on it.Undoubtedly, he likes company, but on any tree and shrub.I can't say anything about conifers, because there were no such trees nearby.I can add that it is a terrible territory, but the controlled territory is not large(it can be limited to a branch).Very adaptive when approaching not only a relative, but also another butterfly.

Hm.. In the Crimea, Ruby is one of the most popular spring pigeons. It was not noticed in particular locality. Butterflies massively feed on the flowers of hawthorn and various herbaceous plants-veronica, ashberry. By the way, she has more than a dozen feeders - I'm with kopeechna krymskogo output.

Yesterday I sent a message, but the forum worked nonsense, so it turned out accordingly smile.gif
Rezeny-hike of a week ago
The hike started with the fact that I found out a new fare in a minibus, this time for some reason I took exactly the right amount, I had to return home, fortunately, it's not far away, but still an hour was lost. It was a nice day, but with variable cloud cover, so the sun came and went. I went to Rezeny to check the traps, if in Ivanche I even installed them in the forest, then in Rezeny I was drawn to the clearings, which are overgrown with the action very well. I just couldn't get to some of the traps, and some of them were poached out of the ground, probably by poaching hedgehogs. In general, out of 27 pieces, I found 10 pieces. I was particularly surprised by one trap, there were 31 Carabus convexus in it ... oh, so many excels. It must have been their birthday. That's all the trap news, there were a lot of ticks on the forest paths, fortunately I didn't find them on myself either before or after the trip, I cleaned the road with a net - mowing. Now about the catch:
Rhopalocera:
Pyrgus malvae – 4 specimens
Anthocharis cardamines-3 ♀, there were a lot of males, but I took only 2
Carcharodus alceae-1 specimen. Then it will be necessary to straighten and more accurately say maybe lavater, but so looked, like Alceus.
Pontia daplidicaea – 1 specimen.

Coleoptera:
Lethrus apterus-14
Blaps sp. – 5
Chrysolina sanguinolenta - 1 specimen
Chrysolina sturmi – 2 copies.
Galeruca rufa – 4 copies
Dorcadion-24 copies In my opinion, all tauricums S730 6396. In addition to 2 copies of S730 6394, although there is a black stitched velvet strip. But in my opinion this is cinerarium, there are no side shoulder stripes. Another question on the S730 6397 troika – too large and the shoulder strip ends up on the side-maybe it's a pussilum. And the second example in the S730 6398 four is especially interesting – maybe it's a pussilum after all. I would certainly like to have more views, but..... Other than S730 6394, here I'm pretty sure it can't be tauricum. Dorkadionov here only lay out, and the rest is all in the definition (in the appropriate sections), so as not to clog up much.
Meloe sp. - 11
Anteater is interesting, ground beetles are different, beetles are interesting, especially one shield beetle and weevils (also in the definition).
That's probably all.

and beautiful wasps.

As far as I understand from your photos, what you took for wasps (photo S7306325) are actually single bees of the genus Nomada smile.gif. Really beautiful.

Caprians the day before yesterday.
We went with Shastik, the weather did not bode well. Yesterday it was raining, but still the observation of nature, namely the starry sky, did not deceive. Although both our TV and Belarus TV broadcast rain, they usually give a more accurate forecast. But it wasn't raining. There was fog in the morning, and the sky was clear, which later won the victory, the sun came out smile.gif. The campaign turned out to be normal on the ten-point system, on a strong seven, but no more. We went for hoplii, I also wanted to catch some new type of barbel for the collection, but neither one nor the other came out. After the rain on the forest trails was mess, taught by bitter experience, I went in boots and did not lose at all, because there was a lot of dew on the grass, and just walking in the mud was more fun, in appropriate shoes tongue.gif. In the forest under the bark found Dorcus paralellolipipedus 1 specimen. There was nothing else useful in the forest, except to gather two barbel pupae under the bark of an elm tree, if they come out, it will be fine. I looked for morimuses on old, as well as dried-up oaks, on stumps – but alas. From the forest, we smoothly moved to the localization of lilies, the bushes on which they flew bloomed in full, I would even say they began to fade a little bit. In general, it is strange, last year they flew somewhere at this time, and on May 15 the shrub had already faded, and there were no lilies. Perhaps last year's drought affected, and the beetles decided to fly out earlier, or maybe because of the rains they will fly out later, but we don't know if there will be flowers, and I, most likely, unfortunately, will not be able to be there. Here Shastik left me, his friends called him, and his feet were all wet, leaving me to wander alone. I beat about the bush for a long time, mowing down herdsman's bag and other grass, returning now and then to the bushes in the hope of finding hoplias, but apart from Potosia cuprea, Cetonia aurata, Valgus hemipterus and small goldenrods, no one was found frown.gif. I collected all the kupreys, hoping that at least one of them would turn out to be kuprina, but out of 27 tested copies, all of them turned out frown.gifto be metal . After that, I wandered further into the forest, looking for morimuses, came across an abandoned sanatorium, an interesting sight eek.gif. I also caught one crunch, similar to Melolontha melolontha jump.gif, but it's definitely a different species, I just don't remember (or rather don't know) what it's called, this is probably the most interesting find.

Of the leaf beetles
, Cryptocephalus bipunctatus was found – 1 specimen.
Cryptocephalus chrysopus - 1 specimen.
And although the usual one, but I didn't notice Galerucella luteola in the collections
, I caught various weevils, but I haven't reached this group yet, so I put the most interesting thing in the definition.
From barbels:
I came across a clearing where there were logs from an oak tree, as well as quite a few stumps. I had a lot of hopes for this place, but almost in vain rolleyes.gif. However, in the end I was lucky on Pyrrhidium sanguineum-I collected 11 pieces (if suddenly someone needs them, I can postpone them, write in PM), and on the way back I found Rhagium sycophanta-1. In the clearing, crows watched my actions in the sky, constantly flying around the clearing, making kraa – kraa sounds (they probably had a nest there). The place looked untouched (except for a clearing), there was no one around, and Codras stretched out over the horizon. They beckoned me into the distance, but, unfortunately, I had to go back. At the end of the route on GPS natikalo 8.87 km with an average speed of 3.5 (2.5 hours on the road and 4h Parking, generally in the campaign you stand idle most of the time, picking at different stumps and in the net after mowing) I was dead, because I was rushing back home, and the terrain was very rough and hilly. Somehow I got to the minibus and went back to Chisinau. THE END.

26/04/08 Arrived in Simferopol, took a ticket back to Feodosia. I got to the train station and took a minibus. 2 hours in the minibus did not seem tedious - the beauty of nature, mountains, steppes and forests, everything around blooms and turns green - it was very pleasant to watch the landscape outside the window. There was a strange feeling - half calm, half unusual joy, " Here, I'm already here, what a class, how beautiful. Just a little more and I'll be home, just a little more and I'll walk on my own feet in these beautiful places!".
Here is Feodosia. I'm looking for the right route-they said - there, around the bend. I sat down and drove. They told me where I asked, and I found out from my grandmothers where the house I needed was located. Everything is great, another 5 minutes and I will meet Vova (Okoy). I found a house, go up, ring the doorbell and here it is Vova! I'm just so happy to meet you!!!!!!
We chatted, drank tea, looked outside and decided that there was no point in staying at home - and went to the field. And here is the first find - Meloe variegatus, which I was very happy about. A little further away and Phleas, and then Ausonia! Caught 3 things and flew further, poperevorachali stones-found interesting bombers and all sorts of interesting beetles. We walked around the fields for a long time, found all sorts of interesting things - for example, chlenius and an interesting beetle in one of the last photossmile.gif, 3 cicada larvae were found under kamen - maybe mountain, or maybe some other ones.. In general, the day was not in vain! We went back to the house and looked at the caterpillars and pupae and butterflies and stuff.
It was already dark and I went to get settled in. Found the right house, decomposed. I was told that another person had arrived, but he was already asleep (it turned out to be Seryozha (DAMON)). The next morning we met smile.gif
In the morning, the Poles - Jarek, Chris and Roman-also arrived.
The weather was bad, it was raining and Seryozha and I decided to move to Vova, we arrived, chatted, at this time the rain stopped and we decided to go to the field in order to find Cleta perpussilaria, 1 copy of which we managed to catch the previous day. But we were not lucky - no clets, no ausonias, but we found a few caterpillars.
By evening it was already better - the Sun was peeking out.

The next day, the Poles and Vova decided to go to Ordzhonekidze - there was still 1 free place in the self-propelled car, but so that 1 person would not stay by himself, Seryozha and I decided to move to Bald Mountain. And, apparently, not in vain.
We found many vixen pupae, many caterpillars of coscinia striata, cinxia, Arctia festiva in copula. Then I managed to find a Helladia millefolii that wanted to escape, but I struggled to get it for my collection.
We slowly reached the place where the pigeons flew - first the female Alexis, then Ruby, and then Tomares callimachus-oh, how long I wanted this butterfly for my collection and here it is, caught with my own hands. There were a lot of them and catching them was a pleasure, as it was like hunting, not gathering! My net broke - the hoop flew off the stickfrown.gif, it was difficult to catch, but you can.. In the end, I adapted and caught, caught, caught. I also found an interesting gold leaf Trachys, it is interesting because it has a dark green color of elytra, in contrast to the black species I caught in Moldova. We wanted to catch Duponchel's Leptidea, but this year was clearly not hers, only 1 battered specimen was caught during the entire arrival time.
We returned to the house, and soon the others arrived - from Ordzhenekidze, which I remember, they brought Opatrum tristis, a couple of interesting weevils, black-heifers, a couple of dorkash cinerarium and some other beetles.
In the evening, another student arrived - Arthur (Aurelian). In the evening, we thought about where to go next. At first, we thought about going after Trifiza and Zegris, but then I changed my mind, because I didn't think about the prospect of catching them, and besides, there seems to be nothing to catch there, and this trip was too expensive without a guarantee of any catches. So Srezha and Arthur went on their own, and I joined Vova with the Poles. We went to Kamenskoye, to the quarries, to the steppe. It was not dense, but we managed to collect a lot of black-bodied plants, like one of the species - the infamous Tentyria nomas. Acinopus sp.was also captured. And then a lot of sisyphus, and then Onitis, like damoetas (see photo). Two remains of Copris spainus were also found.
Then we went to the Arabatskaya strelka, to the Arabatskaya fortress, there were ausonias, agestis, blackbirds, on the salt marshes a few interesting bembishek, as well as 1 scarit and two interesting abscesses, similar to meloe uralensis, but clearly from a completely different kind (see photo).
Not much, but I was happy with the ride. It was April 29th.
Unfortunately, the 2nd team of Trifiz and Zegris didn't find frown.gifit, but they did find 5 piri.

30.04. Artur and Seryozha chose Lysaya, Voloshin's grave, and some other places. We decided to move to Shchebetovka, then through the village of Kurban-Kaya and to the Old Crimea.
In the morning we drove to Shchebetovka, where we met Budashkin, who gave us the books of diaries and the scoop of Ukraine. This is also a very pleasant acquaintance!
Then we walked through the fields and into the woods. First, a couple of the first Proterebia afra were caught, then I accidentally managed to catch Pseudophilotes vicrama, but only 1. I met an endemic peony and a couple of species of jatryshnik.
Then we went to the place where the polyxenes flew, and then we met the Ausonian couple. We went out to a beautiful clearing and then I see-a gold leaf sat on a bush and apparently saw me thrown off, I rushed to the bush and began to search the grass - I thought that I would never give up this business and still find this gold leaf! Vova passes by and I ask him to help me find the gold leaf that fell, he comes up, looks and while I'm digging finds it-Capnodis tenebricosa! Just put it in a box, and then an empuz crawls next to it - here are some cool finds! A little further and interesting grebneusye beetles, mottled Adscita, Colias crocea, even further Antaxia, Kratomerus, Agapantia Dali, Oxy-thyrei, 1 Lugubris, aurats, Tersamons, fleas, delicious ash, ruby and then appeared-Libetii celtis! We took pictures of them, caught them, and went into the woods. I saw a small clearing on a fork in the road and decided to go up and look for Crimean beetles. There were no buzzers, but when I went back down I saw them-Helladia ptaetextata!!! I had never seen anything like this before and was simply amazed and very pleased with the find! Oh, my God! I found 5 more pieces, after a good search. Roman was also looking for them nearby, but he couldn't find them - the beetles are small, so it was difficult for him to see Helladium. Time was running out and we moved on. I gave affair with Jimmy holdings pretexted all have to return happy smile.gif
We went into the forest, and then Vova caught me a large black casher weevil, I forgot the genus-see photo. We came to a mountain spring with the purest water, near it there was a fallen poplar tree, under the bark of the stump of which sat ?Lamosthenus (see photo) Nebria ?rufescens was found nearby. There were also 2 large barbel larvae under the bark, which are now trying to develop at my home. Under the bark on the ground, Vova found Gyllenhaal, which I was also very happy about. We went further when the second black weevil was caught. Next, a rattle (Chrysomelidae) was found. Then we walked for a long time, got tired, and sat down to eat. Having gained strength, they realized that there was no time to cross to the Old Crimea, so they decided to cross Kurban-Kai and return to Shchebetovka. Kurban-Kaya turned out to be rocky and not very easy to pass, but what we needed was that smile.gifHere we were at the very top. There were a couple of interesting moths, the first Embia in our life was found under the stone, a couple of interesting small blackbirds, etc. beetles. Jarek found some caterpillars. I found a few, like, ordinary black-heeled ones. After spending some time at the Top, admiring the beauty and having a rest, we made the last dash, went down the mountain and went quietly to Shchebetovka.
It's been a very good day, I think smile.gif
Arthur and Seryozha caught a bunch of Proterebies, like 1 vikramu, various grandmothers, 1 battered duponchel, Seryozha caught a couple of beetles, among them-Dorcadion serikatum, which he gave me, for which I thank him very much smile.gif

Here:
The next day we decided to go to Cape Megan. There were a lot of rubbish-at the bottom of the mountain they were all battered, and on the mountain they were fresh. Sisyphus and a pair of ontophagus were found on the mountain. And then a couple of interesting goldsmiths (see photo). Callimachus was sitting on the scree, I managed to catch a couple of females, interesting because they had rather large red spots on the bottom. Roman caught 1 vixen and vikrama. I saw something brown and big, and I ran after it for a long time, but in the last rush I slipped, but I never caught it - most likely it was a big vixen. I also caught a couple of weevils, and that's all that was interesting. Ah! No, there were also the goslings of satyrs on cereals. Yarek found really big ones, 3 pieces, which, apparently, will soon be okuklyazzo.
I really wanted to catch the baviuses, but my luck didn't turn out there frown.gif
I don't remember where Artur and Seryozha were that day. (

The next day, Team # 1 decided to try their luck with the Zegrys again.
And we went to Cape Chagany, S. Zolotoe.
We started walking, saw all the fresh cow farms and found quite a lot of damoetos.
Let's move on. There is a very beautiful, far-reaching virgin land, but at first we were not very lucky. Roman really wanted to catch hungarik, and finally he got lucky! Judge for yourself how many of them there were!
Then Roman caught 1 bavius, I watched and I was drooling ) I ran to look for more, but in vain.. But scored a bunch of hungarik. More of the beetles are particularly interesting finds nebylo..
We went further and found an amazing beach. There we met 2 women, they told us about the interensy flowers nearby, showed a rare pink mullein.
The beach and the weather were wonderful and Roman and I decided to run to the sea, go for a swim-when else will we have the opportunity to swim in such a wonderful place! The other participants refused to go swimming, but Chris still went into the water to wet his feet.
We went on, climbed a hillock, and sat down to eat and think about what to do next. We found some very large castensis caterpillars. Then they found mottled caterpillars, like pustules. and Yarek again distinguished himself in finding caterpillars-he found some satyrs, but it is not yet clear which ones..
We decided to go back. Let's go, we went down the hill and suddenly a motley bird flies-we were surprised and Vova took a picture of it. Then I caught it. (Later, at home, Vova cooked it and we decided from the genitals that they were most similar to Adscita staticis, which had not been caught for 100 years and was considered extinct.. But this is still, more specifically, will be handled by Efetov, but so far everything speaks for statisis!). Then we went to the thistle bushes, something small bright is flying here, I thought another mottled bird and began to wait until it sits down. But it flew away, and Vova said that it was a pigeon.. I was pleasantly excited, we had not gone even 40 meters when I saw another one, caught it-here it is-Pseudophilotes bavius!!!!!!! While I was putting it in the bag, I saw another one near Vova and me-I shouted - " CATCH IT!!!!!!" And 1 more bavius!!!! Oh, how glad I was!!!!!!!!! We went to catch up with the others, every half meter flying scales, each of which seemed to me another baviussmile.gif)))
We successfully reached the village, my soul was calm - the mission was completed, it was possible to return home satisfied!)

During all the days we caught the light 2 times, but due to the area not very rich in insects, we flew a little, and mostly banals.

In the morning, everyone left, only Seryozha remained, who went to Tepe-Both of them, and I. Vova and I went to buy tickets and chatted. But all good things come to an end frown.gifSo we said goodbye and I went to get ready to go. Quickly throwing everything away, I moved to the bus...

But the most interesting thing was, of course, not in the field, but at customs )
Here I am waiting in Simferopol for the Yalta-Chisinau bus. Happy with the trip, with a 5-year-old peyote in my hand, I'm sitting on a bench, staring at the local beautiessmile.gif. They say, "Your documents, come with us" and all that ) We pass into a small room, the interrogation begins-what are you carrying, whether there is anything forbidden - nakrkotiki, knives, antiquities, etc. But I'm a good liar, so I put a cactus on the table and said I wasn't carrying anything like this, that I was clean before the law, that I didn't have anything, and I told them all sorts of things.. In general, we had a nice chat, we didn't find anything rotten, we only looked at the surface in the backpack, saw a bag of astragalus and graminae for pigeons and satyrs, a book on scoops. Apparently, they worked no-match from this situation and they let me go-moral: develop diplomacy smile.gif
Lafora, placed in a glass, fit on the glass stand on the bus and was there all the time. Ukrainian customs was passed without losses. But the Transnistrian one was ahead.. We were all dumped outside in order to see things through the alfachastizzo-bombardier smile.gifI with Kakuts, with a backpack and a bag of food was standing in the room. Strange, but apparently my appearance did not arouse suspicion ). I passed through customs easily, despite many others who were found fault with a lot. But that's not all, either.
Then I went completely f***I, sorry for the expression, customs - Pridnestrovian-Moldavian. At the entrance, we were issued customs declarations - for the first time!! No examples of how to fill it out, no words on how to do it, nothing - A non-existing country is mushroom picking - it doesn't know how to get more money.. We all filled out the declarations and took them away (how nice it is to lie godlessly - to write in the declaration that you are not carrying anything prohibited - no objects of flora and fauna, no psychotropic substances, no antiques, nothing (by the way, I still had 4 petrified shells with me, which I found in Kamenskoye), although this customs officer saw that I have peyote, and even a scoop of albovenos next to it), drove to the end of customs, the border guard comes in again and checks the passport again.. Well, how much is possible on one border 2 times.. horror. Checked, then says-you, you and you, let's go.. Well, damn it.. One of the three was ya..
We went to the trailer. I went first. Some angry guy comes out and stops, but doesn't get on the bus.. Well, I decided to go next.. I go in, dump everything on the table - he looks and says: "so, you're bringing euros, hryvnias," and so on.. And I had 10 euros and 70 hryvnias. I tell him, like I wrote everything in the declaration. and he says, and where is the declaration - I say, they have already given it away, and he again finds fault, like what did they give away, if customs has not ended yet, like it ends here and not there.. and all that.. Well oborzel. I say, well, you took it yourself, what nonsense, I think "Wouldn't you go ........................................."...... Well, he saluted.. Says get out everything, cigarettes. I say I don't smoke, the customs officer broke it again. smile.gif
In general, there was nothing to find fault with and the bastard let me go, I returned it with a smile.
Only the Moldovan customs office remains - THE MOST MAGNIFICENT CUSTOMS OFFICE in the whole world!!!!!!! We went in, quickly looked at our passports and let them go!!! Here it is, happiness!!!!!!

Satisfied, I returned her home. Home sweet home. Although visiting was Very cool! Many pleasant acquaintances - just happiness! Many THANKS to all the participants for the good company, especially Vova, who showed and told a lot of interesting things. I really learned a lot during this trip - both about plants and insects and about places and about caterpillars and pupae and saw how to cook insects (it remains only to get lye)...
Mega!!!!!! Super Mega!!! Super Giga Mega Archi Ultra!!!!!!!!

Here's a clear cut, so clear cut. I'm going for a record smile.gif

Mdaaa.... Report - so report smile.gif

Two weevils - different Liparus - smaller-similar to coronatus, large I do not know, m. b. dirus. Try the green one - there aren't many of them.

Nebria - isn't it brevicollis?

Abscess-like Mike-M. B. even uralensis. Near Bothynoderes (ex. Chromoderes) affinis.

Chlaenius (Trichochlaenius) aeneocephalus like, but harpalinka near cool some-most likely Carterus some.

Bright green beetles are very nice. I think this is a close genus to Chlenius - Dinodes. m. b. some thread decipiens. A few Gynandromorphus etruscus (multi-colored beetles), and a very funny flattened blackfin - Cossyphus tauricus. Dark with a slight metallic sheen Harpalus-similar to circumpunctatus-you need to look.

Only I'll probably never understand buggers - what's the point of smothering so much of the same thing? Or are they all different?

Thank you all for your feedback! I tried, so I didn't write right away, I saved up my strength to lay out such a pile at once smile.gif

Fornax13:
Nebria brevikollis and thought, out of stupidity not that wrote smile.gif
Abscess is 100% not a T-shirt - all T-shirts have short diverging elytra and no wings.. I think it will not be difficult to determine the genus - I looked so green.. but to be more precise, you need a microscope.

kotbegemot:
there are different beetles, and there are the same ones.. A lot of smothering - for series and sharing. No damage was done to the beetles, as he did not take everything, and even most of it.. (if we talk, for example, about hungariki)

mikee:
In principle, you can say that I didn't catch so much, and I didn't look everywhere I could.. So there's still a lot of work to do! Just go to those places, I think you can still catch a lot. There wasn't as much time as there were places.. We didn't stay long.
And in terms of butterflies, you can say smile.gifthat I caught a little more, except for aphras and callimachus, and there are still so many of them left...............

Yes, and there was only 1 day in the forests, and 1 day where there are few plantings - all the normal time in the steppes, since this was consistent with the interests of the whole group, and I had steppe butterflies for my goals.

Nimrod:
aurata was cute, and in the hope of another subspecies took symbolically 1 piece smile.gif
Miltotrogus could be tauricus? They were bigger there than ours.. Therefore, I also took only 1, so that it would not turn out that I typed a bunch of banal stuff To take smile.gifa picture of some detail for a more accurate definition?

Yes, I looked through the wings. And what, IT also flew?? And the shield is visible?
I don't remember anything like that in green."

In the photo with Helladia praetextata - bronze beetles-Pogonus litoralis, with light ndkr. - also Pogonus, only others + mottled-Acupalpus, most likely elegans. Is it from the salt marsh?

10.11 numbers:
10-razenS .I thought I'd just set up traps ,but it was a bummer - I found some flowering trees ,I don't know their names ,where I spent a lot of time and collected the following species :Cortodera humeralis a lot, 1 Axinopalpis gracilis, 1 Callimus angulatus, 2 Phymatodes rufipes, 1 Grammoptera ustulata, 1 Potosia fieberi, a lot of metallic, aurate, a little cinerarium, a lot of tauricum and only 2 Neodorcadion billineatuM .Bbla still another rubbish .I was especially happy with gracilis, which I had never caught before, and then I accidentally found it on a flower smile.gif.still very happy to find ustulata, which I have long wanted to catch

11-Kozhushna .in principle, everything is the same, with the exception of 2 morimus (+ one more slapal naparneg), another 3-4 grammopter, 3 ex hoplii 2 species, 3 kalosom inquisitor, 1 potosii affinis of a pleasant olive color, 2 anagliputs of black color, several rare narrow wings (Omar knows about com Ismile.gif), anaploder rufipes, Tetrops prausta, sympatric pollen-eater, and sympatric weevil .camels also flew ,there were some nutcrackers and banal weevils
.like everything

!!!and there is also very interesting news - for the first time in the last hundreds of years, Aglia tau was found in Moldova in the amount of 1 piece .I don't know the location yet ,but I hope they'll describe it to me

People, but in connection with this message (and others too) I have two questions:
1. why do May beetles in the Ryazan region reluctantly fly to the DRL, while everyone writes about the mass arrival? In general, it looks like at dusk, my beetles fly strictly in the direction of the forest, completely ignoring the lamp, and individual specimens arrive at the lamp only after complete darkness. I will note that in the Ryazan region I have also repeatedly noticed daytime, moreover, mass flight of May beetles, which I have never observed in other places...
2. I once successfully and massively caught Saturnia pyri in Dagomys and Gelendzhik at the end of June, and here they write that they fly en masse in early May. It turns out that the years are stretched out for almost 2 months? And this is despite the fact that butterflies do not feed...

13.05.2008 13:19, omar

May beetles really fly massively to the light and in the southern districts of the Moscow region, from where Ryazan is only 30 kilometers away...And saturnias are simply displayed stretched out from pupae.

13.05.2008 14:34, svm2

Regarding M. zhukov-it may depend on the temperature-it was +12,2 on Bukryn May in the Polessky reserve it was about +10 - it also flew a lot, 8, 9 was in the Cherkasy region. the temperature at 22 hours is +5-not a single beetle, only two small crunchers, and, in general, almost nothing-a couple of P. capucina, gnoma, D. ruficornis, L. halterata, S. dentaria, T. flavicaria, C. coryli(several)-all in two nights

C. coryli,N. tritophus,P. gnoma,tremula,E. crepuscularia,C. cinctaria,E. indigata,S. tetralunaria,F. lacertinaria,sporadically-S. liturata,A. auricoma,C. anachoreta,S. lunularia,D. falcataria,L. halterata,T. carpinata,worn orthozias and others flew in the Polesky Nature Reserve. Conistra
By day in the swamp lots of rubi and 2 hastata

Regarding pyri-my Ukrainian-males-21.05.74, 13.05.06, females-02.05.89, 20.05.04 and later in May I did not see them

As for the temperature, May beetles are not critical of it. I have them confidently continued to fly and 5 and 3 and 1 degrees above zero. And only when the -1 frost hit after midnight - that's when they stopped flying. smile.gif

They are probably not critical to the temperature drop in the process, when the beetle is already flying : -) But at +5 at dusk, they simply do not want to fly.

I will probably write about a recent three-day trip to the Crimea (for work frown.gif) and a two-hour outing in the Chernihiv region.

It was from April 30 to May 2. We brought sunny and very warm weather to Crimea. We stopped in Simferopol, as it was necessary to visit both Bakhchisarai, Feodosia, and Alushta, which are located in different parts of the Crimea. I made my first trip for a couple of hours on April 30 on the road to Bakhchisarai, turning to the village. Nauchnoye, village. Rocky. The place is really beautiful smile.gif

picture: DSC_0127.JPG picture: DSC_0145.JPG

I collected a good series of Cicindela campestris, which flew and crawled en masse on the road, a series of two types of dorcas, one of them in the photo. Under the cow's afterbirth, a large number of toddlers and all sorts of small things (sorry, no interest, so I didn't take it and didn't take pictures) Didn't like anything else.

picture: DSC_0168.JPG

Quite a large number of such bumblebees smile.gif

picture: DSC_0098.JPG

Among the butterflies, it should be noted that P. napi, rapae, C. hyale, and A. cardamines flew en masse. On the road you could always meet this shashenitsa (pictured)

picture: ______________________________.___________30.04.2008_1.JPG picture: ______________________________.___________30.04.2008_2.JPG

or I. lathonia, In the field of view there was always at least one podalium. Quite a large species composition of fatheads and pigeons, not all fotkal (sorry, they are not strong, so only photos)

picture: ______________________________.___________30.04.2008_3.JPG picture: ______________________________.___________30.04.2008_5.JPG
picture: ______________________________.___________30.04.2008_6.JPG picture: ______________________________.___________30.04.2008_10.JPG

I was lucky enough to catch (as for me - lucky, since I did not have it) Zygaena brizae (pictured).

picture: ______________________________.___________30.04.2008_7.JPG

Well, in the end, when I was already leaving this place, a clean (I assume only from the pupa) female Arctia villica sat down impressively on the grass.

01.05.2008 we stopped for lunch at a roadside restaurant on the way from Simferopol to Bakhchisarai and to my surprise (I just haven't seen this yet) on a tree near the entrance to the restaurant, I found eight males of A. festiva (=hebe) sitting and sleeping jump.gifside by side . I went slowly to the car, filled up the cans, and picked up six wonderful copies. some of them are quite different in the location and color of the stripes on the upper wings (I will definitely post them when they are straightened smile.gif). The secret turned out to be simple, the track in this place is not illuminated, and the tree was decorated with 250 DRL wink.gif

02.05.2008 we were returning to Kiev and even near Simferopol at the gas station I took a clean Stauropus fagi, and at the entrance to Kiev (~ 100 km) at the gas station I took a pair (female and male) Copris lunaris and male Pheosia tremula.
In general, I will admit to you honestly, gas stations at night are a gold mine for an entomologist. Sometimes there are not even simple instances. And portable light traps are not necessary, and they are almost everywhere umnik.gif

04.05.2008 went to Chernihiv region. Srebnyansky district, on the grave of my grandmother, and stopped, on the way back, in my favorite tract Labodernoe. Since the sun was no longer as bright as it was during the day, I was late for the butterflies frown.gif, but I didn't collect the beetles badly. A good series of kravchikov that dozens crawled under their feet, climbed out and climbed into their burrows, males fought among themselves, carried pieces of grass, etc.

picture: DSC_0487.JPG picture: DSC_0504.JPG

Several copies. t-shirts...

picture: DSC_0492.JPG picture: DSC_0523.JPG

And also a good series of three types of dorcash, among them one Dorcadion equestre smile.gif

That's the story. Thank you for your attention cool.gif

indeed.the latter thickhead is similar to Spialia sp. , strange, it seems a little early for them yet

?Isn't it too early for Daphnis

.I was in the Crimea at the same time ,but the cinxia had not yet emerged ,there were only caterpillars in the mass and pupae .the pigeons were Callimachus, ruby, Bavius, and Vikram

Mach: by the way, if it's not difficult, you can put all the pigeons in the photo-it's interesting to see who got out smile.gif

15.05.2008 18:01, RippeR

.yesterday I went to check the traps for barbels in which there was not a single barbel, and in general there are few beetles .there was nothing on the flowers ,as the flowers were almost faded .but I was lucky with another: I caught about 6 Neodorcadion billineatum ,a very interesting weevil with appendages at the end of the elytra, caught 1 mnemosyne out of 2 seen, saw ,but never caught Pyrgus alveus without a net, although I caught it in a jar ,but it managed to slip out while I was closing it, there were several cinxias, quite fresh, which seems strange and early-I found 1 Ohlodesa silvanus, c dozen, or even more Ptosima flavoguttata, and! most importantly-2 Pilemia hirsutula, which are generally not clear what they were doing in a forest clearing
.I'll post a photo of the weevil later
