Ilya, thank you! How do I get there by public transport?

On an electric train only wink.gif
Towards Karamysh. Bus stop-O. P. 19 km.
We went today, very successfully fished, there are a lot of things caught-dorcadions, T-shirts and so on. I'll post a report with photos later.

So. I continue my research in the Saratov region. Today we visited an interesting place - Budanov Mountain. Coordinates of the mountain (for Google Maps lovers) - 51°26 '9.35" N 45°47'46.59" E

You can only get to this natural wonder by taking the Saratov-Karamysh electric train.
Start of the journey from the "piece of iron" in the direction of ravines

Picture: Budan_gora_2.jpg
picture: Budan_gora_3.jpg

Gullies of white clay that I initially thought were chalks.
picture: Budan_gora_4.jpg
picture: Budan_gora_5.jpg
picture: Budan_gora_6.jpg
picture: Budan_gora_7.jpg

Only here grows a penny large-flowered (Hedysarum grandiflorum), on which I mowed a dozen cool tithius (the type has not yet been determined, but clearly something is not banal).
picture: Budan_rast_1a.jpg
Budan_rast_1b.jpg

After looking at the ravines, we move towards the mountain itself. Meet the procession of caterpillars (marching silkworm?)
picture: Budan_gora_8.jpg

And also a whole glade of my favorite cardaria draba, there were cool Aulacobaris janthina
picture: Budan_gora_9.jpg

There are many steppe vipers on the road
picture: Budan_gora_10.jpg

and root-eating crusaders
picture: Budan_gora_17.jpg
picture: Budan_gora_18.jpg

Swarming of woodworm ants
picture: Budan_gora_11.jpg

And finally, here it is, a natural wonder, a flat hill-Budanova Gora
picture: Budan_gora_12.jpg
picture: Budan_gora_13.jpg

We climb to the top. The climb wasn't easy ... but the view is gorgeous!
picture: Budan_gora_14.jpg
picture: Budan_gora_15.jpg
picture: Budan_gora_16.jpg

On the slopes of the mountain grows an egg-bearing astragalus, and on it came across its monophagus, a beautiful beetle, for which everything was started - Tychius molestus

I hope you enjoyed my short story. See you soon smile.gif

Oh, I almost forgot, my fees

I am afraid that even if there is a minibus, it will not help - Alexandrovka is very far away there, and it is also separated by another ravine (we call them gullies). There are bushes, snags and vipers down there ...

I continue my purposeful study of the Saratov land. Today I went to the vicinity of the village. Jasmine. Coordinates-51°34 '46.70" N 45°50 '58.95" E
The goal was to find a small salt marsh there. Found. Among the interesting finds are Asproparthenis vexata and Sibinia variata (for the first time in the region), as well as some interesting Stenus (I haven't looked at it yet).

You mean just here? I have a friend of a botanist, he is just engaged in a penny shop, he will collect a lot of points, both in the Right Bank and in the Trans-Volga region, Khvalynsk, Lysogorsky district at least...

We returned with Mikhail from the traditional annual trip to the Astrakhan region. In entomological terms, the trip was almost zero, in the Volgograd region there were no spini or gorgons; for some it was probably too late, for others it was too early. We visited Baskunchak, Dosang, and the lower reaches of Astrakhan. Fishing was more or less good, in Ilovl Mikhail fished fish for an ant, in the lower reaches caught different and in good quantity. On the beetles, too, everything is very poor, in the mass there were only scarabs, water lovers, floaters and crushers; everything is as usual, but unlike previous trips dorkash did not even see. Of the butterflies, I can only mention a massive number of absolutely fresh leghorn (it seemed that they were hatched right next to us), crested aeruginosa and as much as one Hyles zygophili.

07.05.2013г. Vladimir region, Petushinsky district, district, village Old Pools.
Today I took advantage of the good weather and left for several train stops outside the Moscow region. In principle, nothing particularly interesting except for the discovery of the male Meloe (Meloe) violaceus Marsham, 1802 thanks to this discovery, we can say: the trip paid jump.gifoff . Well, I was unlucky on T-shirts up to this point and that's it. And I was also struck by Callophrys rubi (Linnaeus, 1758), which flew out in a completely wild amount. He brushed them off like mosquitoes smile.gif
At least I got some air:

In the hope of finding more T-shirts, I repeated my trip to these parts today.
Bottom line: T-shirts didn't find any, even though he'd been grazing like hell in the heat all day in the same place frown.gif
The usual beetles at this time: Acanthocinus aedilis; Rhagium inquisitor; Rhagium mordax did not take at all because of their obscenity (as always they are full).
Chalcophora mariana has already flown out in a fair amount (I took one for the point).
From the pleasant: I found a pair of Pogonocherus sp. I think on ?Pogonocherus fasciculatus (DeGeer, 1775)? I put it in the "definition"section just in case.
UPD Thanks to Dmitrich (y), my suspicions about the barbel were justified.
This is indeed Pogonocherus fasciculatus (DeGeer, 1775)
A new view for me, however jump.gif
And there are also very beautiful lizards running around: just like" little dragons". smile.gif
Some photos:

Many thanks for the photo of leaf beetles (Entomoscelis adonidis (Pallas, 1771))

Is this something rare? There they were in fucking numbers (literally hundreds, but on a small patch) - and only on cruciferous ones. And judging by the name, they should be on the buttercups... Or is it like Thecla betulae among butterflies, which is indifferent to birch, give it rosaceae?

I've never met anyone in Muscovy (this is from myself). Apparently it depends on the region.

with him, the story is rather murky.... the species is quite rare steppe. I know only 1 location in the Tambov region. Development occurs on adonis (which is quite rare in our country) and cruciferous (according to Medvedev-the one that is used for leaf beetles), but...I've only caught it on Adonis. Benkovsky is also only on adonis and even tried to feed cruciferous plants in the gardens, but was refusedsmile.gif, and your photos confirm Medvedev's words. It would be interesting to see the egg laying at the cruciflower shuffle.gifand there Adonis was in the area?

Where do they lay their eggs? On the underside of the leaves or something?
This, in theory, should be a bunch of orange (well, or another color) eggs?

I'll take it, of course! But not in exchange - I have to deal with the Moscow micros first. You can take a picture of the mattresses - what can be identified from the photo, I will identify - and what requires cooking-cook it yourself or arrange with someone, here with Bolshakov at least or from ZIN with whom =) But I don't need to send it! ))
