KDG:
And tse6rambix-skopoli? Or is it something else?
And who is Karabus? interesting, I don't remember any of them.

Could you tell us about your collection methods? In particular, barbels. and goldsmiths smile.gif

Well, yes, of course, scopoli.. multiplicatus is. There are 4 carabus species, 2 I know (bohemani and talyshensis), 2 I don't.
Methods.. Yes, the same as everyone else. from flowering plants, stumps runks, mowing+violent shaking of bushes, trees, dead wood on a white cloth. Goldfish such as Dicercus and chrysobothris run along the trunks in sunny weather - the rest on flowers (acmaeoderella) and spines (sphaenoptera).

Well, the vacation is over. The plans were, as always, huge, and the reality is much more modest. Since I promised my wife to spend most of my time together this time, I naively expected to combine the fulfillment of this promise with more or less active training camps. But, as they say, we believe, and life disposes… Systematic research failed, all in fits and starts. Well, about everything in order. Before the trip to Gelendzhik, we visited relatives in the Istra district of the Moscow region, where we stayed from June 5 to 11. Around the forest, of course, did not miss the opportunity to once again explore it, picked up the barbels: Saperda scalaris, Cortodera femorata, Leptura aethiops, Lepturalia nigripes. On June 11, we left for Gelendzhik, where we stayed for 10 days. Between family walks along the embankment and the inevitable stay on the beach, I ran to the pine grove (Pitsunda pine, of course), and also explored the foot of the Markhotsky ridge. The results of the collection are as follows: some pollen beetles (two species), leaf beetles (presumably 3-4 species), gold beetles (Anthaxia-2 species, Agrilus-2 species, Coroebus rubi, Capnodis tenebrionis and Capnodis tenebricosa, Paracylindromorphus sp., Chrysobothris affinis), ground beetles (Brachinus crepitans, Ocinopus sp., Ophonus sp., Carabus exaratus), staphylins (Ocypus tenebricosus(?) and Staphylinus stercorarius), barbels (Stenopterus rufus, Stenurella jaegeri, Morimus verecundus, Agapanthia violacea, Rhopalopus sp., Paraplagionotus floralis), Dorcus parallelopipedus, Valgus hemipterus, Pentodon idiota, abscesses - Mylabris, blackbirds Scaphidema-shaped, Henicopus pilosus. There's something else that's a little vague. I was struck by the complete absence of horses in suitable external stations. They returned home via Moscow, and stayed for another day with relatives in the Istra district. Well, I'm back in the woods, of course! The result is Sinodendron cylindricum, Necydalis major (on a birch mutt) and (most importantly!) - my first self-assembled Menesia bipunctata. By the way, it is collected in the grass under tree-like willows (there is no buckthorn nearby for a mile). Filimonov's atlas also indicates that Menesia larvae develop under the bark of thick willow and aspen branches. Having already arrived home, I found Dinoptera collaris in the vicinity of Rostov (for the Yaroslavl region, this barbel is very sporadic).
All photos were taken in Gelendzhik.

From June 24 to July 3, we were with Arkhipus in Karachay-Cherkessia. This time we started not from Arkhyz, but from Dombay, hoping to take some species that are not found to the west. As always, we flew to the Mines. Vod, from there-by typewriter to Dombay. Immediately upon arrival, the settlement was struck by mud (in fact, it is a solid construction site) and wild prices (1.5-2 times higher than in Moscow). Before it got dark, they set up traps, which, however, turned out to be almost empty in the morning (Thermocellisses do not countsmile.gif). In the morning we went to the river bank to look for Nebryas and generally take a closer look at the surroundings. On the shore, in the sandy glades, they took a certain kind of Steed, very similar to a Hybrid. They immediately caught a bunch of different Bembs, and from Nebria - Nigerima. A little later, we found the place where the glacier descended, where there were many broken trees. Here we came across 2 types of goldfish (in the pm Chrysobothris Affinis) and some barbels (Clitus Arietes, Saperda sp, etc). In the evening we went up to the ski lifts, uphill. We caught some Nebryas and other small things. New morning we went to Alpika. To do this, we used the lifts (2 steps). In some places there was still snow (altitude 2600m), spring primroses bloomed. After a long and painful search, we managed to take 1 species of Nebria from the subgenus Alpeus - it lived on the edge of snow. Here and there the ubiquitous Koenig's Carabus was caught. Tsekhinochilusy did not come across, but I caught 3 Bosphorus Carabus (2 males and a female). Everything is done by handles, under rocks. Fortunately, we didn't see any foresters, smile.gif so we checked the traps and pulled out a few Tribax Apshuanus Zorki. On the fourth day, we decided to make legs out of Dombay - we got dust, dirt, crowds of people, idiotic tavern music and crazy prices. During the day, we caught Bifasceatum Ragweed (this is my favorite type ofsmile.gifRagweed), in the evening, on damaged maples - the coveted Ropalopus Ledderi (thanks to Denis for the definition!). In the morning of the 28th, we took a minibus and drove to Zelenchukskaya, and from there-by typewriter - to Nizhny Arkhyz. The first walk brought Karabus Dekalor, Tsikhrusov, Ragiev and Geotrupes Olga (+ a few Ontophages and Aphodieus, they are waiting for a new ownersmile.gif). Traps were placed in the checked places. The remaining days, however, were a little overshadowed by the weather - it rained periodically, and once we got wet to the skin (I poured water out of my sneakers 2 times). But on the flowers and logs I caught a female local Oximerus, Enoploderus, a bunch of Paraclitus Sexgutatus (who need - contact), a lot of Lepturina, etc. In the mountains, they took Archplectus Edita, Tribax: Bibirstein, Circassikus and Agnatus, Carabus Aurolimbatus and Cumanus (these were few, but not the most interesting species, to put it mildly). On the penultimate day, we finally came across (also by manual collection) Tsekhinochilusy Beberi and their capture will undoubtedly be remembered for a lifetime. In general, Karachay-Cherkessia once again gave us good training camps and great impressions. We'll go there again, that's for suresmile.gif

The other day, 4 pieces of this cute insect were bred from Astragalus wood brought from Talysh. Xylotrechus ilamensis campadellii Sama et Rapuzzi, 2002.
In total, for two people with a comrade, 51 types of barbels in 2.5 weeks.

And in general, anything else (except barbels) was it displayed? And then it would be interesting to also breed animals, but I've never tried (well, except that only humpbacks were bred).

I collect pieces of wood specifically under the barbel, so they mostly climb.

- Report-not a report... - and I went on the seventh day after yesterday's birthday libations-to get drunk, lying in a hot mineral spring under the open sky (after all, +18 in the shade). "I was eager to see at least one wintering nymphalid... - no. "There are no flowers of the first - not even vernonica.
- But then, in addition to 3 species of flies and 8-legged haymaker, - noticed near the road to the top on the southern slope-2,5-centimeter green very frisky caterpillar moth! - But There Is No photo app! - I stand in a stupor and complain. - Here a Muscovite is slapping with a fool, which I never dreamed of buying (a photo accessory, not a woman). "I say to him,' Let me smoke, 'because I want to eat so much,' there's no place to spend the night.'.. - in short, for 100 rubles, he deigned to take a picture of this caterpillar with his camera (in auto mode!!!), and gave me a business card with his phone so that I would bring him my flash drive.
- There are only suitable emoticons on Odnoklassniki...

- I was also on a hike on the 25th with Jinalsky hr. in the area of the Big Saddle - +13 gr. - From insects I met only a cow. (big photos don't fit in, since I'm in the Internet salon right now).

Yesterday I returned from Mount Semashkho, went for 3 days to set traps, and I just really wanted to go to the mountains rolleyes.gif
I went with a classmate, got a good ride, got a lift before the climb, the weather - the sun is +20 maybe more, while walking around fluttered awake diaries, even saw a lizard(although the zoology teacher, two days earlier proved that they only wake up by Aprilwall.gif), in the evening we reached the camp site, in the morning we went to the dome mountains, on the southern and south-western slopes the grass was already beginning to turn green, on the northern one there was snow up to the waist, I set several series of traps, turned stones, realized that in the middle of February the beetles were still sleeping... frown.gif weep.gif mad.gif As a result, the trophies were a few harpals, a couple of Pt. Myosodus lacunosus and a few trekhus, but the main task was completed, the traps were set, I will go to check in April, I hope Andreas will join me beer.gif
Another thing I remember, in one hole in the light of the lantern spotted 2x medium-sized scoop... shuffle.gif
and some photos:

- And on the 10th - the first day-2 communicating latons (the most interesting thing is that they spend the winter in pupae) - and some more from afar, which just didn't look like anyone - but probably still hives!
"And then winter came again...

— thank you. - I'll look at the link later - right now I'm in a hurry.
- We have both red, pink, and blue wings - (this individual is just like the latter) - But again, I repeat , I have never met them in the spring!

- Then I had another misunderstanding: - yesterday the weather improved a little, - I went on a small hike and took a picture in the forest valley of a hydrogen sulfide spring (by the way, for the first time in this place) - Nymphalis polychloros.
- So, - enlighten me friends, - how much does it really give?; - and has anyone ever met this butterfly fresh-not overwintered? - We have never had such a case for 4 butterfly-catchers here before! frown.gif

- I was interested in individuals before wintering! - How many generations does it really give? - And in what areas, if 2? "And why aren't they even seen hatching in the same year?"??
Generation one. It takes off (here, in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine) at the end of June and lives until next spring. You can really see them best in the spring. In summer, too, sometimes come across, but it is more difficult to see. Probably due to the fact that in the summer they also estivate. And they stay at the level of the treetops, descending only on something delicious, like shit. smile.gif

First, only males fly to poop. Secondly, I have already said somewhere here that the years of fresh brood go God forbid for three days (or even less), then-estivation (which is why they come out in the spring at first, sometimes completely intact, and so in a few days of active life they turn into flying genitals). On the current oak, you can find females, just in flight, etc. On the bait should also go. On the wounded apple tree go exactly.

"So I'll be hunting right now." - And I saw them only in the area of 2 forest streams (in the early spring, of course, only).
- Estivation is a summer diapause-like lemonade? - The only thing that shocked me was that after hatching from the pupa, they literally fly for 3 days...
- And if you knock-beat on the trunk of a willow (not a willow, right?) - then the tracks can hit?..

- Then it turns out - that not winter and not summer, but some kind of just lethargic coma immediately after birth (if they really do not fly after hatching from pupae until spring...

- I look at Vovan's photo report, and my soul rejoices!!! - So I want to go through these expanses together with my brother in a reasonable way, trample my feet, get drunk on the wind and take pictures and collect, collect and take pictures! - although it is very difficult at the same time. "I need a partner." - And then at a rest stop, enjoy sharpening some sausages and order a small bottle of dry vinishka..........
- In short, I went the day before yesterday through the flooded salt marsh semi-desert along the overgrown giant reeds and flooded river Dzhemukhi from the 3rd kilolmeter station to the Snake station (such a mountain in the photo). "I haven't seen a single butterfly." I did not collect a single beetle (there were two types of bombers sitting in a mass under the stones, and they stubbornly did not want to pose. But the ticks seem to be just waiting for me. "I shot them in bundles.
At first it was sunny, but the wind was cold. Then it became overcast and very cold. Her feet were wet to the knee. - But I got the highest pleasure.
I took a self-timer photo of myself with a different camera that I used to take pictures of insects.
- Here are some photos: - do not judge strictly. smile.gif "the avrakushka nightingale, the sawyered suthatches, the male marsh harrier, and the coots who just ran amok in the water.
