2 - I'm leaning towards Thymelicus lineola
yes.gif Th. lineola, male. No doubt about it.

Yes, you can. Sylvestris has a slightly greenish tint, but this is on fresh specimens, on flown ones it is difficult to see. It is better to take photos of the top of the wings in such cases.
This is a fresh copy. smile.gif But I doubt the diagnostic value of this "greenish shade".

I think it looks more like a female Phthonosema tendinosaria or a similar species. Sinev has four types of them in the yard. However, none of them is specified for Sakhalin smile.gif.

Nothing in common at all. Tendinosaria (also a female!) - firstly, it just doesn't look like it, and secondly, it's a healthy burdock, more like a spring roboraria, and the photo is clearly a small butterfly. Still, I think that crepuscular, and summer, light form. And why the dispute, compare for yourself. Here are both views:

The bottom row in Ectropis is most likely E. exelens, but I haven't checked it yet - I don't have time for seaside material.

Identified it as Odontopera aurata. Tell me, right? Sakhalin, June.

Looks similar. Clearly not Odontopera arida, its wings are more scalloped. But, since Sakhalin is a specific place, only those who personally held the material in their hands and determined it can say for sure, and here everyone can only compare the pictures and in this case they are no better than you )

The thing is, I think you look better, you have a better eye. On your definitions, both correct and not, I study myself.

I ask for help in determining: All collected Chelyabinsk region Snezhinsk
447-26.09.2016, I assume that wintering Conistra vaccinii (Linnaeus, 1761)
448 - from pupa 12.06.2016, I assume that Polia bombycina (Hufnagel, 1766)

447 Conistra vaccinii, but not unambiguously, there may be such a Conistra ligula, it is very similar.
448 here, yes.

Tell me, please, the type of this firebox. The snout span is 45 mm.

This is why it is extremely difficult to visually distinguish Ancylolomia tentaculella and Ancylolomia palpella, since males are well distinguished by their antennae. But from the 13th region only Ancylolomia tentaculella

Thank you, Djon! I'm missing something: what system do you use to number your regions? For cars-Stavropol Krai - 26 region. shuffle.gif

28.10.2016 15:31, Alexandr Zhakov

Peter, I indicated which system. smile.gif
In 2008, a large team of authors, under the editorship of Sinev, published a catalog of lepidoptera of Russia, so as not to get lost in the vastness of Russia, its entire territory was divided into 40 regions. What administrative territories are located in what region can be found in the preface of the catalog, it is available online: Catalog of Lepidoptera Of Russia. Sinev, S. Yu., St. Petersburg; Moscow: Comradeship of Scientific Publications of the KMC, 2008
or on the website: https://insecta.pro/catalog go to "Regions of Russia" on the right and "Explanations for Russian regions" at the bottom

Your:
13-West Caucasus: Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, Republics of Adygea, Kabardino-Balkar, Karachay-Cherkess, North Ossetia-Alania, Ingushetia

Thank you. You have them too. I also looked at the Yandex photo on the Japanese site. But whether it is pale enough to be G. a. festinaria (Christoph, 1881). According to the Japanese website, the term of the summer of this subspecies is shifted to autumn by a month compared to G. a. agnes.
And from the post earlier, probably Alsophila japonensis. Thank you again!

Help identify lichens and scoops. Lichens were caught in early September in the Tuapse region. The four left-handers I identified as Eilema caniolum. The right one is similar to Eilema cororcula.

It is better to look at the distribution. Agnes is given for Wakayama as Honshu. Festigaria for Hokkaido is closer to Sakhalin. So there can be two options, either a subspecies from Hokkaido or from the mainland, if one exists (I do not know).

Try to cook, then at least up to the subfamily can be determined )

By the way, I also have a question for experts. Tell me, what "little white pyadenichki" can be such prichindaly? The butterfly itself is completely circled, the pattern is not preserved. I suspect Myrteta unio, but something is too small for this species:
