Macrothylacia rubi - Betula, Salix, Populus, Vicia, Rubus, Trifolium, Vaccinium, Geranium

Are you sure it's a raspberry cocoonworm?..
Raspberries were wild - I threw them to check.
Troll wife about geraniums-you can not dig out the caterpillars to graze =)

The eggs are his.
About caterpillars - I didn't understand what "something like this hatched" means.
But the caterpillars in the photo, apparently, are also his:

It is similar to the pupa of Tortricodes alternella with almost the same horns on the tail, but the female is winged.

Maybe it is Exapate congelatella that flies in the fall, its females are wingless, but there is no information about their larvae and pupae on the Internet.

Judging by the rows of spines on the segments of the abdomen, this is one of the leafworms.

In the garden behind the barn, it grows two meters high, and the neighbors feed rabbits with it. Very, I'll tell you, "right rabbits", always fun!

Hello, dear forum participants!

Here is a caterpillar caught with children right on the highway, about 100 km south of Novosibirsk, rescued from under the wheels. Behaves very actively, ate lilac leaves, when you pick up - quickly and threateningly wriggles.

Tell me, please, who will grow out of it and what to feed it.
According to the school identification of butterflies, I suspect that this is the Bear Kaya, but most likely it is unlikely, because I do not know the literature with pictures.

In the photo-just sprayed from the sprayer, wet)).

I looked through the entire topic starting from the 1st page-2006. Conclusion-the entire lepidopterofauna consists of two species-raspberry cocoonworm and grass cocoonworm. Well, occasionally-moth moth, hawk moth and even something else interests the people. This caterpillar is known by everyone and everywhere - summer residents, schoolchildren, law enforcement agencies, office workers, homeless people, etc. For 8 years, no one in the topic took an interest in it. On Lepidoptera.ru it doesn't exist. And why - it is in the genetic memory of all Eurasia! I was the only one left in the dark. Don't eat right. Can someone nid tell me ???????

here such specialists, You and tropical species will determine, not like Ukraine...))

Most of the participants are from Russia simply, but mainly because it has a larger population)) As it is, a bear caterpillar from Ukraine is clearly more likely to be identified here than a leaflet from Russia.
