and I still throw the option ))) Some kind of fingerfly (Emmelina?) - then on the bindweed ))) But hardly a satirist. They have a peculiar anal plug.

At first glance, this is true. Maniola jurtina, I think. And why did you change your mind - I didn't eat cereals?

That's right, there's a fork on the tail. It's just that the pictures were bad. Besides, it's too big for a fingerfly.

Yes, it looks like it is. He eats cereals, so he might be able to see a butterfly.

As usual, we bought lettuce for the salad. After a couple of days, I took it out of the refrigerator and began to wash it, and there was a caterpillar in the core. This is a big one, about 3.5-4cm. I thought she was cold, but she started to move. So I put it in a jar with the same lettuce. For two days, she lived like this, and this morning, I see, she has greatly decreased in size (is this normal at all?). I think it's starting to pupate, I've just noticed. There are no good photos, unfortunately, because I don't want to bother her right now. Please help me identify it.

Lettuce from a local eco-farm. Israel.

SAVE THE CATERPILLARS!
I picked up eggs at a tropical butterfly show and was told that they were ailanthus silkworm (Samia cynthia) and morpho (Morpho peleides), but the caterpillars that came out of the eggs don't want to eat lilac, maple, or clover. They don't look like either Samia cynthia or Morpho peleides. One has already died. Please tell me who it is, save the poor devils.

Wouldn't it be better to go to the place where you bought them and ask who they are ?
And then, if the caterpillars survive and turn into butterflies, what will you do with them? Will you take me to South America?

18.06.2018 20:39, БутявкО-2

I didn't buy them, so they gave them away. the organizers of the exhibition don't know much, so I had to explain to them how to distinguish a female from a male. For them, this is pure business. Please tell me what to feed them.
