I think it's Charltonius, not Avtokrator...

15.03.2008 9:14, PG18

Of course charltonius, and, indeed, more August than Maysmile.gif

15.03.2008 11:29, Pavel Morozov

Using the curatorial title, I made adjustments to the post with the image of Charltonius

Guys....
The height of 2600 is the level of the Khorog botsad. From it to the height of the habitat of Parnassius charltonius vaporosus (this is definitely him, the female) for "schwarzeneggers" 5 hours of going up, for" goons " - 7,8,9,10 hours.... The butterfly does not fly out before July 10, such battered individuals are August....
At the beginning of June, at an altitude of 2600, only Parnassius honrathi alburnus takes off on Shugnan, he is the earliest there.
The lower limit of Charlton's habitat there is 3500-3600, not lower!!!!
Personal observations for more than one year!

Hello everybody! Thank you for the valuable information that confirms that the collector from whom this material was purchased incorrectly rewrote the labels (why he did this at all is not clear). Does it even exist on Shugnan?

15.03.2008 22:16, гость с С-Запада

The subspecies vaporosus is known almost all over the Shugnan range.
We can assume that the altitude is 3600 (not 2600), and the date is not May 18, but August 18 (for July - too flown, although much depends on the year)

And here is the real legend: the so-called "uralsikiy nomion", the same specimen caught by A. Zhuravsky almost 100 years ago and given in the izvetsny article by N. Ya. Kuznetsov. The picture was taken with the kind permission of the employee of the ZIN. Decide for yourself what kind of "beast"it is. IMHO - this is still Feb. picture: _________1.jpg

Heck! But Nomion is just the spitting image!

19.04.2008 9:15, AGT68

So, if there was no "spitting image of nomion", there would be no questions. I went along the route of Zhuravsky four times, well, there is no nomion there, but Phoebus is enough. And a species, which is often forgotten by "boxed" taxonomists , is a system of populations, or at least one population. Let me remind you that there is another concept , like the minimum population size.
There are enough such fetotypes among females, but it seems
to be a male, although genitalia in ex. it wasn't found.
M. B. apollo?, which I didn't find on Neroyka either. Everywhere one Feb.

There's a label from Lviv - and the number 930, I think. Isn't that the number of the drug by the hour?

Hmm. And how many Lvivskys do we have? wink.gif

Just for fun: in a recent book by Lvovsky and Morgun, it says: "Later local populations were found in the Northern and Middle Urals", and a link to the work of Kreutzberg and Ivy (which I have not seen, alas). Are there any comments?

The first instance is not Parnassius stubbendorfi. This is stopudovo P. glacialis!
The second is P. stubbendorffii, which is clearly an island species.
