Please respond immediately!
How many days after the last molt does the first mating occur in captive-bred arboreal animals? Is this mating normal, especially: how does the male behave?

08.06.2008 15:11, Guest

I share my joy, we left ootek Iris polystictica, and started Ameles heldreichi !

08.06.2008 20:51, Боря

Mating usually takes about two weeks. I raised two males and three females (one in the last stage). One of the females has a black spot on the eye, the result of keeping it in a small volume. I haven't planted it for mating yet.

The guest who brought out irises and amelyses, where are you from? Can we exchange a little bit of wood with you? I already have 100 of them, but there are no other types! Who lives near Kiev - I CHANGE!

I entered under the name, I'm from Minsk, as soon as I determine the number of people who came out, I'll be happy to change.

Mating does not occur, the male jumps on the female and is inactive. ( and he and she are already a month after the PL)

13.06.2008 1:47, Мих

After being exposed to the sun for the 4th time, the male was activated.. mating lasted 2 hours.

15.06.2008 10:49, vlad-veras

Tell me, what do you feed your first children with?

Well, have you decided?

Something people forgot about mantises.. How are you doing?"

18.08.2008 22:16, guest: Егор

Sell praying mantis in Bryansk adult male, length 6 cm. ICQ: 204-391-892

20.08.2008 11:48, fly-km

and no one wants to resume the topic?

21.08.2008 10:35, coastfox

People, buy a praying mantis.
Ryazan region, pickup.
7.5 cm. Madame.
Mantis religiosa.

4 hours from Kazansky railway station.
Korablino city.

26.08.2008 12:55, fly-km

Please explain, I'm a little stupid... where do you propose to meet?

26.08.2008 21:16, Феанор

Here's an empuz of little pasus. The weather has turned bad, there is no food, fruit flies do not fly. I wonder how long they live without food? The Manties used to live with me for a week once...

27.08.2008 21:07, DmitryBurkow

I managed to solve the problem of feeding empuzas with green cane aphids =)
They eat with pleasure, even run after them. And these aphids are now piled up in parks.

27.08.2008 21:28, Феанор

In bulk? I found the only bush with aphids in the country with difficulty... wall.gif Okay, tomorrow I'll go loot Troparevsky Park. And I'll take a net - I'll mow some small things on the grass.

28.08.2008 6:16, Мих

I came back from the Crimea and brought a herd of praying mantises:
6 empuzas - all larvae of 1.5-2 cm
each 9 females and 4 males of the Crimean Bogomolchik (imago)
a pair of mantis and another 2 larvae-females, and one small male
11 females and 7 males-larvae-arboreal
5 females and 7 males imago arboreal
male iris-caught at the station near the train when passing through Kherson.

28.08.2008 6:16, Мих

Urgent question: when does a male empusa have feathery whiskers? in imago, and predimago, or even in young larvae?

28.08.2008 6:17, Мих

Another question - who would send a female iris to Kiev? I'd like to share the rest of the animals..

28.08.2008 7:17, DmitryBurkow

Don't look there. It is necessary not on bushes, but on reeds. Find a body of water (often found in parks like this) with tall "reeds" growing along its banks, but with feathery tops. And carefully inspect mainly the upper leaves of it. They don't come across at all, but if they do, it's a big herd.

28.08.2008 7:33, Мих

OW! They live with you! please explain the question with the mustache!!!!

28.08.2008 7:47, DmitryBurkow

OW! They live with you! please explain the question with the mustache!!!!

They didn't live up to my imago. No cirrus was observed in L4-5.

Important conclusion! Always put ooteki on wintering grounds. Winter mantises do almost no offspring, with the last molt 40%-60% of mutations, mating is very difficult, most(?* ) ootec is incapacitated.

*or all of them---------------------

31.08.2008 18:08, Боря

Or maybe they don't produce offspring because they don't get ultraviolet light? If you try to light them with a reptile lamp, then perhaps the result will be different?
The winter-grown M. religiosa and Hierodula membranacea even looked fainter and weaker than the spring-summer ones that were exposed to the sun. They were pale in color, had softer wings, no bluish waxy coating, did not fly, mated much less readily than natural ones, and did not lay ootheks either.
But I did not observe any injuries during molting in the winter generation, almost all of them grow to adults.

31.08.2008 19:56, guest: fly-km

I can bring it to Ryazan, the other day my Stasia laid offspring on a twig,200 pieces of eggs at least.

01.09.2008 23:19, Мих

I will sell a Tree mantis in Kiev . from 1 to 10 pieces, even a male or a female! And I'd rather exchange it for some praying mantises ! For example, on a female iris (my ishe larval)

04.09.2008 14:04, fly-km

weep.gif eh..it will be a long way to go

04.09.2008 14:42, Мих

Train and guide. There would be a wish!

04.09.2008 14:43, Мих

On Tarantulas, spiders are sent out to all the usngs in this way. The mantises will pass the night in the train quite calmly.

07.09.2008 0:41, Мих

How to stimulate the postponement of the ootheca in ameles (bogomolchik krymsky). ?Ordinary is stimulated by an increase in the amount of food, wood-heating. And these sit fat, warm themselves, eat immoderately, and are postponed and are not going to. By the way, females don't eat males. They live together in liter cans, occasionally mate, but the female eats the male only if she is VERY hungry. And she also lures him to her with her small wings open and her belly raised.
I didn't have much luck with common praying mantises - the female killed two males before mating, and she killed them instantly - I didn't even have time to react. But there was a freshly salted male, and the same female.
A female iris suddenly died, and so did one male, leaving only one young female and three males. When is it better to bring them together?
Empuz, probably, it is time to prepare for wintering(the larva overwinters), or it is better to try to bring out the imago in winter? How much does the empusa ootheca develop( postponed 21.08) are there still chances,or a neoplode?
Well, tree breeds are bred like rabbits. ... Strenuously mate, females as not in itself males always eat( last year half of males ran away..) In general, the most unproblematic praying mantises.

08.09.2008 9:49, guest: fly-km

I hope so!!

08.09.2008 12:52, DmitryBurkow

Empusa ootheca develops in about 2 weeks. Empuzas can winter both in the adult and larval state (the last age), according to my book about them smile.gif
I will not arrange wintering for my own - you can buy flies, the main thing is to grow up to an imago as quickly as possible, otherwise the larvae can't cope with flies.

08.09.2008 16:45, Guest

People, please tell me. I got a female iris in my hands, put aside the ooteka, how and where to store it correctly???

08.09.2008 19:28, Мих

So, should I send it to Moscow?

09.09.2008 10:16, fly-km

whenever possible.. what and how? I'd love to!!!huge
