It's not far for a train. If you still want to pair it, you can arrange it.
No, she didn't have long to live. In a month, she will postpone another library, and then - either in 2 weeks another one will die, or in 3 weeks it will simply die.

how to breed offspring and what to feed ?

Personal advice-do not give an omnivorous / predatory prey: when the praying mantis molts, such prey can shomyachit itself. Personal experience with Mantis religiosa/Blatella germanica smile.gif

Very small things, probably aphids will do.

P.S. "Cocoon" is called ooteka smile.gif

Note-cockroaches eat mantises when molting for a sweet soul, even the smallest ones. For example, I have a predimago prusaka devoured during the link the larva of a mantis de then the 5th vozrasta

12.10.2008 11:29, Мих

If I breed, I'll sell the larvae. Wait half a year.

14.10.2008 21:30, Феанор

Are you sure that empuzas can't eat crickets and cockroaches? It's very annoying to breed flies with them. So far, there are enough moths (for some reason, a lot of moths fly out of cereals at home this fall, it is very convenient for her to feed the animals), but sooner or later the jellyfish will outgrow it.

15.10.2008 7:41, DmitryBurkow

Crickets and cockroaches can be very small and only larvae - they agree with hunger and do not eat this. And it is dangerous to make sure that there are no crickets or cockroaches nearby when molting. Adults are like fly-eaters. I feed my own fruit flies and I don't know any problems! There are 3 banks where fruit flies are bred, covered with a piece of paper. It is easy to take away the flies from there - put another jar on top and pull out the piece of paper. Then put it back in, and whatever comes up is put in the freezer. I now have 5-year-old empuzas, individual fruit flies are too small, but this is not a problem: I "roll" several flies (10 pieces) into one "drosophila cutlet", attach it to a live wire and give it to the animals. They eat with great pleasure. For me, it is more difficult to breed crickets, and cockroaches are more disgusting than fruit flies smile.gif

looking for a male Hierodula transcaucasica, imago. urgently!!! the city is unimportant. write to icq 282461251 or here.

15.10.2008 16:48, фийка

our praying mantises don't really want to eat cockroaches... they also don't like to catch them - cockroaches are flat. but crickets were always eaten well. we probably shouldn't have tried to translate them into cockroaches...

20.10.2008 13:44, fly-km

confused.gif so the larvae are less picky in their food choices?

20.10.2008 16:18, DmitryBurkow

Larvae are more voracious and hungry... Therefore, they are less picky. L1 empusa I have generally attacked the larva of a ladybug, which was caught with aphids... In addition, they see worse, so they are also not so picky.

20.10.2008 17:30, Мих

Big vopos. What are the differences between Hierodula tanscaucsaika and Sphodromantis baccettii? I bought sfodromantis and I don't see any significant differences. Open my eyes please.

20.10.2008 19:33, Боря

In my opinion, the differences may be in the number and shape of white bumps or spines on the forward-facing edge of the front leg basins.

21.10.2008 21:15, фийка

Previously, Sphodromantis was assigned to the genus Hierodula, then separated into a separate one.

a.
A sharp conical bump between the base of the antennae and the inner edge of the eye.
-- >genus Sphodromantis

b.
There is only a small bump between the base of the antennae and the inner edge of the eye. Eastern form.
-- >genus Hierodula

Sphodromantis have a tubercule between
the base of the antennae and the eye; this is absent in Hierodula and
other (sub)genera in the Hierodula-group.

25.10.2008 14:47, Сам ОН!!

Urgently buy a young Praying Mantis with a length of no more than 4 cm, very necessary. Peter. preferably male.

26.10.2008 21:39, Мих

Nafig urgently?? I have a male mantis in Kiev.. but not quite young anymore.. If there is a female who is waiting for him, then it will be enough for a couple of mating sessions.. I can sell it... But pay for the transportation yourself.

26.10.2008 21:41, Мих

And if there is a gift for someone, then not necessarily a mantis.. And if not on podaarok and on rzvod then why is it desirable to have a male and not just a male? and if not for a divorce, then I don't understand why a praying mantis can be urgently needed???

26.10.2008 21:42, Мих

Who knows what optimal conditions are needed for masonry mantises? All heat-loving species are carried when heated.. and these do not respond to heating...

28.10.2008 15:07, Сам ОН!!

For a couple of pairings?Heh!During (or after) the female bites off the male's head. Read Wikipedia!

28.10.2008 19:44, Мих

Who should I filter the bazaar for? For me? And by the way, in Wikipedia, I myself added that the female bites off the male's head in 50% of cases... And yet, why do we need a male urgently?

29.10.2008 14:00, Сам ОН!!

It doesn't eat, it just kills.

29.10.2008 20:22, Боря

According to my observations, in captivity, if full, then almost never. Another thing is that in nature they rarely are.

30.10.2008 0:20, Мих

A lot depends on the type of praying mantis.. from the temper, character. You can not measure everyone under one comb. There are such maniacal females... and there are good ones on the contrary. Regardless of satiety. In general, this is all off-site. Further discussion in the topic "Is it difficult to keep praying mantises" And this is a bazaar smile.gif)) they sell them here..

30.10.2008 0:24, Мих

"""I NEED MANTIS RELIGIOSA AND VERY urgently soooooooooooooooooooooooooo """ Waiting for comments ! Why you need it, why you need it urgently.

30.10.2008 11:51, Сам ОН!!

Why would you do that?well, you never know why. NEED and all.

30.10.2008 22:08, VAZ

I sell praying mantises Sphodromantis baccettii in Moscow.
http://www.tropicarium.ru/sphodromantis.htm

31.10.2008 12:47, VAZ

I didn't sell any adult praying mantises to anyone. In other words, all your statistics consist of 6 pieces. If such a grief has already happened, then I am ready to return the money or provide other services. I'm responsible for quality.

06.11.2008 14:30, guest: Юлия

Hello!!!! smile.gif
My dad found a praying mantis(I do not know how to call it correctly) and brought it home.Question:How to feed it and in what favorable conditions for it to keep it....
I live in the city of Ust-Labinsk (Krasnodar Krai).
I'll be waiting for a response...

06.11.2008 17:06, Мих

1) A picture of a praying mantis or a short description-say, what to call
it 2)Depending on its size, feed small insects, based on the type-what insects.. At least roughly describe the praying mantis, its length, and its color.. . they are different, and contain them in slightly different ways..

06.11.2008 17:20, DmitryBurkow

Julia:

Action plan:

1) If the mantis has a strange growth on its head and the whole mantis is "wobbly and strange" - empusa. Keep in a dry place, put dry grass and branches to make it comfortable to crawl and hang. You don't need to water them, and feed them flies/mosquitoes of a suitable size (no larger than the grip on the front of your paws).

otherwise 2) If the size is less than 5 centimeters - rivetina/iris/Bolivaria, keep in a dry place, warm, feed insects no more than 1/3 of the body length of the praying mantis, throw herbs and branches

otherwise, 3) If the mantis has black spots on the inner side of its front legs - an ordinary mantis, feed it with fillies and grasshoppers of any size, keep it in a moderately dry place, sometimes water (spray), put strong branches on which the mantis can hang.

otherwise, 4) If the praying mantis is of a powerful build, there are whitish spots on the wings from the sides - a tree mantis. Humidity is slightly higher and there are more branches with leaves. Feed everything that moves.

In any case, send a photo to the studio, then there will be detailed instructions.
