2.07.09 I went with a friend to catch the light in the area, Zmievsky district, S. Mokhnach....
P.S. Question to barko and other specialists in scoops: how rare is the X. ashwortii species in general, or not ?
The species is not considered rare. Of course, it does not fly everywhere, but it comes across regularly in its habitats. 6 grand in one night is not bad.

After the rain, dew fell from 2-00, in the morning +14. Years are not very old, 3 species predominated, of which more than 20 specimens of each flew (marked *)

Here is a photo on the straightener and next to perplexa, the color is something between irregularis and perplexa. One to one as in the book by Klyuchko.

Hello to all forumchanam!I came to Koktebel yesterday for my internship...It's cool that more money will be paid (so much 28 pupaars a month), I spend at least 10 pupaars a day on food here...in general, there is very little free time, today, instead of going to the beach with the girls , I went to the mountains on the border of the Karadag Nature Reserve (then the reserve itself did not squeak - they write that a fine)

Results of fishing:
- two types of abscess on grassy vegetation (red-black and black-orange-yellow some well-known banals probably, the second in the mass)
- three types of German OS (total of 4 pcs)one ksamaya large stung in the thumb, so I there on svsyu street shouted-su...!!!!!!!!
- some kind of black bronze (Crimean (*I posted this in the definition))
skakunchiki gracilis in the mountains on the shore of the riding swamp,
- a very large tick,
- winged red-winged soldier,
even in the mass of small black bronzes 1 cm with white spots(tell me this krymsiye species/subspecies or banal)
- tsykady chirping with might and main..

But the most amazing thing is the small frogs in the mass on one bank of the upper swamp, so bright light green with a gray stripe on the damage to the eyes, somewhere 15.2 cm in length,if they could be dried,I would take them to the stain...

I spent two days in a row in the woods last week, checking crown and soil traps. And in one of them there was, as entomologists in Moldova say, pppczybuagm and so on Cerambyx cerdo jump.gif jump.gif jump.gif, in general, there was happiness. As well
as Leptura aurulenta
L. quadrifasciata
Axinopalpis gracilis
Purpuricinus kaehleri
Isotomus speciosus
Plaganotus detritus
Cnorimus variabilis
Cyrtoclytus capra
Phymatodes testaceus
Potosii - aeruginosa, lugubris, fieberi, affinis, cuprea, ну и цетонии

And in the soil, in addition to the typical set of excellens, coriaceus, cancellatus and piles of nikroforus, Odonteus armiger was caught - 3 males (handsome) and large
Dorcus, s (I had not met such before).

P.S. Now that cerdo was caught twice in Moldova and rosalia was caught once, who will claim the title of the rarest barbel?
Congratulations Andrey and Rosalia smile.gif

July 10-13.09 A. R. Crimea.Koktebel;
Went out to catch 4 times for an hour and a half;
The most interesting place in my opinion is a place on the Karadag Nature Reserve,the only one with a landing of Crimean Pine where Hipparchia fagi (Scopoli, 1763)flew;

Among the elephants, I met (one at a time) 5 species of Larinus,7 pieces of Rhinocyllus conicus (Froelich, 1792), on the Crimean pine Magdalis rufa;
I arrived a little earlier than promised.

This is probably Scantius aegyptius, they are winged. And the usual Pyrrhocoris apterus should be seen in large crowds.

Yesterday with Liparus we went to Rogan (east of Kharkiv). I had just sewn a new net that needed to be tested at work.
The previous Chinese "fish" lived no more than 2 months. By the way the ring was given to him by I. P. Lezhenina herself. smile.gif
At the next analysis of I flies, I somehow inadvertently mentioned that they say my net was covered...
In general, I photographed, along the way collecting mostly bedbugs. Liparus with a net worked with his hands, it should be noted quite successfully,
by the end of the day he was picking up calluses... smile.gif In general, the tests of the net were successful, I would have lived to see the Crimea (food for August 3-10).
At the same time, I recently got a set of Raynox CM-3500 macro converters (there are three for 6x, 12x, 24x),
I also wanted to see what happens in the field.
Our plan was to visit the arboretum of the Agrarian University first, then go to the pond...
When approaching the arboretum, a security guard was standing at the main entrance, which was somewhat strange and did not bode well.
So it turned out - he didn't let us in from the main entrance, saying that some kind of delegation was expected. Of course, I
had to regret that we had not yet been issued certificates of membership of the Kharkiv Entomological Society,
although we were accepted there in the winter (and we can already say that summer is ending, at least "entomological"), in this situation
such a piece of paper may have played a role...
But for some reason, he advised us to go from the back, apparently frivolously hoping that laziness would overcome our desire to visit there.
But that was not the case, it was not in our plans to get to Rogan for more than an hour and leave with nothing. Of course, we went around the arboretum,
there is no fence at the back, calmly climbed the entire arboretum (completely empty), caught a net and re-photographed everything that came across on the way,
looking ahead in between to see if the promised delegation loomed there... smile.gif
It is quite natural that our route ended just at the main entrance (after all, we entered from behind). Of course, I hid the net for the exit in my backpack,
so as not to give an extra reason for a scandal. But still, I was tormented by the question-why can't you enter the arboretum from the central entrance,
but in general you can go there (the guard himself advised us to go around), and can you go out through the main entrance? When they came to the gate,
it turned out that there was a lock hanging there, there were already three guards, but they were sitting 50 meters from the gate in the shade on a bench.
I didn't bother to pull the gate, so we turned around and walked back.
We walked about a hundred meters away and then one of them shouts-like the gate is open, where did you go and all that... In general, we returned, went out normally through
the central gate, of course, the guards accompanied our exit with appropriate comments, but it is clear that it is better not to enter into a discussion in such
cases. We passed in silence... at this time, they just spread to some grandfather, who apparently collected
medicinal herbs there and also just "finished the thought" like us. Then we went to the pond, walked a little along the shore there, something came across,
the heat was decent (around +35 C), we didn't go around the whole pond, we went back. When we were already at the bus stop , we just noticed a delegation
that came out of the Agricultural University and headed towards the arboretum... It was as if everyone was just waiting
for these two lunatics to leave Rogan's borders... smile.gif

From July 11 to 19, I had a rest with my wife in the Crimea, in Koktebel. Liparus was also there at about the same time, but it was not our fate to meet: immediately upon arrival, both my and my wife's mobile phones refused to work (a coincidence, damn it!), and, left without communication, I never crossed paths with Arthur. But judging by his pictures in the "Fishing Reports", they wandered almost in the same places... Overall impression: hot, extremely dry, burnt grass cover, sparse beetle species composition. The incessant chirping of cicadas still rings in my ears... I climbed the slopes of Kara-Dag and explored the surroundings of Koktebel. I managed to collect something; however, I will give you a list:
Carabidae
Cylindera germanica
Acinopus sp.
Ophonus sp.
Harpalus sp.

Cleridae
Trichodes apiarius

Lucanidae
Lucanus cervus

Scarabaeidae
Aphodius sp.
Onthophagus sp.
Chironitis hungaricus
Cetonia aurata

Elateridae
Melanotus fusciceps

Buprestidae
Acmaeodera flavofasciata
Capnodis tenebrionis
Capnodis tenebricosa
Coroebus rubi

Mycteridae
Mycterus tibialis

Meloidae
Mylabris (?)quadripunctata
something from ?Zonitis (?Euzonitis) - I'm in them like a pig in oranges
, some kind of abscess similar to Lytta (this is in my incompetent opinion), but clearly not a punk.

Cerambycidae
Chlorophorus varius (very common)
Chlorophorus sartor (less common than the previous one)
Stenopterus rufus (got one)

Chrysomelidae
Chrysolina menthastri (on mint on the slopes of Kara Dag)
Cryptocephalus sericeus (blue form, I somehow used to come across more and more variations of green)

Curculionidae
Larinus turbinatus
Curculio sp.

In the first row on the left, the third is Hylobius pinastri, and in front of it are two shadow beetles Dircaea quadriguttata. I didn't pick them up in the Crimea, but on my way there in the Moscow region, Istra district, where I was staying with relatives.

I have long been interested in the question: what is the biological meaning of differences in the timing of the release of females and males in some species? Or is this a false impression, and the females just live longer, and the time of the beginning of summer almost coincides?
