Good day,
So I'll share a little of my report for 23-24. 07.
Place of fishing-Botanical Garden of NASU named after N. N. Grishka.
I went with my friend, Sasha A. Fly, mainly, banals, tipo M. jurtina and A. hyperantus, a sea of whiteflies and pigeons. Bronzes on the umbrella "hang out". The only thing that pleased me was 3 pieces of E. quadripunctaria, a slightly torn swallowtail and its young caterpillar, which pupated today. I managed to take a couple of photos.

In the latest report, only the hera bear, the four-point bear (Euplagia quadripunctaria Poda, 1761), is present from a variety of sources. Apparently she meant it. Maxim, it's not a scoop!

Over the past couple of months, among the largest number of departures, the
most interesting ones were those on 12.07.2011 on the coast of the Molochny Estuary
in the vicinity of Girsovka village,Priazovsky district,Zaporizhia region (the first 4 photos),
and on 17.07.2011, on the Sea of Azov in the vicinity of Stepanovka 1 settlement, Priaz district-on. Zap. obl.
(other photos).
On the estuary, staphylinchiki flew perfectly… smile.gif

1_IMG_0947_ik.jpg

2_IMG_0997_ik.jpg

Among their abundance were Agrotis desertorum, Cucullia argentina (4ex), Cardepia sp.(probably harnigi), Anarta stigmosa…

3_IMG_7837_ik.jpg

Male German wasps seemed unusually large...(?)

4_IMG_7845_ik.jpg

In Stepanovka, they fished on the coast.

5_IMG_1290_ik.jpg

6_IMG_1315_ik.jpg

In the evening and in the morning we chased after Satanas gigas

7_IMG_0312_ik.jpg

In the morning, many different wasps were caught.
Here are some cute bembeks or Stizus (?)

8_IMG_0303_ik.jpg

In addition, the wasps Cerceris tuberculata were caught (photo later, in the opred.os).

At dusk, Polyphylla alba began to become active…

9_IMG_0287_ik.jpg

Shortly after dark, two copies arrived.
A giant ant lion.

10_IMG_0331_ik.jpg

It was nice to catch Hadena irregularis and Eogena contaminei from the scoops

11_IMG_0325_ik.jpg

12_IMG_0110_ik.jpg

Well, and the most unpleasant...
At 23-00 from the DRL-250 strona,
a "yellow ribbon" hit the bottom of the screen... Without hesitation and looking at it, it was
instantly caught... Well, caught and caught.
..... hymenaea, or in extreme cases fulminea…

The reevaluation of the capture came a little later...
After a careful look at the stain ...
Op-pa... yes, this is ... Catocala neonympha jump.gif jump.gif jump.gif

Report for 07. VIII. 2011, Kharkiv region, Ukraine. Fedor residents.
In 1914, the village was founded and since then the unique landscape of mesnoste has changed beyond recognition. Fortunately, local insect species were preserved there (between the garbage heaps and the cemetery).

Continuation of the report on Ukraine. I was in Ternopil for a full 8 days, I went for beetles several times to the nearest surrounding forests and pastures. I collected mostly by hand (I didn't take a net), but at one point I put a dozen glasses of local store-bought vinegar.
Fishing in glasses is unsuccessful-only 2-3 Pterostichus spp, Platynus assimile and Abax spp per trap. The most interesting area was Zagrebellja Park, a section of broad-leaved forest.
Collected from: Carabus coriaceus, C. granulatus (in cradles under the bark of dead wood), Cychrus caraboides, Nebria brevicollis, Cicindela hybrida (on the beach)Pterostichus spp, Platynus assimile, Abax spp., Xylodrepa quadripunctata, Prionus coriarius, as well as small things (bark beetles and other xylobionts) that need to be identified...
In the pasture, while my son was feeding the cows, I found a lot of coprobionts: Copris lunaris, Geotrupes spiniger, Onthophagus coenobita, O. gibbulus, O. taurus (or illyricus, you need to carefully identify all of them), Aphodius (6-7 species)...
Also in the" mutt " cherries in cradles found fresh Mesosa sp. (I haven't determined yet), and I brought two barbel pupae (from under the oak bark - ragii???) and from under the bark of spruce.
From the "scales" (which I don't catch...): a lot of whiteflies-turnips and rutabagas, meadow yolks fly; nymphalids are isolated: peacock's eye, field and large forest mother-of-pearl, thistle; a lot of different pigeons, a single fire chervonets, swallowtails did not see, also a bedstraw hawk moth flew into the entrance - released...
We were pleased with the local sanitary doctors-everywhere there are ads "beware of ticks", but at what height, and with what drawings... (by the way, there really are still ixodic ticks - I took them off in a clean park, but I didn't see any in the forest).
In the continuation of a few photos (Zhukov did not take pictures)

30.08.2011 Kiev region, Kagarlytsky district, Voronivka village district. We went as usual with Diletanto. After a month-long break, I return to entomology again. The weather was favorable, it was warm and windless. The temperature is + 19-20 degrees Celsius. As soon as they turned on the lamp (20.15-20.20), they flew in the mass of Hepialus lupinus, although the flight lasted about half an hour, and then as cut off. There were a lot of dustpans and moths flying, but nothing very outstanding. Catocals were also common. Of the hawk moth species D. porcellus, A. convulvuli, N. euphorbii, and H. livornica( both of which are interesting for the Kiev region). A female Odontaeus armiger flew in from the beetles (a trifle, but a pleasure). That's how we spent the summer.

25.08 we visited Aleshkovsky Sands with a colleague ,took part in EMN8.Last year we were here at 10.09 then the night was cold +3 in total, this year it was quite warm and, at night, it was not plozoy years, but during the day almost nothing-single pigeons, one statilinus, didyms, pyrgus, pandora. Last year, the day was more fun, though not fresh copies.
What arrived-
6 species of common hawkmoth (stelatarum flew in the middle of the night)
crested birds - several tremulas and pigra (these ,as soon as the lights were turned on, several females crawled in, and after 3 nights there were four males)
Volnyanki-one specimen of O. antiquoides & L. coenosa
Arctiidae are represented by lichens-P. obtusa, P. muscerda(for this southern Ukraine in Dubatolova is not specified), E. pygmaeola(there are quite a lot of them).A mass of fuliginosis, cribraria, and cunea.
Moth-many vibicarii, as almost always-ripertarii and, pleased with a few specimens. the artesiarium.
Scoops-what should be noted-a lot of drasterium kailino and kavkazika, a lot of fortalitium (last year found here Ivy and Kostyuk for the first time in Ukraine), even flew fraxini, C. opalina, A. desertorum, E. noctualis & purpurina, A. candefacta(these are many), S. nervosa, C. balsamitae (two copies)

From September 14 to 27, I was in the Crimea, Bakhchisarai district, Rich Gorge village. The weather was sunny, during the day the air warmed up to +30, but in the morning and evening it was around +7..9, at night sometimes up to +3. There are quite a lot of photos, and I will post them on my website as I process them. In the meantime, a little bit for the general idea... smile.gif

The first days I mostly mowed, then I decided to switch to "pasture food", after all, it's autumn after all, a trifle goes to wintering... The ground is terribly hard-dry clay with stones, the grass cover is almost continuous everywhere, occasionally you can find more or less isolated bushes of herbaceous plants. Usually it was necessary to first clear the adjacent territory, then take on the basis. It took an average of an hour or two to process a single bush.

It should be noted that this is probably the last day of this year so warm, according to the forecast promised in the area of +23, approximately so it was.
I spent most of my time digging through detritus, picking up a few dozen ground beetles, some of which were new to me. According to the species composition, I can say for now approximately, we need to photograph everything to determine.

Lace makers:
type of Tingis ampliata, but moderately dotted with bristles, under mullein, but it probably climbed to winter.
Catoplatus (?) carthusianus (under mullein, but near bluebottle bushes).

Groundlings (in detritus):
Pionosomus opacellus (2-3 pcs.).
Sphragisticus nebulosus
Emblethis sp.
(?) Eremocoris sp. / Peritrechus sp.
Nysius sp.
Trapezonotus sp.
Xanthochilus sp.
Scolopostethus (?)affinis

So far, what I cook turns out to be latesco, if that's the view.
Yes, this is an interesting question. I have heard several conflicting opinions about the beauty of this taxon. I have some experience in this type of work and new material will be very useful. Unfortunately, the discussion will continue without Mikael Fibiger.

Report for October 25. Kharkiv region, right bank of the Seversky Donets River, between the village. Cheryomushnoye and the village. Camplica.
Overcast, the temperature is about +4, the wind is light. There are many shrinking and fallen trees, such as: Silver poplar,Elm,Alder, white willow,Hornbeam,Oak, Birch.
Obviously, many insects have hidden and are waiting for spring, some have died, the rest are wintering in the larval stage or have pupated and are waiting for spring in the imago stage.
So there is nothing left to catch, the only thing worth doing is looking at a place for the next season.

Someone in the know can you tell me if the floating beetles are still active?

Well, of course, "nothing", otherwise we didn't find much with you in the winter. smile.gif
You need to bask in the ground, stock up on a spatula...
