So I didn't understand, did no one else see the first daytime butterflies? smile.gif
It can't be, but what about all sorts of nymphalids and lemongrass?
Lemongrass, cornflower, peacock's eye, some nymphalis, libita celtis, and even one whitefly were spotted in the vicinity of Budapest.

The weather is weird this spring. It was suddenly warm, very warm.

A couple of days ago the wind was strong smile.gif

The photo reflects both strong wind and heat )) Although, the sign can be kicked without the wind, well, at least in the form of a protest to world consumption and global globalization smile.gif
And girls in such odiyanii sometimes and at-20C go (well, or stand) wink.gif
At the moment, even at +20, almost everyone is wearing fur coats and hats. Prudent.

Oh, and we have lemongrass plants, but they are there where we are not!

In general, it is now +10, and no one is flying into the light, usually it is already full of all sorts of moths and shovels, the north has not thawed yet)))

Sevastopol, Maksimova dacha. The Bulavous ones are a bit slow. I saw one copy of the anguloptera, a dozen polychloroses, and that was it. Peacock's eye and urticaria, so common in Polesie, are the limit of dreams here... I would like to see it at least once ... Yes, even a battered admiral flew by...that's all.IMG_9189.jpgnympalis polychloros

Urticaria is common on some yayls, and in some years it is even very numerous; on Chiginitra I once observed thousands of caterpillars feeding... But with the peacock's eye there are always problems... shuffle.gif

22.03.2012 0:08, Hierophis

To see urticaria and a day peacock's eye in the Crimea-the limit of dreams? "well, it's all there. We also have one friend who claimed that we do not have a peacock's eye, well, there is no one here and that's all. What surprised me, not just surprised me, was that it was all the same to say that there is no tarantula here, well, or a water snake. And yet, it seems, I went on sorties, but did not see them, although they are not measured here, especially hives.

But in general, Israel is good, Crimea is also good, but it is not bad here either wink.gif

Hello everybody! The theme is just great, I flipped through it several times, all the reports are super. I hardly catch insects myself, but I think I'll take more pictures of them.

I also do not catch, in the sense of collecting, I also only take pictures, only perhaps for keeping the house, well, or for foodsmile.gif, although in the latter case I do not often feed domestic animals with insects from nature.

Peacock eyes day we have numerous in areas where there is a landing. In principle, its occurrence is certainly not as high as that of the same polyxena, for example, but this can be explained not only by the low number, peacock eyes do not sit still, unlike prolixena, you can meet it in spring on dirt roads under plantings, that's probably all, they rarely fly to flowers.

And in the plavni, and in general on the southern side of the Dnieper, there is a lot to eat! For example, I saw the pathos there, we don't have one, there is only pandora. In general, there is some kind of "northern" place, there is even real sphagnum, peat bogs, deciduous forests, so there is a decent contrast with the "ordinary" south smile.gif

Oh, my God! Today so many pleasant surprises were waiting for me in nature smile.gif
Staphylin the magnificent, the first snake.. and glvnoe-lair of latrodextus, neobynoe, like a tent with an impressive system of trapping threads and a nest suspended from above! Very uncharacteristic. Well, another dream came true-to find a horse that just got out of the hole!!! You can put it on your hand and take pictures of it as much as you want, until it warms up and flies away smile.gif

In general-who has the opportunity, it is better to admire the natural beauty tomorrow, and then it seems like almost a virgin of a small week in such a winter smile.gifIs sad smile.gif

Good day to all time of day.
On March 24, Vis and I looked at the weather (it was clear), at the temperature (+10 in the afternoon) and thought about whether we should open the 2012 season near Kiev by night fishing. We gathered and went to a pre-planned winter destination: Kiev region; Makarovsky district; the outskirts of the village of Gavronshchyna. I really liked the place with its extensive birch grove and pine forest. We arrived at the site and began to assemble the structure modified in the winter. The Achlya flavicornis flying briskly over our heads helped us with this. I want to note that at the beginning of fishing (18:30), the temperature dropped to +8, and we finished fishing at 23: 30 with 0 degrees on the thermometer. What I would like to note: the most numerous species was still Achlya flavicornis, which we only took 15 copies for two (well, they are very variable in the pattern - we couldn't resist, but not a single butterfly smile.gifis the same), and at the end of fishing, there were two or three dozen butterflies already in a cold coma smile.gifAmong the moths on the screen two males of Lycia hirtaria and one male of Phigalia pilosaria arrived. Very pleased with the scoop Brachionycha nubeculosa, which is located on a dry blade of grass 2 meters from the screen. We also collected 6 examples of Lithophane furcifera and 2 more species of scoops (now they are being straightened out, after that we will determine). To summarize - THE SEASON IS OPEN!

March 31, 2012, near Feodosia, Biyuk-Yanyshar ridge. The temperature is about +10 ... +12, partly cloudy, wind from 4-5 to 20 m/s
in some places. The first Tomares callimachus, as well as Digitivalva christophi fly, one Cerastis rubricosa and one Ptilocephala plumifera were found, and only the caterpillars of Arctia festiva were found. There are dorcadions, quite a lot of carabuses. In addition, black-bodied beetles and other beetles, bees, wasps, ants, flies, bedbugs, spiders, and a completely naked man who cheerfully walked along the path through the top of the mountain...

Yes, after such a report from Romyald, I want even more spring and at least some variety smile.gif
Finally, from 29.03. to 02.04 hatched all who wintered in the refrigerator from mid-January to March 15, except for one swallowtail, still "sleeping".

In addition to Max's report, since polyxene was collected from a single point. I bred 4 out of 6 (2 males, 2 females). And a little bit of swallowtail. Unfortunately, I couldn't take a photo of the blooming swallowtail, because the camera was dead.

Today at 6 o'clock in the morning I left on the Yalta highway to s.Perevalnoye.I decided to take a walk along the riverbed.Dogwood bushes.I haven't been there yet this season.I came out at the Red Caves turnoff.I was unpleasantly surprised by the frozen puddles.I turned over the stones and was extremely disappointed.I didn't even find Stafov.Gradually, the sun became hotter.I climbed higher and only here began to come across animals. There's plenty of manure from cattle, but it's empty. There are no aphodiums or copra. There are no holes either.Result:five species of ground beetles, three species of staphylinae, and two small babies.A small one is caught in an anthill.Yes, a couple of Dorcas. That's the whole catch.I buried the glasses and turned back.On the way to the bus stop, I saw anglewort and what looks like polychrome flying by.I took a picture of the fan wing on my bag.At 11 o'clock I was already in Simferopol.

Well, here comes our summer smile.gif
Today I have seen insects in the steppe - in addition to kravchiki and ordinary black-heifers, I have already seen black-heifers with a higher phenological status, more "warm", and steppe xylocopa.
But there is no special activity of insects, adonis are not yet blooming en masse, and in general, the plants have not yet fully understood that winter is already over, you can not see the fluffy heads of rindera, asparagus shoots, brandushki and crocuses are still blooming, and even new ones are blooming.

Of the interesting events, I will also note what I saw on the southern slopes of flying rapeseed whiteflies!
While I was sunbathing in the sunsmile.gif, I noticed that ants were crawling on the ground and grass blades, such as I had never seen before! The size of a millimeter!!! They are black and very agile. It's a pity, the batteries ran out, and I couldn't take a picture of them, although, with such a size, it would have been difficult)

But of course I was especially pleased with the runners, they were everywhere, they still overwintered smile.gifHuge runners adorn the walk, and when you go and suddenly notice that the runner is not far away, then the rhythm of the steps is lost with admiration smile.gif
